HousingPANIC made a stink about this when it happened back in March 2006. But barely a news story was written, and not a peep from Congress was heard.
I think it's pretty obvious to most now that your government lies to you. Your government, burdened by a $53 trillion IOU, is in a position where it has to deceive you. And if you believe the government's inflation data, or social benefit promises, you are a fool.
But I think it's getting tougher and tougher to hide the truth. Now it's out there for everyone to see.
You can see it at the grocery store. You can see it at the gas station. You can see it with the sea of "foreclosure" and "for sale" signs up and down your street.
You can fool some of the people some of the time... And thanks to shadowstats for showing everyone the ugly truth, even if we're no longer supposed to see it...

Ben Bernanke and the Fed deviously stopped publishing M3 (money supply) on March 23, 2006. And now you know why.

Ben Bernanke is an economic terrorist - US inflation soars and the dollar is destroyed and he's getting ready to make it even worse

I hate Ben Bernanke. He knowingly made inflation soar and destroyed the US dollar in order to bail out his banker buddies - and he even failed there.
Ben Bernanke should be arrested for treason against the American people. If you earn, spend or save US dollars, Ben Bernanke is your declared enemy. He is an economic terrorist and should be fought with any and all legal means available. There should be protests outside of the Fed's offices, and Bernanke should be hounded like the scoundrel he is.
It's time to fight back people. Take this battle to the streets. Vent your rage. Contact your corrupt congressmen. Demand action.
Or just say f it, admit defeat, find a job that pays Euros, and buy gold.
Wholesale Prices in 2007 Up 6.3 Percent
WASHINGTON (AP) — Wholesale inflation last year shot up by the largest amount in 26 years while retailers suffered their worst December shopping season in five years as mounting economic woes caused consumers to put away their wallets.
The Labor Department reported that wholesale inflation was up 6.3 percent for all of 2007, reflecting a huge increase for the year in various types of energy costs ranging from gasoline to home heating oil.

Ron Paul lays down the truth, and then Ben Bernanke spews lies. Here's the Ron Paul vs. Ben Bernanke youtube video
The establishment will continue to paint Ron Paul and his supporters as "fringe" and as "loonies". Why? Because they don't want people to come to understand The Big Scam.
Folks, if Ron Paul gains traction, his personal safety may be at risk.
Here's RP vs BB during yesterday's Congressional testimony. I wish these two had an hour, not 6 minutes. And I wish Bernanke was under oath.
RP ponders:
* Nobody asks where the bubbles (and crashes) come from or what causes inflation
* Artificially low interest rates were a distortion
* The Fed is hiding the increase in money supply by not publishing M3
* The government's CPI readings are bullsh*t, are fudged and are numbers that nobody believes
* Americans who save dollars have just gotten robbed by 10%
* How can we solve inflation with more inflation?
Bernanke responds, with my comments:
* Money growth has been moderate over the past few years (WRONG - A BALDFACED LIE)
* The Fed is doing what Congress wants them to do - look at employment and inflation (GRADE: F)
* The Fed wants to make sure prices remain as stable as possible (SEE THE PRICE OF OIL AND GOLD LATELY?)
* People who save dollars and buy things with dollars aren't hurt by inflation (IS THIS MAN REALLY THIS DUMB, OR IS HE A SMART LIAR?)

National median home prices down 33% in the past 12 months in gold terms as the dollar destructs

Looks like some of you are struggling with the concept of inflation, money supply and hyperinflation, figuring "it can't happen here". Especially some who think you can't have inflation unless wages are rising. 100% incorrect. The two are not linked. Whereas inflation and money supply are.
Meanwhile, for hints of our currency destruction and seeds of hyperinflation, gold is at $800 and oil is at $100, and a burger in a pub over here is $22. Gee, weren't those three things a bit cheaper just a bit ago?
So remember, housing prices in America have crashed, are crashing and will continue to crash for years to come. Real house prices that is. That fact is not disputed - it's how you keep score that's the challenge.
When lying realtors on commission, the deceptive monkeys at the NAR, the lazy MSM and the clueless Bush Administration trumpet that home prices are only down single digits, and when they fall again next year another 5% to 10%, don't forget you have to do your own math.
Unfortunately, you won't be able to use the "official" inflation reading, especially the "core" inflation number that doesn't factor in food or energy. Nope, you'll have to do your own hyperinflation tracking and math. And for the truest measure, adjust home prices against the price of gold, the only true currency (gold-weighted home prices are down 33% this year already - see yesterday's post).
The very fact that home prices are falling in an inflationary period show you how bad the crash truly is.
Here's more on hyperinflation. Start giving this some more thought HP'ers. You'll be glad you did.
In economics, hyperinflation is inflation that is "out of control," a condition in which prices increase rapidly as a currency loses its value. No precise definition of hyperinflation is universally accepted. One simple definition requires a monthly inflation rate of 20 or 30% or more. In informal usage the term is often applied to much lower rates.
The definition used by most economists is "an inflationary cycle without any tendency toward equilibrium." A vicious circle is created in which more and more inflation is created with each iteration of the cycle.
Although there is a great deal of debate about the root causes of hyperinflation, it becomes visible when there is an unchecked increase in the money supply or drastic debasement of coinage, and is often associated with wars (or their aftermath), economic depressions, and political or social upheavals.

A HOUSINGPANIC SHOCKER: UNITED STATES HOUSING PRICES MAY NOT FALL AS MUCH AS YOU THINK (IN DOLLAR TERMS)

Are you sitting down?
I believe that US home prices (in dollar terms) may no longer fall as much as everyone here thinks.
No, nobody hijacked my keyboard. Yes, I'm sober.
Well then what the fu*k???
Pretty simple HP'ers: Inflation and dollar destruction.
The planned and purposeful destruction of the US dollar by Ben Bernanke and the US Federal Reserve Bank is now throwing us into an inflation spiral that will take the real prices of goods, services, commodities and assets to the moon. In dollar terms.
Meanwhile, the purchasing power of the dollar will be destroyed, and the loss of purchasing power of the unsuspecting sheeple making dollars will be even more dramatic. So watch for foreigners making Euros, Pounds, Renminbi or Rupee's to eventually swoop in and buy everything in sight.
So the NAR will trumpet that "median home prices are flat!", although when you factor in inflation (true inflation, not the government's bullshit number), or you convert the dollar price to gold or oil or Euros or soybeans or, well, pretty much anything, real house prices will plummet. In many towns by 50% or more from the peak. And you'll still have the 20% to 30% real price haircuts already seen in towns like Phoenix, Vegas, Miami, etc.
Here's some math - gold is up 28% vs. last year in dollar terms, while Case-Shiller median home prices are down 5% in dollar terms. So home prices have already dropped 33% this year (in gold terms). Get it now?
But in dollar terms, over time, it won't look so bad. And that's what Bush, Bernanke, the bankers and the NAR have planned.
The only question is - will the sheeple (and China) be smart enough to see through the scam?
Welcome to the New Serfdom.

Open thread to let Ben Bernanke and The Fed know what you think they should do next. Trick or treat?
I doubt Bernanke reads HP, but ya never know. Hell, I doubt if Bernanke reads much of anything up in his ivory tower. But we have lots of MSM, columnists and reporters reading, and they'd likely be interested in what you have to say about The Fed and what they should do next, and what you think of 'em.
Open up with both barrels HP'ers.
My out-there long-shot prediction - they hold tight. Oil at $100, gold at $800, a crashing US dollar, a since-corrected jobs report, and stocks at all-time highs (in dollar terms) should scare the f*ck out of 'em.
Hyperinflation ain't pretty.
Trick or treat Ben? Trick or treat?

HYPERINFLATION!!!!!! The US dollar destruction is here as gold and oil hit new highs

Got commodities?
Remember when people mocked HP'ers for saying gold and oil would soar and the dollar would collapse? Bet they feel like fools today.
Ben Bernanke hates you, especially if you earn or save US dollars. So invest accordingly, especially if the idiot cuts rates again this week.
Dollar and oil hit new records
Oil hit a new record high of $93.80 and the dollar struck a new low yesterday as investors showed their growing certainty that the US Federal Reserve will cut interest rates on Wednesday.
The same conviction also saw gold approach $800 a troy ounce – its highest price for 28 years – while equities made gains. The move into gold reflects how investors fear rising inflation from the twin forces of higher oil prices and a weaker dollar
