Another new HousingPANIC Hero - Representative Tom Feeney from Florida, rising in opposition to the Housing Gambler Bailout Bill

Here's Representative Feeney IN A GREAT GREAT SPEECH railing against using taxpayer money to bail out speculators and mortgage fraudsters, who took out "options" to buy a home (i.e. put no money down) and lost.

The Democrats have a real loser on their hands with these Housing Gambler Bailout plans. The GOP should take this issue and run with it. Too bad their new standard-bearer, Flip Flop McCain, didn't stick to his guns.

The Housing Gambler Bailout is the new Terri Schiavo. Politicians who want to win in November need to get on board against this stinker.

Feeney is my representative here in Central Florida. He is usually a naked opportunist. However, it is refreshing to see him stick to his guns, especially since many of his constituents are the failed flippers and home ATMers. He is facing a real threat this November and this may do him in.

That needs to run on the corrupt MSM instead of stories of poor old people and minorities getting kicked out of their homes. The reality is that 90% of foreclosures are due to speculators, gamblers, liars loans. People like Casey Serin are being bailed out. People living in $700,000 houses are being bailed out. Most of all, Shittybank and CountryFried are being bailed out by having the taxpayers buy the worst loans on their books. We will take the loss on that $600,000 crackhouse in Compton. We will take the loss for that $800,000 condo in Scottsdale. Damn you people. Write your Congressmen and Senators. Write to Dodd and Frank. They control the finance and banking committees in each house of Congress.

I voted for the Democrats in 2006 to because of Iraq. I will vote Republican in 2008 if the Democrats keep pushing this crap. I'm the independent who decides elections.

That's a real Republican, not the Neocon thieves who stole the party.

I bought a townhome I could not afford and took money out from the equity and spent it all. You are a bunch of fools if you think that there won't be a bailout. The bailout is coming whether you like it or not. The real suckers are YOU HP'ers (i.e. folks like you on this board who live with mommy, live in the basement and save every dollar you earn).

I miss that GOP

And now you have a depreciating asset with a large debt obligation attached, or no asset at all and ruined credit.

You showed us.

I'm not sure about that, Nick. While your credit will be trash, my cash will be king. Unlike you, I'll be able to get a loan when the prices are at the bottom - you won't. Granted, the gov is gonna buttfuck us taxpayers but you'll be at the receiving end of that buttfucking yourself if you intend to make a living during the next decade.

So enjoy the "equity" you cashed out, while it lasts. The times of free money for everybody is not coming back anytime soon.

face it HPers, you lost. this bailout is a done deal. you will be living in the 1 bed 1bath shithole for the rest of your unholy lives

This mortgage crisis thing is over blown. 98% of mortgages in this country are in good standing. So what if 2% of mortgages fail? What is wrong with that? since when was lending supposed to be risk free?

Hey stupid, I SPENT ALL THE MONEY I TOOK OUT. Now what? Nothing will happen to me. I am in the process of going through bankruptcy and will soon have my expensive townhouse bailed out. You folks should have done what I did; lived beyond your means and allow someone else who saved their money to foot the bill. America, what a great country!!!!

Don’t count on it housing slave. This smokescreen is designed to keep you in your shitty mortgage while prices fall. Embrace the falling knife.

So what has happened to all of the money you saved? It is going poof because of inflation in our land. Remember, this is America, and in two to three years someone will lend me money once again and I can repeat this process all over again!

hp renting idiots:

you can email, call, write your reps all you want. you know very well they never read any of it.

fact is the bailout is here. you are deluding yourselves if you think in a n election year congress will sit by and watch millions of people lose their homes. but then again you also think renting an apartment is the way to live so who the fuck knows how you people think.

Finally something refreshing coming out of a politician.

We need to make a list of ALL the crooks who are voting for this bailout bill, so we can create an online movement to vote them out of office. Can anyone get the complete list of names so we can start posting here as the HP hall of shame?

Me too. McCain is crap but at least we'll have checks and balances, against the Democrat majority in Congress and Senate. However, I have great expectations that McCain will pick a decent VP like Bloomberg to balance it out.

If Obama becomes prez, he'll be signing all kinds of communist regime programs that benefit only the lazy and irresponsible. The productive and hard-working middle-class is the one who ends up paying for these communist programs since the wealthy is always untouchable. For Democrats, anyone who makes over $40k is considered fair game to suck money and send to Africa.

Those kids rallying for Obama couldn't care less because they live in the basement of their parents and just smoke pot all day. I don't even have to mention the rest of Obama's demographics: rapers, ghetto, $10k Handbag Celebs, communists, etc. Those people couldn't care less about economics or middle-class.

Even a broken clock, yadda yadda . . .

I'm against a bailout too, but don't be fooled into thinking that Feeney actually knows what he's saying. Just the night before this speech, he went on the House floor and tried to blame everything on a civil rights law - a law that didn't even apply to most of the lenders that created this mess.

Observation:

Republicans only act like republicans when they're the minority.

This observation presents a dilemma.
