I guess an "October Surprise" of some bombings---like in a swing states---with (supposedly) Hezbollah terrorists on videotape complete with a new straight-from-central-casting bearded *Iranian* villain.

Answer: The Rally Around the Flag effect. Go read some political science.
Bush, Cheney and their gang should know one thing ... this time there will be no "rallying around the flag". The more Bush pushes the Iran propaganda the more people from high places will be coming out of the wordwork to expose to that remaining 35% just how big the lies were that got us into Iraq. Nobody will believe a word the ahole says in regards to the Iran "threat" and they shouldn't.
Over the past few months they have been trying to sell us the idea that Iran is providing IED technology to the Iraqi insurrgents. There goal ... getting us worked-up and pissed- off at Iran. But guess what? As usual we find out this is a BS allegation. The shaped-charge technology of which they speak is 50 years old. Oh and guess in what industry shaped charges are extensively used ... That's right the oil industry. Iraq's oil industry has been using the technology for many years and needs absolutely no help from Iran.

Iran's nuclear capabilities are miniscule and easily contained. I would laugh if it were not for the experience of the last few years.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad -- what a nutjob. He should have died in a hail of bullets when we rescued the hostages in 1979. But Jimmy Carter was president and he did nothing but grovel. Or Ahmadinejad could have been executed in 1978 by the Shah of Iran. But Jimmy managed to fuck that up too and helped turn the country over to the 11th century Islamists.
Yeah, America's whole history with Iran began with Carter. Is that what Hannity told you?
Google up some info about Mossadegh and you will get some sense of why we--and the Shah--were so hated in Iran, and why that hatred continues to the present day.
Running an aggressively interventionist foreign policy for half a century leads to a lot of grudges. They are just now coming to light.
From reading most of the comments on this blog it is very sadly and disturbingly obvious that the propoganda is effective. The USA is the most dangerous country in the world and you just can't see it from the inside because you are "rallying around the flag"?????Please do the rest of the world a favour (remember we all live on this planet together), and read some non-american news sources on this issue.

I will be in cash or hard assets on that day. Definately OUT of the stock market. i did the same thing over new years and missed 3% international stocks gain - but still was immune from an attack and the subsequent market drop.
Halliburton has the Bombing and Invasion scheduled for June 10, 2006. Ooops!...Forget THAT comment !...A minor National Security leak there.
