It's too bad the winner-take-all GOP rules wrongly gave the nomination to McCain so early. Most of the states didn't get a voice in choosing the Republican nominee. And if the GOP had had a REAL nomination battle, instead of a short-circuited snoozer, I seriously, seriously doubt McCain would have emerged as their standard-bearer in November.
McCain is a math error. Huckabee and Romney simply cancelled each other out, and McCain's 1/3 took the delegates. And now true Republicans don't have a candidate this fall.
Here's to the 220,000 Republicans who went to the polls in PA to embarrass McCain. And here's to the 16% of the PA voters who voted for Ron Paul.
How McCain Lost in Pennsylvania
27 percent of Republican primary voters didn’t just tell pollsters they would defect from their party’s standard-bearer; they went to the polls, gas prices be damned, to vote against Mr. McCain.
Though ignored by every channel I surfed, there actually was a G.O.P. primary on Tuesday, open only to registered Republicans. And while it was superfluous in determining that party’s nominee, 220,000 Pennsylvania Republicans (out of their total turnout of 807,000) were moved to cast ballots for Mike Huckabee or, more numerously, Ron Paul.

Meanwhile, while you weren't watching, 27% or 220,000 Republicans in Pennsylvania went to the polls last week to vote AGAINST John McCain

Ron Paul's new book - "The Revolution - A Manifesto" drops on April 30th
Not a lot of information on what he's got to say, except this blurb from his campaign:
"In "Revolution: A Manifesto," Dr. Paul pulls back the benevolent mask of the state and explains how big government is eroding our freedoms, but also offers solutions about how Americans can restore liberty while offering guidance to grassroots activists about how they can advance the political movement his candidacy inspired."
I won't be able to get it over here for awhile, but I hope he drops some "oh, crap, did he really say that!?" bombs.
Damn, I miss him. Maybe the Libertarian or Constitutional party will draft him?

Ron Paul has a message for Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John McCain, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank and all the other mortgage bailout bozos
It saddens me to see the US being run by monkeys, who don't understand the sanctity of contracts, who don't understand moral hazard and who don't understand that destroying the US dollar is not good for America.
Ron Paul understands. And yet America refuses to listen.
Ron Paul Sees Bailout Writing on the Wall
"I think that if there is something on the floor between now and November [that] will be construed as something to help people getting out of their mortgages, nobody will consider that the responsibility of government is to honor and respect contracts.
They are going to go and violate everybody's contracts and tell people, "Just because you [received] this loan and you can't pay it [back], we are going to change the rules."
But if you and I had a contract like that, we could see that that's not right. You owe me that money, or I want my house back. It's so vague now—who owns these mortgages—they figure, "Well, somebody in China owns these mortgages, so we won't honor the contract."

Is it time to pressure Ron Paul to run for president as an independent?
I think a lot of us feel this campaign is now sorely missing Ron Paul's voice.
He can't and won't win the Presidency folks - the general American population is nowhere close to listening to or hearing his message. It's just too brutally honest. Deal with it.
But this campaign needs his voice. He needs a bigger platform. He can influence the major candidates, he needs to be in the debates, and his supporters can and should be heard. When Obama or McCain are going on about housing gambler bailouts, he needs to be there to talk some common sense.
So, here's the question - would you support a Ron Paul 2008 run for president as an independent?
If anyone wants some extra credit, go start a petition at petitiononline and I'll get it up here or let me know if a serious one is already underway - I couldn't find it. And enjoy this radio interview with Ron Paul from 2007.

Well, the nice thing is that if the Republicans nominate John McCain and not Ron Paul, he'd lose nearly every state.
And I guess the bad news is that the winner might suck too.
John McCain is a pro-illegal-immigration, wrong-on-Iraq, Keating-Five, DC insider, angry old man. Nominating him is suicide for the GOP, in a Bob Dole kinda way. I still think Romney is gonna win it in the end, but the clueless McCain did take Florida last night.
FYI, got an email from the Ron Paul campaign, and his whole strategy now is to pick up delegates wherever he can - especially in the smaller caucus (vs. large primary) states, as he anticipates a brokered convention, where he can be one of the kingmakers.
Nice to see him admit what we've said here for weeks. He's got no shot at winning, but he has an important role to play. And that probably means making sure idiots like McCain or Rudy aren't the nominee, and that as president Romney would pledge to consider the issues important to RP and HP'ers.

HousingPANIC Quote of the Day
“We need a plan that stimulates savings and production not more of the reckless borrowing and consumption that got us into this mess in the first place. Ron Paul’s plan is the only one that amounts to a step in the right direction.
If you want meaningful change - for the better that is - Ron Paul is the only candidate capable of delivering it. The others merely promise to continue the failed policies that are at the root of our current economic problems.”
-Peter Schiff, Economic Advisor to Presidential Candidate Ron Paul, January 2008
Seriously, Peter Schiff is Ron Paul's new economic advisor. Man, it all comes together here on HousingPANIC, eh? What's next, Lawrence Yun and Kendra Todd advising Hillary Clinton?
And how sad is it that Ron Paul's plan has zero chance of getting even looked at, let alone passed. Americans want their money from the sky so they can buy sh*t from Wal-Mart. Savings? Production? We're AMERICA - we don't need to save or produce anymore!
We're doomed. We're run by monkeys, and our population is clueless.
Thanks HP'ers for the link.

Spooky housing crash / mortgage meltdown youtube compilation video - with Ron Paul telling people how it is and how it's gonna be
One person stood up and told the truth about the Fed, about housing and about our corrupted Congress.
And America evidently wasn't ready for him.
They weren't ready for the truth.
Too bad.

Ron Paul on the housing bubble, bogus CPI data and stupid Fed policy
When it comes to the housing bubble, the Fed and even bogus government CPI data, Ron Paul gets it. Hands down. The dude just gets it.
Everyone else running by comparison is an imbecile.
And yet that's what America wants. Vote Imbecile 2008!

Just so I'm on the record on this one - Hillary Clinton disgusts me.
She's the First Lady people. A poll-led, disingenuous, contrived and laughable candidate. And after 20 years of Bush's and Clinton's, if I see another one I'll go postal.
America is NOT this dumb. No way. And Hillary Clinton is not a serious candidate for President. Neither is Mike Huckabee or Rudy Giuliani, but for some reason, their names are still out there.
Never in my life have I seen such laughable and pathetic candidates. 300 million people and this is what the two corrupt parties can come up with?
It's time for a revolution HP'ers. If you're a "Dem" or a "Rep", it's time to seriously ask yourself why. It's time to think for yourself. And it's time for an Independent candidate. The corrupt Democrats and Republicans in power got us into this mess. And what I'm seeing from the 2008 crew is seriously just a joke.
An Independent can win the White House in 2008. Just wait. The Housing Crash changes everything.

IT'S TIME FOR CAMPAIGN HISTORY IN THE MAKING - THE RON PAUL TEA PARTY MONEY BOMB IS ON!!!!!
The distinctions between Virginians, Pennsylvanians, New Yorkers, and New Englanders are no more. I Am Not A Virginian, But An American!" - Patrick Henry, 1774

Make a statement. Make history. Cause a stir. Promote our interests. Upset this pathetic and laughable presidential field. Put up a fight. And prove me wrong - show the world that America isn't marching lock-step down the wrong path. Show the world that the polls and pundits are wrong. Show the world that Ron Paul can win. I mean seriously, Mike Huckabee? Hillary Clinton? Is America THAT dumb?

Every dollar helps send a message. Be heard. Make a difference. Take a stand. And if the country is too dumb and too unaware for Ron Paul's message of limited government and freedom, at least you'll know you did your part and went down fighting.
Who knows, perhaps a new American Revolution is at hand.
Chicago Tribune - Ron Paul revolution: It has just begun to fight
“The disgust with government and the spread of our message, plus the willingness of these individuals on the Internet to organize, is going to make a difference,” - Ron Paul December 2007

Here's the youtube video of Ron Paul on Jim Cramer's Mad Money last night bashing Bernanke and the f*cked up Fed
It is amazing to see Ron Paul and Jim Cramer openly bashing Bernanke and the corrupt Federal Reserve Bank. And it is amazing to see so many people even here on HP interested really boring stuff like Fed policy, bogus inflation data and macroeconomic/microeconomic issues.
One by one we'll wake people up! May take 100 years, may take a Depression, but for the love of god we gotta get people away from America's Top Model and Dancing with the F*cking Stars. There's some serious stuff going on out there that needs to be dealt with, and ignorance is NOT bliss anymore.
Enjoy the video.

The Ron Paul December 16th Tea Party Money Bomb is just hours away. But understand that Ron Paul now has no chance of winning the GOP nomination
Sometimes politics isn't about winning or losing an election. Sometimes it's about making a stand. Sometimes it's about planting the seeds for a future run. Sometimes it's about standing up for what is right, or fighting against what is wrong.
And that's where we are with Ron Paul 2008.
Ron Paul has absolutely no chance now of winning the GOP nomination. The Republican party has been hijacked by religious jihadists, who don't care about fiscal policy, or limited government, or businesses, or taxpayers. No, the vast majority of GOP primary voters are simply interested in who's the best evangelical preacher. Who hates gays the most. Who is against abortion the most. Who brings up the name jesus the most. And who does the best job pretending to be moral.
And as you know now, Ron Paul is NOT an attractive candidate for this crowd. He's too smart, and they're too dumb.
So I'm going to be giving again to Ron Paul's campaign on the 16th. I'm hoping to see him finish first or second in New Hampshire. I think it'd rock the world and punk the pathetic GOP field. But I'm leveling with you HP'ers, and some of you may be upset with me, but I'm not going to tell you what you want to hear, I'm just telling you how it is.
Americans are too clueless to elect Ron Paul as president. And GOP primary voters are even dumber.
But please, give to RP's campaign. Send a message. Do good. Try your best to be an agent of change. Fight against this cancer in the GOP. Send a message that Ron Paul needs to be heard. And on election day 2008, get ready to vote for an Independent candidate. Because both of these political parties that we're stuck with simply suck.

A letter from Ron Paul
Want to know a secret? There were two moments I especially enjoyed at
the CNN/YouTube debate -- despite my frustration at some of the
questions, and the maldistribution of time.
First, I was pleased at John McCain's attack, which he clearly had
planned. Not because that sort of stream-of-consciousness nonsense about
Hitler and WWII -- when the neocons openly want what they call WW IV! Are
we to forget that the first war crime charged at Nuremberg was waging
aggressive war?
I mean this: mainstream politicians NEVER attack an opponent they think
is far behind. The McCain campaign, we've heard, is worried sick about
New Hampshire, and they thought a slam at me would help. Ha! Of
course, it only strengthened our forces.
Then, after the debate, Rudy Giuliani walked up to me and said, "Oooh,
you sure have a LOT of supporters." It's only the beginning, I told
him.
Indeed, he could have told that by the crowd outside after the debate.
Mitt Romney had a few people, but no one else did. We, on the other
hand, had about 500 enthusiastic revolutionaries, plus a boat, a trolley,
and two planes towing lighted signs. As I looked out at the crowd, I
thought: the establishment has no idea of what they are facing. We have
an army of freedom, prosperity, and peace. As the LA Times political
blog noted the other day, the British also thought they had no problem with the Americans--until Yorktown.
But we have an astoundingly short time before the first contests. The
Iowa caucuses are on January 3, the New Hampshire primary is on January
8, and Nevada and South Carolina are both on January 19. We have only
30 days to stake our claim to the nomination, and to the new America
that restores the ideals of the founders, and leads the world through
free enterprise, a sound dollar, the rule of law, and peaceful example.
Not through inflation and bombs.
Help me surprise the neocons and all the establishment with our
success. Help me build the foundation for the America we all want. Send your
most generous contribution: https://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate. The
military-industrial complex, the biased media, the big banks, the Fed,
the waterboarders, and the IRS don't like what we're doing. But every
good American is applauding us, and daring to hope for a better future.
Please, help me give it to them, to us, to all Americans to come. Keep
this revolution growing and winning: https://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate.
Sincerely,
Ron

December 16th, the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, is the date for the next Ron Paul Money Bomb
Oh, man, this one is gonna be even more fun than November 5th. December 16th is the day HP'ers. A money bomb for Ron Paul will explode the GOP race. Be a part of it.
Ron Paul may have raised $4 million thanks to the blogs on the 5th, but he got millions more worth of free press - he was EVERYWHERE this past week. And he's now raised as of tonight $8 million the quarter. Wow. John, Rudy and Mitt must be pissed! But just wait until December 16th. A day that will go down in US political history.
Folks, if you ever want to see the power of one individual with an idea, just look at what Trevor Lyman, who never worked for a campaign before, who isn't very political, did with a moment of inspiration and a great idea when he put up the November 5th money bomb website and banners (need more banners btw).
One man, with a great idea, which then caught fire on communities like HP, vaulted Ron Paul to the top tier of Republican candidates. Damn, that's beautiful. Wish I had thought of it! But glad to be a part of it, and I know many of you are too.
Get behind December 16th HP'ers. Go here and register. And drop the biggest bomb on the establishment you can that day.
Ron Paul 2008. It's amazing what's happening. Looks like the housing and dollar crash are (finally) waking some people up.
