Threaten nuclear war. Check. Thumb nose at the Great Satan. Check. Get Oil Prices up to new record. Check.

What brilliant strategy!

By doing what he is doing, the Iran nutjob is rolling in new money, as gold skyrockets. Money that he can use to buy weapons to use against us and Israel.

Brilliant!

Keep filling up those Hummer H2's folks and driving 100 miles roundtrip to your surburban house. You're playing right into his hands.

TEHRAN, Iran - Iran’s president said on Friday the rise in oil price was “very good,” Iran’s Mehr News Agency reported, emphasizing the hawkish position of the world’s fourth largest oil exporter as crude prices have hit record levels.

The increase of the oil price and growth of oil income is very good and we hope that the oil prices reach their real levels,” Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said as he toured an oil exhibition in Tehran, the agency reported.

He's happy about high oil prices. So what? Wouldn't you be if you had a hundred billion barrels of it?

COAL LIQUEFACTION!

For decades the technology has existed to clean the impurities out of coal leaving a clear liquid that will burn practically pollution free for roughly half the cost of today’s energy prices. The Governor of Montana was on Sixty Minutes a few weeks ago doing his best to introduce the public to the future of the coal industry. I have also heard the Governor of West Virginia on TV saying the same things. These two states are willing to bend over backwards to work with anyone looking to fund these projects. There is a developmental timeline of 7-10 years before this process actually becomes a reality to fuel our homes and automobiles. This lag time is the reason that we as American Citizens must learn and educate ourselves to the truth of alternatives so that this process can begin as soon as possible. Where do you think oil prices will be in 5-10 years? This is a horrible situation that will only get worse with time. People, this is a no brainier and our nation should do everything it can to promote and develop this alternative as quickly as possible.

If it is profitable, then it will be developed. Of course gov't will step in a screw it all up, but what can you do.

Oh Joy! Oh, Rapture! No gas at my local station. Anything, anything to break the monotony!

Eat a large-size can of beans if you want some gas. Or listen to a speech by the Chimpenfuhrer..

It is so obvious. Two religous fanatics who are certain their G-d will come if they create a world war.

Iran is making every move to get us to start it. And Chimpenfuher is jus the religious nut to do it.

This article will explain why all alternative oil sources will simply not work for our economy, or the growing worldwide economies, everything is backed up with facts.

I did however read about a new technique for getting oil out of shale in the rockies that could bring a ray of light.

All you oil shale and tar sand boosters keep forgetting one minor detail. It takes lots of water and energy to get the damned stuff out of the ground and extract the petroleum content. Oil shale processing requires 100 barrels of water (about 4200 gallons) for every barrel of oil produced. Tar sands have to be heated, and most serious engineering studies end up having an on-site nuclear reactor to supply the needed heat energy. How long do you suppose the environmental approval process will take before we build some of those?

So yes, the U.S. Venezuela, and Canada have lots of oil locked in those hills. Getting it out is another story altogether.
