Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you The Worst President in the History of the United States

Here's Bush on Fannie, Freddie, the housing crash and gas prices.

Idiot.

Unqualified, incompetent, arrogant idiot.

May future generations forgive us.

May 23, 2008

What, you didn't think we could keep spending like this with no repercussions, did you? Silly Americans.

Remember when you're at the gas station and grocery store this weekend to consider the hundreds and hundreds of billions we've wasted in Iraq. Remember to consider why we as a nation put two free spending oil men with military industrial complex connections into the White House. And remember to think about our $53 trillion debt, and who we owe it to.

And then take another look at the prices you're paying. And the price our country paid. And take a look around at the kids. You know, the ones who end up getting stuck with your bill, the ones who'll hate you one day.

And maybe then it'll all come together for you.

Here's a good piece in the IHT for your consideration by Bernie Sanders, the Independent Senator from Vermont. Add him to the HP short list of politicians who are allowed to stay in DC. We need more "Independents" in the Senate. Don't forget that it took both corrupt political parties to get us into this mess, and keep us there for so long.

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, represents, in the final analysis, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."

- Dwight D. Eisenhower, 1956

A budget U.S. taxpayers can't afford

Today, Bush's military budget is $515 billion, more than half of all discretionary spending. This is in addition to the $200 billion a year being spent on the war in Iraq, and another $16 billion spent on nuclear weapons.

Meanwhile, as military spending explodes, the middle class in America is shrinking, poverty is increasing and the gap between the very rich and everyone else is growing wider. While we now spend $94 billion more on defense than three years ago, poverty and hunger are increasing, 47 million Americans lack health insurance, and an entire generation of young people wonders how to afford college.

HousingPANIC Quote of the Day

"I think it was arrogance and incompetence that put this country in such a hole around the world."

- GOP Senator Chuck Hagel on the Bush Administration, March 2008

HousingPANIC Quote of the Day

"They didn't want Americans to know exactly how bad the war was for the economy so they flooded it with liquidity, they looked the other way with regulations and they deliberately, I think, postponed the problem into the future and now we're paying the price."

Joseph Stiglitz, Nobel Prize winning economist speaking about Bush administration, March 2008

March 15, 2008

So what do you think this little fella's approval rating will be as he slithers away from office in 2009?

A total and complete failure.

The only people more concerning are the 19% who amazingly still support him.

History will not be kind. And I expect he will be hounded, mocked, ridiculed and blamed for the rest of his days on earth.

In the end, the main blame for the housing bubble and crash should rest with the home "buyers". And the main blame for the Bush debacle shouldn't be Bush himself, but instead should rest with the
50,460,110 people who stupidly voted him into office in 2000, and the even greater fools, the 62,040,610 who re-elected him in 2004. Plus the millions and millions who didn't even show up to vote.

Seven years too late, Hank Paulson calls for nationwide licensing of the slimy and corrupt mortgage broker "profession". Thanks Hank. Bit too late.

Where was the Bush Administration, the Plunge Protection Team and the Fed when we needed them? Day late and a few trillion dollars short I'd say.

Talk about showing up at a bank robbery after the crooks have already fled..

Paulson says US blueprint calls for stronger oversight of mortgage lenders

Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said Thursday that a presidential working group wants stronger regulatory oversight of mortgage lenders to avert the kind of credit crisis that is dragging the economy down.

In a new Bush administration initiative that Paulson said is not about "finding excuses and scapegoats," a presidential working group set up in the wake of the 1987 stock market crash is calling for a series of actions designed to avert the kind of chilling housing and credit crunches that are threatening to throw the nation into recession - if it isn't there already.

One recommendation calls for federal and state regulators to strengthen oversight of mortgage lenders and another urges state financial regulators to implement strong nationwide licensing standards for mortgage brokers, according to the group's report, released Thursday.

LIAR!!!

Here's the highlights from Bush's $3 Trillion Budget Fantasy:

* Models US economy growing 2.7% this year (yeah, right!)
* Doesn't take into account the cost of future entitlement obligations (as usual)
* Doesn't include Iraq/Afghanistan war expenses (as usual)
* Pushes off the problems and tough decisions to the next president (And Mr. Obama is gonna be pissed)
* Requires foreigners to finance our overspending and sea of red ink (as usual)
* Destroys the hopes and dreams of future Americans so that the Baby Boomers can get theirs

George Bush is hands-down the worst and most damaging president in the history of the United States of America. A traitor, an imbecile and a criminal. For the hard-core GOP partisans who STILL don't get it, you will, since his behavior and the GOP's complicit support these past few years has set the party back for a generation.

The Republicans will be swept out of power in 2008, losing the House and Senate by convincing margins, and now the Presidency. Goodbye and good riddance. But perhaps even more troubling - the Democrats will then take power, unchecked.

God help us all.

FLASH: Bush pardons Libby, cements position as worst and most hated president in US history

When you find yourself in a hole, keep digging, yup, that's our man George. And yes, this is a pardon - pardon my buddy for commiting a crime, I'll just commute that silly little sentence because my best buddy Dick tells me I have to.

Amazing.

I guess it'll be a waste of time bringing Rove and Cheney et al up on charges, since the whole crew is above the law. You wonder if the next president will pardon Bush though a la Ford/Nixon, although I believe an international war crimes tribunal may trump a US president's ability to protect a former president. Any legal scholars want to weigh in there?

Too bad Bush can't pardon the housing bubble - that was the real criminal that ran out of control under his watch

Reality check - does anyone in America care anymore? Or is America's Top Model on again?

The Worst President Ever now has a 26% approval rating. Think that's bad? Just wait.

26%

Two Six percent.

Wow.

If I had to write a game plan for how to be the worst president ever, or to achieve a 74% disapproval rating, I'd have a tough time getting that low. I'd love to meet one of the 26%. They must be fascinating people. Kinda like OJ jurors.

And to think, that's 26% before the full impact of the housing crash hits. A year from now we may be looking at single digits. And I never thought it possible, but he's almost below where Nixon was when he was resigning. I see a new GOP slogan for 2008 - "We Hate Bush Too"

I'd say impeach the guy, but then you know who would fill the chair and you know how ugly that would be. Hell, I'd move to Europe if that happened (oh, heck, I'm already here)

Can January 2009 come fast enough? Will we, can we ever dig out of the Bush hole, or is it over for America as we know it?

Bush Hits Record Low Approval Rating of 26%

June 22 (Bloomberg) -- President George W. Bush's approval rating dropped to a record low, making him the least popular president since Richard Nixon

May 06, 2007

Is Bush approval rating now tied to the housing collapse? The Worst President Ever now at a shocking 28% (ouch)

HP doesn't seem to get the pro-Bush trolls anymore. Even people who voted for Bush in 2004 are probably scraping the bumper sticker off the car right about now.

Simply the worst president in the history of the United States. The damage this man and his cronies have done to our country in 6 short years is amazing. I'm not sure the US can ever recover.

You get the leaders you deserve folks. Maybe next time people will think a bit harder before they vote (although Kerry? Ugh). Or maybe they'll demand better candidates (Hillary Clinton? Rudy Giuliani? Come on! Want change? Two words: Ron Paul)

Newsweek: The Elephant in the Room
George W. Bush has the lowest presidential approval rating in a generation, and the leading Dems beat every major ’08 Republican. Coincidence?

May 5, 2007 - It’s hard to say which is worse news for Republicans: that George W. Bush now has the worst approval rating of an American president in a generation, or that he seems to be dragging every ’08 Republican presidential candidate down with him.

But According to the new NEWSWEEK Poll, the public’s approval of Bush has sunk to 28 percent, an all-time low for this president in our poll, and a point lower than Gallup recorded for his father at Bush Sr.’s nadir.

The last president to be this unpopular was Jimmy Carter who also scored a 28 percent approval in 1979. This remarkably low rating seems to be casting a dark shadow over the GOP’s chances for victory in ’08. The NEWSWEEK Poll finds each of the leading Democratic contenders beating the Republican frontrunners in head-to-head matchups.

Anyone else want their trillion dollars back?

What a waste. What a colossal waste.

And yet nobody seems to care.

Americans, this man, the worst president in US history, has done irreparable damage to our country. And you let him. We all did.

Think it's bad now? Just wait until the housing crash is in full effect. And maybe then people might give a damn.

But by then it may be too late. The damage has been done. Now it's only a question of how bad we'll let the damage get.

I support the troops, and I want to bring 'em home now. I hope some of you do what you can to help paralyze this incompetent administration. We can't get rid of 'em, but at least we can limit the damage these next two years.

Until Hillary gets in and brings the country to its knees.
