Like fine wine, it gets better with age

ha ha never saw that before and I finally get the "suzanne researched this" references here

but al-qweefer when you and the HP crowd is sitting in your bomb shleter in 2010 counting your $400 ounces of gold, they'll be in a nice home and their kids will be in a good school district

What will your kids be doing? oh never mind I know, none of you people send your kids to evil goverment schools right? Home schooling for Keith Jr where "the truth" is taught. So I suppose in that case you are right, school districts don't matter.

Carry on with the conspiracy theories.

Actually homeschooled kids overall end up with higher income jobs and score higher on college admissions tests. So I'm not sure why taking a shot at homeschooling is relevant here.

"Uh, Suzanne, how come you haven't returned my calls? You didn't tell us that the ARM would adjust up three full points and that our monthly payment would go up 50%!
We tried to refi but the neighborhood prices have gone down and our appraisal won't cover what we owe on the house! We can't afford to sell and take the loss on the house. Plus, since we missed a car payment to pay for this hellhole (next to a great school!) our FICO got trashed, so even if we could qualify for a refi we couldn't afford the new payement either!
Suzanne? Please return my calls! Nobody told us about the pre-payment fee, either! The guy that moved in next door to me picked up his house for a THIRD less than what we paid for a year or two ago and his kids will go to the same school as mine.........until we get foreclosed on and have to relocate to the projects.........
Suzanne, dammit, answer the phone!"

A few HPers are over the top but the vast majority just advocate living within your means and not overextending yourself for a house way too big for you and your family.

So anon 9:44, those people's kids have zero chance of ending up better off in the long run than most advocates of this blog.

Most public school kids barely know the basics when they graduate so sure, you can have your "government school".

If you consider better off as being loaded with debt, working until they drop dead, stress, heart disease, high divorce rates over finances, and not knowing how to find China on a map, then yeah, I suppose their kids will do just fine.

In 2010 the situation will have gotta so bad that gold will have little value.

You better have ammo, canned food, and pornography as they will be the new currency. I'm talking about the old hard copy porn too, internet will no longer exist as we know it!

Prepare while you can! Go to costco now for supplies!

You should "sticky" this video somehow.

Yep, had to play it again, there are a lot of new posters, but are they believers?

The HemHawFingerAndToesCrossed one is at it again, talking out both sides of his face and ass all at once.

These all from the same article.

CNN: Even though the market contracted, 2006 still didn't bring the first yearly price drop since the National Association of Realtors started tracking the statistic in 1968.
D.L.: Nope. It's amazing isn't it? People thought we'd get it because they thought the bubble was going to burst, but it never happened.

CNN: But many think we still have a long way to go.
D.L.: A quarter of the country is still feeling pain, and I can't guarantee that it's going to be over by the end of 2007 for some of those areas.

CNN:So you don't think California and Florida could bring the whole country down?
D.L.: They'll bring themselves down.

What about the problems in the subprime market?
D.L.: ...someone asked me something about interest-only loans. I said, they're kind of dangerous and you have to be careful. Someone rose their hand and said, Did you know that in Atlanta, the percentage of interest-only loans in 2005 was 40 percent of the market? Atlanta didn't even have a boom. That's when I knew we were in trouble.

CNN:What do you predict for price appreciation for 2007?
D.L.: My forecast is 1.4%

Another example of the HP over the top hysteria.

Man, I love that look the wife gives the husband, the "what do you have to say to that you idiot" look when he is trying to come up with arguments against buying the place. Priceless.

I would have shed that bitch like a thick winter coat on a summer day in downtown Phoenix.

I never saw it either--I thought it was a reference to Flipper Nation.

The ad is perfect, though. At this point in the crash ... mm, I savor it.

"The aftermath of Tuesday's major sell-off will linger for the next couple of days," said Peter Cardillo, chief market economist at brokerage house Avalon Partners. He added, however, that "fear of recession is overblown".

Somebody want to define "good school district" for us here. How DO you define a "good" school district in the good old U.S. of A?

I always like the realtwhore listings when they throw in "good school district" or "nearby great schools". The only thing that I see in America that’s great about the educational system is that it is GREATly over built, it's members are GREATly overpaid, GREATly over benefited, GREATly over pensioned, GREATly over powered, and GREATly under regulated and/or controlled, and held GREATly unaccountable!

And don't get on me about voting new people into the school boards.
School boards in PA are totally controlled/brainwashed by the God almighty teacher's union and the administrators! Newcomers elected to the boards pledging "education reform" (top of the "most despised statements" list of the education establishment) quickly learn to BLEND into the fold once elected and never be heard from again.

"Good Schools".

In the U.S.?

What a f*cking joke!

I've seen that woman in the commercial just recently...she's out cruising in Manhattan near 10th Avenue in the 40s near the exit-entrance roads to the Lincoln Tunnel...she offers hummers in the raw for $20 as she has a big mortgage to support while hubby moonlights at the Wal-Mart collecting stray shopping carts.
Ah!!...the American Dream of home "ownership"!

OMG...Anon 9:44pm...Suzanne?

I would buy it myself if I wanted one that much, what a whining, pitiful co-dependent woman.
Thankfully, I do not have to beg if I want something, I am single!!!!!

No such thing as good or bad public schools? So you morons think a high school in Watts and a high school in La Jolla will provide the same quality education?

OK. If you say so.

More than any other RealtWhore commercial, this one best exploits the motivations of home debtors -- better schools and more room. They're doing it for the kids. This featurette has become the "Casablanca" of real estate ads.

It is unclear whether the Pussywhip family is moving from a rental or a home they currently "own." However, one thing is sure, they can't afford the move, in spite of Suzanne's comforting reassurance.

If that bitch in the flick was under stress then, just imagine her stress level now that her ARM has adjusted and she owes more than her stucco palace is worth.

Last line during fade to black (hubby): "did you see the size of that garage?"

Maybe they can live in the three-car gargage and rent out the house? SUV getting repo'd anyway.

p.s. - the school debate is pointless. A year later, and their kids are still too young to attend.

The only thing missing from the commercial is the wife whining about how great the kitchen's granite countertops are.
