HousingPANIC Quote of the Day (propaganda version)

“I still like and admire President Bush. But he and his advisers confused the propaganda campaign with the high level of candor and honesty so fundamentally needed to build and then sustain public support during a time of war"

-Former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan, May 2008

Yeah baby, the "big guns" are starting to speak out (probably out of fear of prosecution for war crimes). Read excerpts from his (S.McClellan) book, it's illuminating.
Still puzzles me how a press secretary can go along for so long with the lies when it was clear to us, common people.

Funny that Lereah and McClellan are both coming clean now

Maybe figured out that their souls would burn in hell for eternity for the damage, deaths and destruction on their hands?

Some are still being good Nazis though:

White House aides seemed stunned by the scathing tone of the book, and Bush press secretary Dana Perino issued a statement that was highly critical of their former colleague.

"Scott, we now know, is disgruntled about his experience at the White House," she said. "For those of us who fully supported him, before, during and after he was press secretary, we are puzzled. It is sad - this is not the Scott we knew."

And yet, at some point, Bushco had a 97% approval rating. That means that the majority of you were behind him. The same majority who's now shoving Obama down our throats.

No but no thanks, I don't follow cults or trends, especially $8 Latte Drinkers, $10k Handbag Celebs, or rappers. Never voted for Bush, never approved him on anything, not even after 9/11, so I'm one of the few who can say that Obama is another Empty Suit. Hahaha! That's funny. I just looove to listen to the endless stream of bullshit on fake conservative radio as they go into damage control mode.

"oooh, how could McClellan say anything bad about El Presidente Bush. He's obviously lost his mind. He's not the same boot-looking, Neoconservative, sycophant that he was when we knew him."

Today Dennis Prager's only defense of Bush was to prattle on about McClellan's "loyalty" or some BS. Then it was back to demonizing the muslim world and elevating Israel as the moral compass of the globe. Man, these clowns make me sick. As funny as the propaganda is to listen to these Machiavellian bastards need to be shown the door!

It's time to take back this country and the Constitution!!

Of course it is. But typically of the average American trapped in the false Left/Right, Red/Blue, Democrat/Republican paradigm you assume that anyone criticizing Bush is a Dem or Obama supporter.

Wrong.

There are many pissed off individuals that are more in line with old school Republicanism than this fake conservative crap that passes for Republican these days. The Republican party is overrun by Marxist Neoconservatives and the evangelical crazies that want to nuke the Islamic world for Israel.

There's also a big difference between propaganda based on lies that drives a country to war and propaganda used to win an election. A VERY BIG DIFFERENCE DUMMY.

BTW - Here's a great interview with Ron Paul at Counterpunch:

McClellan's a flack. I.e., just a smooth talker.

If the press and the president's detractors didn't believe him then (and they didn't), why on earth would they now? Just because he's singing a tune they find more emotionally appealing?

OK... First... huge fan of HP.

However, I really need to take exception to the comparison to Nazis. We may strongly disagree with Bush on most of the things he does, but even to begin comparing him with an architect of mass genocide such as Hitler quite frankly cheapens the enormity of Hitler's despicable acts. I believe bush has abused the public trust, damaged the reputation of America and squandered billions of dollars needlessly in invading Iraq, but compared to Hitler, he's Mother Theresa. If you don't believe me, I suggest typing "holocaust" into your computer, or doing some research into the mass slaughtering of Russians during their invasion there.

Finally... let's reexamine the facts: everybody knows (and Colin Powell knew) that there was no way the U.S. would get any support to simply remove Sadam Hussein (this guy was a bit closer to Hitler, but still a "solid guy" in comparison) just because we wanted to. So, if you'll remember, Bush and Co. switched their rhetoric from "regime change" to "WMD" to find a proper pretext. Unfortunately, most of the country, along with an overwhelming majority of both sides of the aisle in Congress, was simply in the mood to punish anybody, and I mean anybody, in the wake of 9/11, so we let it slide... hindsight is 50/50, but we should all realize, including our members of congress who voted for this war, that we share a bit of blame for this mess.

For those of you upset with the picture of Adolf, don't be so PC. We're talking about propaganda, and in any conversation on that topic, you MUST talk about Nazi Germany.

When I think "propaganda" used to fool and calm the masses, I think:

Nazi Germany
The NAR
Fox News
Bush & Cheney

Propaganda comes in many forms. And America is seeing it in its finest form right now. The recently uncovered use of bought-off military brass to go out and 'sell' the war was probably the most convincing tidbet we've seen.

Propaganda:

Propaganda is a concerted set of messages aimed at influencing the opinions or behaviors of large numbers of people. As opposed to impartially providing information, propaganda in its most basic sense presents information in order to influence its audience. Propaganda often presents facts selectively (thus lying by omission) to encourage a particular synthesis, or gives loaded messages in order to produce an emotional rather than rational response to the information presented. The desired result is a change of the cognitive narrative of the subject in the target audience to further a political agenda

You should really try doing some research into the Bush family before you dismiss comparisons of Bush and Hitler. It's well documented that the Bush family made their fortune by financing the Nazi war machine in a very direct way.

Here is just one good reference:

Immaculate Deception : The Bush Crime Family Exposed

By us, you mean those that want housing prices to go to zero so you can come in and buy and not rent anymore. Who cares if the entire economy falls, just as long as those darn housing prices can come down right?? It is amazing that you will state that we should keep a man sheltered from answering for his crimes who has destroyed this country in so many ways that it will take us years to recover if ever just so it can fit your narrow agenda. The market will take care of housing - bailout or not, however right now the HYPE of the housing crash is causing ENORMOUS COLLATERAL DAMAGE to the economy outside of housing. I am all for the bailout simply because of the psycological effect it will have on other parts of the economy. If you have not figured it out yet, the high oil prices and high commodity prices are a direct result of the fact that speculators cannot make money in anything else other than commodities right now due to the pessimism bubble making everything go down. At least if the bailout comes, it could boost psychological sentiment and the economy, giving the fed the excuse to raise rates, which would boost the dollar, and lower commodity gambling with neccessities. If the economy is somewhat stronger, and we have a President that removes us from our biggest bill by far - this dopey war, we can probably begin stablization. If this pessimisim bubble and continued idiotic war drone on, you can expect higher deficits, higher commodity prices and continued low interest rates. I for one would rather see a couple of fliptards bailed out (they will get theirs anyway) rather than the rest of us have to suffer because the people like you can't get over the "housing bubble".
