Parody, spoof, lampoon REIC

From Wikipedia,

In contemporary usage, a parody is a work that imitates another work in order to ridicule, ironically comment on, or poke fun at the work itself, the subject of the work, the author or fictional voice of the parody, or another subject. As literary theorist Linda Hutcheon (2000: 7) puts it, "parody...is imitation with a critical difference, not always at the expense of the parodied text." Another critic, Simon Dentith (2000: 9), defines parody as "any cultural practice which provides a relatively polemical allusive imitation of another cultural production or practice."

Parody exists in all art media, including literature, music, and cinema. Cultural movements can also be parodied. Light, playful parodies are sometimes colloquially referred to as spoofs. The act of such a parody is often called lampooning.

From the It's a Great Time to Generate a Commission ad: "Can't you just smell the happy?"

So that's what I've been smelling.

I thought I stepped in something.

That is how I read the real NAR ad. Help us generate commissions.

Won't it be funny when all these starving realty-hooers can't make the payments on their own mortgages and start getting foreclosed on? Same thing with mortgage brokers.

I'd love to see a stat on what percentage of realtors and mortgage brokers are in some stage of foreclosure and then watch that stat steadily rise over the course of the next few years.

Paul -

Why will it be funny when people are being foreclosed on? There's nothing funny about that.

I can see how that may be ironic, but to take pleasure in others' pain? That's just mean, hateful and spiteful.

F off anon.

foreclosure is as funny as f*ck.

These are the same group of people that said buy now or be priced out forever.

I hope they get a big steamin' pile of foreclosure on their front steps.

To you friend...it sounds that your anger may be stemmed from your incapacity to afford to buy when the price was right. Now that the cost of a home has risen greatly, the pain you feel of being priced out of the market may cause you to want to lash out at all the fortunate people who got a hold of the right market at the right time. True...many people will loose their homes because a lack of planning...and one mans loss is another mans gain, so instead of being angry...start saving your pennies so you can afford to buy one of those realtors foreclosures....
