Is everything spinning out of control? (question courtesy of the Associated Press)

Is everything spinning out of control?

Interesting, isn't that what HP'ers have been saying for awhile?

And remember, to hit bottom, we have to hit bottom (got that, NAR?). And when we've hit PANIC and capitulation and despondency, you'll know what to do. You'll be the calm one. You'll be the prepared one. If you're still standing that is, and not out getting drunk with your disheveled and despondent countrymen.

Here's the AP story on the wire today:

By ALAN FRAM and EILEEN PUTMAN, AP

Is everything spinning out of control?

Midwestern levees are bursting. Polar bears are adrift. Gas prices are skyrocketing. Home values are abysmal. Air fares, college tuition and health care border on unaffordable. Wars without end rage in Iraq, Afghanistan and against terrorism.

Horatio Alger, twist in your grave.

The can-do, bootstrap approach embedded in the American psyche is under assault. Eroding it is a dour powerlessness that is chipping away at the country's sturdy conviction that destiny can be commanded with sheer courage and perseverance.

The sense of helplessness is even reflected in this year's presidential election. Each contender offers a sense of order — and hope. Republican John McCain promises an experienced hand in a frightening time. Democrat Barack Obama promises bright and shiny change, and his large crowds believe his exhortation, "Yes, we can."

Even so, a battered public seems discouraged by the onslaught of dispiriting things. An Associated Press-Ipsos poll says a barrel-scraping 17 percent of people surveyed believe the country is moving in the right direction.

Order out of chaos...

You people will not be able to understand what is happening in the world until you watch this:

The Road To Tyranny

It shows conclusively that we are being lied to and manipulated constantly. It shows conclusively that Bush and Clinton are traitors and that what we should fear the most is a rogue government.

This video includes analysis of the inconsistencies and lies from the Oklahoma City bombing - surveillance video and eyewitness testimony that shows Tim McVeigh had Middle Eastern accomplices and how the BATF had prior knowledge.. etc etc..

Then we see similar but even greater inconsistencies and lies when it comes to 9/11. Eyewitness accounts of bombs in the buildings, freefall speed collapses of three steel structured buildings that can only be explained by controlled demolition - the only steel structured buildings to collapse from fire in history, pyroclastic explosion during the collapse of WTC1 and WTC2 that can not be explained by pancake collapse, again evidence of prior knowledge of the 9/11 attacks and the Bush Administration explicitly interfering with the investigation of Bin Laden all on the public record.

You know that there is something very wrong with 9/11 when the perpetrators have still not been apprehended. The FBI admits that it does not have any evidence linking Bin Laden to 9/11 and there has been no real effort to capture Bin Laden.

How about the anthrax attacks that came directly after 9/11? Why has nobody been apprehended and charged with those attacks? Why is it that the anthrax matched the signature of anthrax developed in Fort Detrick?

If you don't have answers to these questions then you have to admit that there is something very wrong with the stories we've been told about OKC, 9/11 and the other events in "Road to Tyranny".

You need to watch this video people. This is not a partisan issue. You may not like the bombastic style of the narrator or the conclusions that are drawn but do not let that interfere with your analysis of the conclusive evidence that is presented.

Yes, it could be much worse. But that's the fear, isn't it, that it will get much worse? People wouldn't be so downbeat if they didn't think that things were going to get worse.

Every once in awhile, and in increasing frequency, it does seem like this is all spiralling out of control.

In a country so reactionary and irrational as to consider a mortgage and lender bailout, how will it have the maturity and discipline to enact the measures necessary to resolve the impending entitlement crisis?

We are so ethno-, geo- and ego-centric that we think our empirialism is doing the world a favour. Look at the great job we did with New Orleans - people in Iowa can expect the same mismanaged relief. While the Burmese government deserves condemnation for it's reaction to their cyclone, we have little right to criticize.

The american system (political, economic, military, etc) seems truly broken.

HOUSING PRICES AREN'T ABYSMAL, THEY'RE STILL OVERPRICED...

AND THE LAMER FORGOT TO MENTION THE 12-20 MILLION ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS RUNNING AROUND LOOSE...

> HOUSING PRICES AREN'T ABYSMAL, THEY'RE STILL OVERPRICED...

But they ARE abysmal for the former "investment" buyers, zero-down mortgage chasers and HELOC addicts. You seem to forget the true purpose of housing - those boxes weren't made for living, they were The Source of Wealth!

And to think, it only took The Conservative Revolution 30 years to destroy our sense of hope, abundance and community.

Last one out, turn off the lights.

The Roman empire lasted 500 years this one barely 100. Stick a fork in it, another one for the history books.

Actually, it's spiraling under *rather good* control.

Notice that 17% are quite pleased with how things are going.

Now back to our regularly scheduled bickering.

Keith, Keith KEITH!!

I have just read some recent information on the Dodd Bailout bill that made my hair curl!

If any story is worth a full-court press in the blogs right now to get the mssg out, it is the fact that they are currently uncovering that Countrywide and BofA basically WROTE the whole damn thing, and handed it to Dodd, who was just the runner...(and a well-paid one at that, having accepted 70K in contributions from these firms.)

No one writes a No Spin article quite like you Keith!! Howabout it???!!!

The globalists used American blood to fight their WW2 and profit from it greatly. We had a golden era from the post war to the the 60s because of this. Since the late 60s and 70s their plan was to destory the world and kill 90% of the population.

These are luciferian twits that are completely insane.

Spiraling out of control?

Not at all.

Bush & his Libertarian buddies are just getting ready to stamp this project "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED".

Hmmmm...I just had an awesome Sunday brunch at the bar/lounge Level 25, which is located on the 25th floor of the Conrad Hotel. Lots of hot women, great food, amazing view from the 25 floor, free Valet for my BMW:

So, what are you underpaid-code monkey-granola bar-eaters, can-size European-studio without A/C-jet setter-wannabes in London, or always-bitching gay-Birkenstock fools whining about now?

Buh buh I thought that you Europeans were soooo sophisticated and intellectuals, and how your socialism works so well. I guess not:

Robert Knox, 18, who acted alongside Daniel Radcliffe in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, became the 28th teenager killed in Britain this year, and the 10th in London to die from stab wounds.

The murder will reignite a debate about youth crime, knives, and whether the criminal justice system is working. Figures obtained by The Telegraph show that out of more than 60,000 people prosecuted for possessing knives since 1997, only nine have been given the maximum jail term.

Things are only spinning out of control for stupid people who are unprepared, or worse, have dug themselves into a hole.

You know, the credit card, HELOC, live 25 miles from work, drive a big SUV to commute crowd.

For those of us who are prepared, this is a glorious time of low (and ever-dropping) prices for large assets like real estate.

People who are f*cked right now need to look in the mirror and take responsibility for their own predicament. I'm so sick of the "It's not my responsibility, it's someone else's fault" b.s.

I love how so many are b*tching about gas prices but if you suggest they cut out Starbucks, sell the SUV, and take public transit instead, they object. Well sorry buddy but it's your own fault. Your excuses are your own.

That comment is completely moronic. Libertarians despise Bush more than the 'liberals' do. Bush has more in common with the Democrat Party than Libertarians.

Anyhow, everything is spinning out of control. Forever? No. But be careful, as this ride is going to get even bumpier for the next 2-3 years before some sense of normalcy arrives.
