Thanks for posting it!

You mean you don't have to be a slave?

Keith - I never posted before but have been reading since June 2006. Love the debates/conversations on this blog - thank you to everyone! Have learned tons about the housing market and the economy!
I love the Dancing videos as well - big write up on these in the NY Times a few weeks ago and have totally enjoyed what this guy has done. Thanks for posting both to your site! Hope everyone enjoys! Oh and speaking of videos - have you seen the Paris Hilton one that came out today in response to McCain? Clever!

This guy is a cause of global warming.

I have my eyes on Machu Picchu.

Hmm lets see - remarkably Ive already been to about 1/2 the places he's been too plus awesome places like Talinn, Estonia & Santorini, Greece AND I am a homeowner (bought 7 years ago, will have paid of in 10) - life is sweet

Bwahahahaha!!!

Btw Petra, Machu Piccu & Tikal were spectacular. Ephesus (Turkey) is overrated - Cappadocia about 600 miles to the east is way cooler.

Aw schucks, he's doing the happy carbon footprint dance! Everyone smile!

Look at me I'm dancing all over the planet - kind of like dancing on top of a dead animal after the kill. Except the kill in this case was the Earth.

I bet just one of the many flights he took emitted more CO2 than if he had driven an SUV for a year. But that's just a guess.

Why doesn't this little prick get a freakin job like the rest of us? He's probably cruising around the world on daddy's dime. Bastard.

carbon offsets. should be mandatory on all flights.

remember though, buses, trains and planes are going to go somewhere no matter if you get on board or not.

unlike your car.

that said, planes are one of the major causes of the problem, especially the explosion of low-fair airlines. governments must step in to at least offset the damage with mandatory offset fees.

He's got corporate sponsorship from a gum company.

He's just part of the advertising machine.

He's not "traveling" as much as he's being carted from place to place to act like an organ grinders monkey.

In case anyone wants to see the newest videos - that's the old one.....

What does this silly man's adventure have to do with renting vs. owning? You're starting to grasp at straws for topics.

blogger said...

He made the first video on his own, then took sponsorship money from a gum company to pay for his second trip

Man, there's haters out there for everything. Get help.

And the point of this post is to show that you make choices in life. Some choose to work 60 hours a week in a job they hate, pay half of their income toward a debt-trap, overspend to impress their neighbors, and never have the time or money to go out and experience the world.

Others choose differently.

If this video doesn't inspire you, you might as well go ahead and die now, as you're already dead.

Man, I am jealous, this guy went to 7 continents. I have only been to 4. Life sucks!!!!

What? Go dancing and visiting third world countries like India, China, Peru, Egypt, etc...???? No thank you. I am happy and comfortable living here in the greatest nation on the face of this earth; the good ole U.S. of A.

This blog is getting really dumb. Keith you talk about how housing porn has lead to over consumption in relation to shelter. Why don't you show this to everyone and see how bad credit card debt gets due to tourism.

blogger said...

Ever hear of hostels?

Travel can be real, real cheap when you want it to be

You can travel in E. Europe and live well for significantly less than the cost of living in any city in America (or W. Europe)

Man, there's a lot of closed-minded haters on HP today. Realtors must be getting bored

Agree completely.

I thought most who visited this blog had a more enlightened view. Hopefully, the silent masses see the truth....

There is a difference between traveling the world and the trips many people overconsume on. It's not going places that costs so much, but the 5-star resorts, expensive meals etc. Stay at hostels, self-cater and buy your meals from street vendors and you'll not spend nearly as much money.

Thank you for your site.
Thank you for the video.

I am grateful for that which you so freely share with strangers.

And you will also live like a 19 year old kid. Which is great if you're 19. Sucks when you're an adult.

Get it now?

Food from street vendors in the 3rd world. Have you lost your mind?

Yeh. I'll rent too so I have an extra $2 million a year to travel the world. I'm guessing his rich parents don't charge him rent.

When I bought my first house (at the very bottom of the 90's housing crash) a mortgage payment was 25% less than renting. I sold that house halfway up the bubble for 250% of my mortgage balance. Needless to say my present mortgage is half of what it would cost to rent my house. And what I could have spent on rent in those 12 years is a lot more than what my house cost. So what's the advantage of renting again?

What! You've never eaten monkey meat off a grill on a the back street in olongapo? Man, you need to unplug the computer, leave your moms basement and go live a little.
