In honor of HP's 2 year birthday, I give you Suzanne, the realtor on commission, and a couple making the worst financial mistake of their lives

Two years of doing the blog and this is the gift that keeps on giving. I could watch this video 100 times a day. Well, maybe not. But damn, it sure is a hoot every time I see it.

Enjoy! And let this be a reminder as to why you should never, EVER, listen to a realtor on commission.

SUZANNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

You can't trust ANYONE making a commission. The only way they get paid is by getting you to buy whether it's in your best interest or not. Some commission based sales people are more scrupulous than others but I don't trust anyone that tries to talk me into something.

Brutal. I remember when this commercial came out, and I remarked, "Oh great, now this is going to empower someone's spouse to twist the arm of their significant other into buying a home they can't afford." And two years later...

Hilarious,
They sure knew how to work on the female nesting urge.
Of course the guy gets the consolation "big garage"

btw, everyone knows that realtors aren't in it for the $$$, they do it so they can find people their dream home.

The Millionaire Real Estate Agent: It's Not About the Money...It's About Being the Best You Can Be!

if it's not about the money, why is it called the Millionaire Real Estate Agent?

Which street corner!?? I rent so I have an extra $5.

More then the Realtor being the issue are the fat feminized american men who crumble if their bratty spoiled wifes shake their head "wike der anrwy mommie". I thought this bloated 2-liter coke bucket-a-chicken extra fries wuss was going to crap his pants when his wife disapproved. Woman love and respect real men who protect them and look out for the future and not men who act like their 1 and 3 year olds.

I predict they divorce and the woman finds a man who made better decisions and knew when to say "no".

I never understood how this commercial was made by the REIC. If anything, it's something that the BHs would make.

Is the REIC trying to show males that it's okay to cave under pressure and that's how these things happen? And showing the wives that's it's okay and necessary to bully their husband into a nest? The guy doesn't ever seem genuinely happy (it's a reality commercial). Of course Suzanne researched her commission percentage for buying them the most expensive house that financing would let them.

Last night, I watched "Sugar & Spice" which was filmed in 2001. There is a scene where a young couple was trying to get a home loan, and the loan officer was flat out denying them. If this was filmed in 2004, they would have gotten the loan from somewhere.

Couldn't agree more Out at the Peak - doesn't this just tell you that you can never allow yourself to become that henpecked little wuss of what may have been a man at some point?

Ha! all you tough guys talkin in here.... I have been in this same situation for about a year and a half now (minus the co-conspiring realturd) and have seen first hand how hard it is to overcome nesting with such ineffective tools as logic and math.

It is hard work holding back the nesting, the guy in the video was probably subjected to years of mental distress, pussy withholding, and other forms of torture until he couldn't take it anymore and decided to become an FB.... Trust me, despite the knowledge of how big the F is in front of th B, i have contemplated becoming one just to shut her up.

If you tough guys have first hand resisted this, then i give you props...your pimp hand is strong

Note to self: never to get married.

Resisting Husband, show her the numbers. Even the MSM, e.g., Fortune and Money magazines are now predicting continuing bleeding - start printing things out for her and giving her these articles, even if they are less gloomy than reality. Show her the graphs of prices and the trendlines. Show her the fraud cases and inflated comps. Explain a little if need be, but more importantly let her see for herself. She will not only come to understand why you don't want to buy now and didn't before, but will respect you more for having made the right decision even over her pressure. (And if she doesn't, you married an idiot, get out now, it'll only get worse.)

All our relatives on both sides were pressuring us to buy, buy, buy, all the way until the beginning of this year, and I kept saying everyone who bought at bubble prices was going to take a bath... now, I take my wife for a walk in Huntington Beach and we see 10 for-sale signs on the same block, and she is soooo thankful for that pushback. Believe it or not, we were looking in the window of a Realtor a week or so ago and someone came out and tried to pitch us and my wife smacked her down, saying prices still had a long way to fall! I wanted to do a little dance.

I have similar experience, but was able through a combination of math and stubborness to delay house buying for two years. I will do it for another two years, now with the evidence screaming from the papers. Two remarks:
- The math has to be made emotional, too: Black numbers on the bank account are not enough, but thoughts what you could do with money otherwise can help (after stashing away the obligatory savings).
- Women have a point that many men might delay house buying out of disinterest for doing something at all about shelter. I read once: People buy only when they have to (or made to). Make it clear to her that you would like to own, but not at these costs. Offer moving to a better rental. Communicate, communicate, communicate!
