Remember when people said I was nuts for saying Obama would take the nomination (and then the presidency)? Well, tonight he clinches the nomination..

Congrats to Barack Hussein Obama on taking the Democratic nomination. The best person won. And the image of America around the world has just soared.

I'd say I agree with 60% of what Obama supports, vs. about 30% for McCain, and 90% for Ron Paul.

Should be a fun and interesting general election. And even if you don't support Obama, I think you can be proud of America today.

The long Bush winter is almost over...

You agree with 60% of what obama has done or says he will do?

Do you agree with Obama/Hatch that allowed people in bankruptcy to continue to pay tithing to their cults?

Do you agree with making the US Economy centrally planned? Giving the FED more power? Housing gambler bailouts? Illegal immigration? Racism towards whites? Appeasing Iran? Staying in Iraq?

You support spending massive government money to bail out housing speculators, appeasing islamic dictators and 70% income tax rates? What is in the rest of the 60%?

In all honestly, I think politics nowadays is a big pile of steaming aromatic batpoopoo. Where was everyone 8 years ago when Bush and Gore were running for the White House and people said that Bush would be a libertarian, or how he would be a tyrant and throw people into jail and turn Amurica into a dictatorship. Did that ever happen? Not really. Or how about Kerry and his flip-flopping on stuff (I voted for Badnarik) and his remarks on the Iraq War? He was full of it. What about the shenanigans pulled during the 2000 and 2004 elections? Not many people seemed to care. Remember when Bush tried to open up another institution similar to the Federal Reserve back in 2004 or so? Never happened. Big pile of batpoopoo!

Mexicans and illegals overruning the country? The state governments can do something about it. If Texas and California and NM and Arizona are such bada$$ states, then do something about it and drop the tacos and BBQ sauce. ID theft is rampant? Look at the fraud in the housing market. Both Wall Street/Big Gov and the Middle class fraudulently bid up the price of housing, and both will get sucked down by it. As they say, "there is no honor among theives".

People keep crying and whining about freedom, patriotism, God, frugality, change, bipartisanship, tolerance...it's all BS and you know it. They're mad because gas is at $4 a gallon and they got caught in a Ford Excursion (that they bought with bogus money from a HELOC) or they're mad because the middle class is losing it's entitlements. I remember how they acted ten years ago when America was supposedly a freer country (NOT). Gas was at $1 a gallon, housing wasn't to the moon, we were beating up Bosnia instead of Iraq, reality TV was new, etc. They treated the rest of the world like dirt. Now it's payback time. These are the same yuppie types who whine about Bush but turned around and screw their coworkers. I want to believe that someone who bitches about unaffordable housing but pays their help peanuts isn't someone to take seriously. Instead of all the Social Security BS and all the tax loopholes and games, just make minimum wage $12 an hour and forget it with trying to hold people's hands on their personal finances.

You people make it like it's the end of the world is nigh. I can't see how a 95% drop in housing prices would wipe out life on earth. Who cares about the economy? Half of it is scams and BS. I think Americans need quite a bit more optimism in thier lives (too much MTV Real World catfights, no?) and stop it with expecting me or the rest of the world to feel sorry for your money problems.

(Batpoopoo warning here) $4 gasoline? Blame the hedge funds in Manhattan, the same people who bitch about Bush and the War and GM going down the toilet and the economy going to hell like it does every other year...geeze. Mad at the pork spending and big Gov? Go blame the commie pinko "Red States" who preach limited government but are a bunch of welfare queens. In fact, I think the media has politics all backwards. I think the Democrats and Greens are the Nazis and the Republicans and Constitution Party are the communists. And areas of the country that are 'libertarian', hold onto your wallet and butt because they ain't.

I think 2008 is the best time to be alive. Bush is an idiot and his regime is corrupt, yes, but it pales compared to earlier presidents. Go back to the 1800s and if you spoke out against the US government, you were tossed into jail (history backs me up here, this isn't made up). As far as politics go, most people just want cheap stuff for nothing, and they'll make up a bunch of excuses as to why they are entitled to this or that. Obama/Hillary/McCain/Ron Paul are no more competent to running a country than the 17 yr old at the local Best Buy. But then again, that's what America elects into office, basically Best Buy employees. They make up all sorts of stuff and flashy sales pitches and then...nothing happens, or they sell you a bunch of junk. If your fellow citizens are stupid enough to let Best Buy employees run roughshod on you from DC, then it's no wonder why America has problems every year.

It's like a bad soap opera.

About darn time. We dodged a major bullet by not getting either Clinton or Romney.

For those who don't know it yet, the general election is going to be a landslide.

McCain has exposure on a number of things that haven't made the national news yet, and people are ready for change

I'm going to stick with my original prediction and say that Obama will win with 43 states.

Obama is a socialist, Paul is a Constitution-based libertarian. HUGE differences in their worldviews.

I was one of those HPers who (generally conservative) wanted Hillary to win (she may still make it) mostly because of Bills sex scandal, for me a woman who has gone thru all the pain she has, remained with her husband, ran for congress for the state of NY and won, is the kind of person I would like to see as our president.

I had miscalculated the impact of the Saudi funding in our collages, I am not sure the ‘youth vote’ will win against McCain, but then again the Obamah candidacy has become a little of a ‘rock start like’ excitement and that gets the herd to follow the ‘trend’.

This reminds me a lot of when Dinkins became mayor of NYC, the city fell back about 10 years of progress in his first year as mayor.

If you all think this Country is having problems now, we will reach an entire new bottom if Obamah wins.

This has nothing to do with race, there are many many black men and woman who are qualified to be president.

Fact remains that the US is the most powerful country on this planet, and Obamah simply does not have the back bone to take on this level of responsibility.

The silver lining is that just like in the Dinkins days there were soo many opportunities because of the short term negative cloud over NYC, so will there be incredible ‘invest in America’ opportunities if he’s president.

And just like Giuliani won by a landslide at the first election opening after Dinkins so will a hard core conservative win in a landslide immedialty after 4 years with Mr Empty suite Obamah.

Hillary can still be our president, and the Christian conservative right will have 8 more years of material on the radio.

I'm really confused with your Obama support.

Look at Barney Frank and the dems. They're all for the housing bail out too. Most of the bust is in blue states. Greenspan served under the democrats too. Franklin Reines who screwed up Fannie Mae was Clinton's cbo. So, the housing bubble is really all over the spectrum.

Now, the thing I've got against McCain is his immigration stance. But its just as bad as Bush which is what we have now. Obama has the exact position -- though I think his position is racially motivated versus the greed motivator of the country club republicans.

So, looking at the other issues and I'm agreeing with McCain. Plus, I don't like it when Obama puts down middle class white Pennsylvania voters.

Ya, there is the war in Iraq. But wars don't stop because you have a vote. And the democrats voted for the war anyways. Except for a handful. Do you think Reverend Wright wants peace or America to loose the war? There has to be something behind godamn America.

Obama is going to be smoked. Chicago politics are not going to have appeal. Hey, I contributed to the Ron Paul campaign.

Obama quit his church. Is Obama going to a mosque after becomming president?

Do I vote or not? That is the question.

I like obama's positive attitude and message of hope but when the rubber hits the pavement I agree with McLoser more often than hussien.

Hussien speaks in platitudes while McLoser is a realist. troops in iraq for 100 years? absolutely if we keep the same foreign policy as we have had over the last 60 years. Heck, we still have troops in Germany. Hussien isn't going to make such a radical change so even with him there will still be some number of troops in iraq. Only RP would make such a radical policy change and even then I doubt he could get congress to go along with it.

I may still write in RP because he is my true choice.

Obama is an empty suit attached to a teleprompter that will be a one term disaster much along the lines of Carter. His naive doe-eyed outlook is almost as bad as his supporters' bleating "change, change, change".

Change isn't always for the better, folks. Sometimes it's for the worse.

I just hope he won't be as bad as Bush.

bailout for FBs
higher income tax
higher cap gains tax
higher gas tax
higher SS tax
meeting with Iran
banning guns

If you agree with 10% or more of what this neo-marxist stands for it is a sad day for this blog

Anonymous said...

agreeing with 90% of Ron Paul and 60% of Obama is impossible. One is for higher taxes, one is for lower taxes. One is for limited government, the other for intrusive government. One is for abortion on demand, the other is opposed to abortion. One is for a federal govt bailout of housing, the other is opposed. Go down the list of every major issue and the two of them are on opposing sides. They agree on one thing and that is they're anti-war. A war which by the way even the Washington Post has aknowledged is going a lot better today than even 3 months ago.

Kudos to the previous annonymous poster's wonderful synopsis.

Live your life folks and stop this petty political back and forth. It is all bull$hit.

Is Dubya and idiot? Yes. Was Gore that much better? Not really. (For someone so obsessed with global warming, he sure does waste a lot of energy powering his 20,000 sqr. ft. house)

And now we have McCain and Obama. But when you set aside all the political shenanigans and cut through the double-talk, you will see that ALL politicians are the same. There is little to distinguish one from the other.

So as I said, just do your best to live your life and enjoy it. You will never have the 'ideal' candidate. It will never happen except in King Arthur stories. Truly 'great' leaders are extraordinarily rare. We have had over 40 presidents yet how many can we truly claim were 'great'? Lincoln? Maybe Washington?

In the end, the existing system will never produce viable leaders because those who go seeking power always do it for the wrong reasons. Not to make a difference, but to satisfy their own ego. It's all a giant, narcissistic dance.

The truly great leaders of our history were those that never sought power or prestige. It was those people who had power thrust upon them and they stepped up. Good luck finding that in any election pool from either party.

Now I am curious: what belligerent demands have we, as a nation, conceded to or planning to concede to pertaining to Islamic dictators?

The only one's I can think of are all the consessions and side-bar deals we made with the Saudi Royal Family. Oh, and then there's that Iran weapons deal that happened in the 1980s.

But those are ok, right? Must some type of non-appeasing appeasement.

Of course you would agree with McSame, because you want to continue living off of the backs of the poor and middle class in your beach community and continue bitching about Scottsdale from your pulpit. You sir are a hypocrite and a basic pain in the ass. Why don't you take all the spare time you have to hang out and write dopey books, and actually do something that may change the world or has any small amount of courage attached to it. At least Obama worked in some capacity to try and change things in Chicago. What meaningful thing have you ever done? Saying Obama is the head of the Taliban is as dumb as your generalities about everything else you write. So does that mean that you are the head of the American Nazi Party? You are a perfect example of the reason this country is in the dumps currently - too many rich white elitist's on the pulpit but doing NOTHING meaningful. I think the only thing that could top the arrogance you claim Scottsdale has is your own ego.

It's funny, all the stock market blogs I've been listening too lately have basically been ASSUMING an Obama win in November. Everything's all "...maybe Obama will change this law" and "...maybe Obama will appoint so-and-so to be Treasury Sec."

One conjecture was what if Obama (or even McCain, not mentioned) decided to appoint Ron Paul as Treas Sec. He'd abolish the Fed?

Anyway, I'm definitely liberal but I'm not so sure it's a definite win for Obama. I think the country and especially Republicans are may still be far to RACIST. Obama in the general race will get all the blacks out to vote, but the racists running the polls with find new inventive ways to turn them away, while the racists themselves will also be out in force for McCain, even against their own economic interest.

Many Repubs, even some of my friends, will simply vote for McCain out of foolish habit. They'll ignore the Keating 5, his Reaganesque senior moments, the cozy relationship with lobbyists and big business, and just figure "he'll cut my taxes." Which of course he won't, he'll RAISE our effective tax rates with inflationary corporate welfare, further destruction of the environment, lack of alternative energy progress, allowing us to fall further behind in global competition and more wars. Only the richest Americans will catch a continuing break.

Four More Wars!
Four More Fears!
Four More Tears!

If Obama doesn't win, it'll be because he's not using his nickname. All elite-looking/sounding presidents (mostly Democrats) need a nickname to make them seem less scary to the (Republican) masses of modest intellectual ability and comfort level. Otherwise, they'll vote for the good-ol' boy on the Republican ticket.

Barack should start using his nickname immediately, just like Jimmy, Bubba, Jack, and Harry (and also Ike, Abe, and Dubya.)

I think Paul and Obama are on completely different ends of spectrum.

HA!!! Does it really matter which puppet is on the stage for the next act? The children don't care as long as they have their toys and candy.

Here is what I think is going to happen, let's say around September.

False flag attack. US retaliates. Election postponed. Markets crumble. Oil goes to $200. Martial law. New world order.

Actually that probably won't happen. I wish it would. There actually would be some "change" that would occur.

Either that or Obama will be assassinated. I can't see how all the racist rednecks in this country would allow him to become president. Maybe they will just all vote for McSame. I am sure the disenfranchised Hitlery people will vote for him. Just for fun.

Either way they are all crooks, we are all screwed and you know what? WE DESERVE IT. The majority of the people in this country are lazy slobs and so selfish and self centered that they don't even have a clue of what's going on.

I occasionally ask people here at work about current events and half of them don't even know what I am talking about. Ask them about NASCAR or the price of gas and then they have something to say. It just amazes me.

One person told me that they weren't going to vote for Obama because he is Muslim. :) Funny stuff.

Do you seriously think that Obama has a chance against that kind of brain power?

You all know Obama is a socialist, right? What is the socialist's vision of the American dream? Take from the rich, give to the government, make the poor reliant on the government. Spread the pain and reward even over the public until there is no reward for hard work and no penalty for laziness.

Welfare programs felt good to Democrats. Helping the poor and needy. But the result was a message sent to dead-beat dads that they could skip out on their families and the government would take care of them. Talk about an inconvenient truth!

it is pretty damn pathetic that we cannot seem to come up with any viable candidates these days. is this the best we can get? gads, its embarassing. obama and mccain? is that it? we are finished as a nation.

Obama is pure CFR and AIPAC. He is puppet for the globalists who are hell bent on a North American Union which will crash the standard of living in the US and eliminate what freedom that we have left.

+1.

How many times did you hear him described as a "Rising Star" long before he ran for pres. How many times has any politician been described that way? Obama was planned and he's going to be just as bad as Hillary or Bush.

He's just another planned presidential pawn by the Bilderbergers. If you don't know what that is, google it.

Bush stripped our constitutional rights, now Obama is going to push a socialist agenda that will shred the fabric of what this country was founded on and what it stood for. Prepare for Carter II. Got popcorn?

Obama is a socialist communist. He will run the country further into the ground. There will be no more middle class.

I would like to see all of these loudmouth Hollywood liberals lose their money and have it redistributed to the poor in section 8 housing. It would be nice to see some of Hollywood live in the real world again.

Hillary is showing a level of commitment to family and everything else she does that places her way above the other chicken sh!t candidates.

oh please, hillary would have left bill if she thought it would have helped her become president.

the usa is now officially a third world nation. i had my suspicions with katrina. an african, not a black american descended from slaves, will now be president with a white woman as vp. still waiting for 12-21-2012. rem said it best. its the end of the world as we know it and i feel fine.

The superdelagates have not voted at the Convention yet. It's a little presumptuous at this point to think that Hitlery won't try to change a few minds before the Convention. Remember that Superdelegates are uncommitted until they actually vote. Loyalties can change until then. Just because the media spins the count does not make it so. The Convention is the deciding vote.

Thank God we won't have to watch bobblehead Hillary and listen to her screeching on the news 24/7 for the next 6 months.

The question is....will Obama have Hilary as his running mate???

Remember when...almost everyone surrounding Bill and Hilary during White Water happened to die off one way or the other?

God please have mercy!

I will breathe more easily only when a stake has been driven through Hitlery's corpse. Until then Obama better watch his back.

I have not read or heard anything that suggests that Obama has the temper tantrum problems that McSame and Billary have. So for that I give him credit. But I don't like his politics. I'll be voting "None of the above" come November.

Not to mention, individuals who knew details regarding White Water went to jail because they wouldnt reveil information about the clintons....

Do we really want the them back in white house....again??

I love how anybody who won't vote for Obama is percieved as being "racist."

Maybe I just don't want to vote for him because I think that he sucks. He sucks big time.

He is too busy printing posters preaching "change" to actually put forth any worthwhile ideas other than taxing us into oblivion.

There are plenty of black politicians that I would vote for over McCain. Obama is not one of them. The "racist" monkier is being so over-used that it no longer carries any meaning.

all these things happen and the men in the back room behind the curtains control everything. all of this political intrigue is just a big show for our benefit, to make the dumb sheeple think it is somehow legitimate. it is not of course. as long as we cannot control our own money,(which by the way is in our constitution) then we will always be slaves and our politicians will always be puppets on strings that do what the bankers want them to do...it is just that simple.

long beach, ca:
"the usa is now officially a third world nation."

You are smart. You are wise. You have an accurate and balanced world view.

Sorry, but saying something does not make it true.

Hey, if you believe that the USA is a 3rd world country, your options are wide open! In other words, go live in a real 3rd world country and see how you like it. I guarantee you will kiss American ground if you live to make it back.

The US and world is still dealing with the messes created by Jimmy Carter. 25+ years later!!
4 years of Obama, and it will be the same thing. Decades later, the world will still be trying to deal with the disasters this marxist racist unleashes.

I figure an Obama presidency and Iran will make its big move on Lebannon and have its proxy army, Hezbollah, pull a military coup.
Obama will sit back and do the same thing that Carter did with Iran. Sit back and do nothing.
30 years from now while Lebannon is a hellhole run by mullahs and every other minority has been genocided, Obama will be running around giving speeches about how we need to dialogue with the terrorists running Lebannon.

In 4 years, things will be exactly the same. You'll be worse off, we'll have more war, and the "elite" will have more control.

And in 4 years, you'll throw the rascals out and replace them with another set of rascals pursuing the exact same goals.

How many times do you have to repeat that cycle before you learn?
