The Bush Administration - governing over a $50 trillion deficit and hemmoraging, about to plunge the US deeper into debt with a "stimulus package"

The US dollar will be toilet paper after Bush is done with it.

We will never pay off this debt.

Any country or individual who buys US debt is a fool.

And you should all be sickened (and frightened) by the corrupt leaders in DC on both sides of the aisle.

At the very time we needed competent leadership with a firm grip on the wheel, we get The Worst President Ever - the most reckless, ignorant, corrupt, misguided and destructive president in the history of the United States.

If our wildly unpopular leaders in DC send out $500 rebate checks before the November election in a desperate attempt to keep hold of power, American should rise up, take their $500 checks for supplies, and do what the Declaration of Independence tells them to do in times like these. But of course they won't - America's Top Model is on ya know.

God help us all - and your kids' kids' kids' kids who will be suffocating under the debt run up by this selfish, greedy and disgusting generation.

Future Americans will hate us for what we've done.

Bush Administration Considering a Possible Economic Stimulus Package to Ward Off Recession

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Bush administration, faced with a deteriorating economy and a big jump in unemployment, said Friday it was considering an economic stimulus package that might include tax cuts to ward off a recession.

Bush in his first term included a tax refund of up to $300 per person to combat the impact of the 2001 recession. Private economists said another round of tax cuts would be the best approach to get money to people who would spend it.

Some suggested a one-year tax rebate of $500 might provide a sufficient shot-in-the-arm for the economy. But they stressed that the proposal would have to be passed quickly.

"The critical time is the first part of this year. If it doesn't get passed until just before the November election, it will be totally useless," said David Wyss, chief economist at Standard & Poor's in New York.

FLASH: Bush and Paulson to announce new comedy routine tomorrow - first joke is to pretend that housing gamblers get a 5-year freeze on toxic loans

Don't believe it.

Just like the "Super SIV", "Mission Accomplished" and Bush's "Social Security Reform", this bank-failure-avoidance-scheme is going to be just another epic failure of this incompetent and corrupt administration.

There will be lawsuits filed as early as tomorrow against such a stupid plan (just think if you took a toxic loan out the day before the window started, or a bondholder who expected contracts to be worth something), and some hilarious unintended consequences - namely EVERY SINGLE HOMEDEBTOR WITH AN ARM SHOULD STOP MAKING PAYMENTS TODAY.

Plus many of these homedebtors so graciously "helped" are going to walk away anyway - because the value of their home is plummeting so hard and so fast it's better to turn in the keys and tell the bank to F off.

Bush to outline 5-year rate freeze plan: sources

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush is expected to outline on Thursday a plan to freeze mortgage rates for five years for many U.S. homeowners facing sharp increases in their monthly payments, industry sources said on Wednesday.

Final details of the plan are still being worked out after a trade group that represents large mortgage investors presented its framework for implementing a broad rate freeze to the Treasury Department late on Tuesday, the sources said.

The sources, who are familiar with details of the trade group's pitch, said the plan envisions covering subprime loans taken out between January 1, 2005, through the end of this past July, with rates that are due to reset over the coming 2-1/2 years.

An estimated 1.8 million U.S. homeowners who took out loans with low teaser rates face pricey loan resets next year alone, the Federal Reserve has said. Officials fear half a million borrowers risk losing their homes.

Will the Great Housing Crash make people hate this guy even more than The Great Iraq F*ck-Up?

Just asking...

Funny how our first MBA president was also the one who presided over the destruction of the US currency, manufacturing sector and economy. Guess that shows you the value of a fancy degree.

Note to the last few Bush supporters and hard-core GOP: This idiot has set your party back 40 years. Your party is no longer capable of winning general elections. You're now the party of fiscal mismanagement AND terrible foreign policy. Want to fix it? Ron Paul.

Bush Disaproval Highest on Record

A majority of Americans now strongly disapprove of George W. Bush’s performance as president, the highest number in the history of the Gallup poll.

Fifty percent of Americans now say they strongly disapprove of President George W. Bush’s performance as president. This marks the highest percentage of Americans strongly disapproving of his performance since Bush came into office. Although Gallup has not measured the intensity of job approval regularly over the years, this “strongly disapprove” number is among the highest Gallup has measured for presidents, going back to Lyndon Johnson.
