Investor's Business Daily calls for formal investigation of MoziloGate, says Dems are "afflicted with corruption"

And the MoziloGate drumbeat grows louder...

BARBARA BOXER AND HARRY REID - YOU CANNOT IGNORE US. AND BARACK OBAMA AND JOHN MCCAIN - YOU BETTER GET ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF MOZILOGATE AND CALL FOR INVESTIGATIONS, AND DO IT QUICK.

YOU WILL INVESTIGATE THESE MATTERS, YOU WILL DO IT PROMPTLY, AND YOU BETTER DO IT BEFORE ANYONE VOTES ON DODD'S $300 BILLION COUNTRYWIDE / HOUSING GAMBLER BAILOUT.

Capiche?

Here's IBD:

A number of top Democrats have been caught with their hands in the cookie jar, suggesting corruption in the party linked to the recent home-mortgage meltdown.

These sweetheart deals cry out for an investigation. Rep. Jeb Hensarling, R-Texas, does too. On Wednesday, he called for hearings to find out who in Congress got "preferential treatment" on mortgages with Countrywide, the nation's largest home lender.

The Democrats' initial response has been to stall. They hope the problem will disappear until after the election. Given the media's lack of curiosity so far — a small handful of news organizations, including our competitor, the Wall Street Journal, have pushed this story ahead — it looks like the Democrats might get their wish.

But the problem won't go away, and neither will we.

These revelations suggest that, at the very least, the Democratic Party is afflicted with a kind of corruption that taints all recent decisions on the subprime crisis. They need to investigate it fully, immediately and without prejudice — or risk having it blow up in their faces.

If the Senate won't investigate the obvious bribery of its own members, then the FBI should

From the FBI:

What is Public Corruption? Public corruption is the breach of the public's trust by a public official, either elected, appointed or under contract, and/or private individual at all levels of government - local, state, and federal, who use their public office for personal gain.

It is a violation of federal law for any federal or state Government Official to ask for or receive anything of value for or because of any official act. Under federal law, the person who offers or pays a bribe is also guilty.

These crimes are the result of deals sealed with whispered conversations, quick handshakes and "under-the-table" money. Because of the secretive nature of a bribery transaction, such crimes are often difficult to detect and even more difficult to prove without the assistance of concerned citizens.

LIARS. Democrats ended corruption in 2006. Nancy Pelosi told me so. Keith must be a tool of the Bu$hco crime family.

E-mail dumbell Boxer with your comments. Tell her SHE WILL BE INVESTIGATED TOO if Mozilogate goes unanswered...

Obama can STILL LOSE in 2008.

Hang then HIGH.

INVESTORS BUSINESS DAILY???

Come on now, Keith. Taking anything other than stock pricing from this rag is a stretch, especially their so called, op ed investigations. I mean, really.

I used to subscribe to IBD during the Cinton administration and, yes, it is a good business paper, but the "news" and "opinion" pages were so full of the most vile, vitriolic venom towards any democrat that I had to cancel. For example, they were still pushing the whole Vince Foster thing, years after no reputable source would have anything to do with it. And have they been silent on the whole scandal ridden Bush administration? I would bet they have been. So, to take one piece of their propaganda, that just "happens" to be dealing with the housing scandal, is, Keith, I think, beneath you.

By the way, I think that the entire Congress, repubilcans and democrats included, should be decimated, in the original Roman sense of the word.

I agree, IBD like the WSJ is a GOP rag, but what'll be delicious is once the investigation starts the GOP names that get caught up in the scandal.

Just watch.

I'm lik a broken record, but it must be drilled into the heads of every single American :

the United States Federal Gov't is the biggest enemy to the people of the USA.

Keith, come on, I too feel that your original post was beneath you. Then after Miner-Tom takes you to task for it and then you say yeah but watch as the Republican names roll out too in the scandal. As true as that probably will be, you still remind me of the kid on the playground spreading a rumor that someone is "Retarded" and then when the teacher corrects you, you turn around and say the guy who told you so-and-so was retarded was also retarded. You know what, I always thought the person in the middle spreading the rumor was the one acting the most retarded!

The point we should all agree on is to stop the bailout bill, and if MozilloGate is a weapon in that fight, then so be it. . .no self-serving bailouts for bad mortgages whether to 10K a year lettuce pickers or rich senators!!!

RE: Public corruption:

The President of the United States is a war criminal who is guilty of treason, bribery and at least 50 other high crimes and misdemeanors.

Is it reasonable to expect justice when the Bush Crime Syndicate is still in power?

I think not!

Wow. Just Wow. Investors Business Daily, the Pravda of the capitalist set, is trying to make hay out of a couple rich democrat Senators who got rich guy deals from a mortgage company. I'm speechless. Shocked beyond belief.

Where was IBD during the last 13 years or republican corruption? Did they simply ignore Abramoff? All the sweetheart deals made at the expense of the taxpayer? Oh, that's right. They were right there getting their deals too.

I love the selective outrage of the conservative brainstems. Poor things can't think their way out a WalMart.

Poor republican/conservatives. All out of ideas, no more power, relegated to their most common role of muckraking and scandal-mongering. Kinda makes me nostalgic for the Clinton years.

THIS is why we are in such a mess in this country, because people get caught up in hyped up media circus. So what if he got a better interest rate than average. If any of you think for one minute that ANY congressman has not gotten a price break on a car, a home repair, a mortgage or something else has just got their head in the sand. EVERY congressman has gotten a break on some cost just because who he is!

Keith,

I'm shocked at how you keep blaming the Dems when the Republicans were in control of congress since Bush came into office. REPUBLICANS WERE MAKING THEIR OWN RULES AND SO THEY MADE RULES THAT BENEFITED THE MORTGAGE INDUSTRY.

There, is that hard to understand. Dems took control of the congress last year, when the DAMAGE was already done.

Why don't you make a deal out of that.

This is a tempest in a teapot over nothing. Every bank/lender had and has the option of waiving fees. It is done frequently for a variety of reasons - none of which are illegal.

And its juvenile to think it was confined to any single party. At a time when there are huge corruption issues on Wall Street, Iraq, etc. this is nothing but a political backstabbing fest.

Keep on digging and let the arrows fly back and forth kids.

Ooooo, ouch, Anon 5:57! So pithy! That one really hurt! Your hit and run insults are too much for me! I may leave and never come back!

Ya f*cking idiot brainstem who can't rebut a single sentence of mine. Typical of the non-intellect that infects you people. What a waste of oxygen and space.

GOP leadership and McCain aren't pushing for an investigation of MoziloGate because they probably know some of their members are toast too (maybe even McCain)

In what looks to be a rough election cycle for Republicans, a Democratic-focused mortgage scandal could be just the break the GOP needs. But no other Republican leader jumped on Hensarling's bandwagon Monday, and aides said they were reluctant to push forward with a probe because they didn't know what it might reveal.

"You have to be very careful about opening Pandora's box," said one House GOP aide. "We could use it [politically], but we'd have to do due diligence on our side."

McCain involved in scandal? (cough cough keating five, cough cough)

It's not like the S&L mess cost us anything near what those sweetheart deals Dodd and Conrad got did.

Investors Business Daily, the Pravda of the capitalist set,

Well, bitteridiot, if there is one thing a commie like you should recognize at forty paces, it's gotta be partisan propaganda.

Oh, so sorry....you're a socialist. My bad.

Che buddy, I feel your pain. If McCain is the best you brainstems could find there's no wonder your conservative revolution has fizzled like a wet firecracker.

And to think. You people were predicting a New Republican Century. Too bad it was cut short by about 80 years.

Wow, so some redneck Texas Senator from DickInBushVille, with a name like 'Jeb' is now spearheading some call to investigate the dems, only the dems? from some hogwash news blip and you hold it up like some glittery boob job!
