I'm back. What'd I miss?

Looks like GE f*cked the market today. Oh, what, you mean there's a recession underway? Who'd have thunk. I mean, we're witnessing the bursting of the biggest financial bubble in the history of humanity, I thought it'd all blow over in just a few weeks. Bernanke has our back after all.

Side note, try to get to Strasbourg if you can. Budapest too. Before there's a Starbucks on every corner, and you can still afford it (with your dollars)

We drive up to LA about once a month and traffic has been mysteriously light lately. In fact the last 3 times we left after 4pm and never hit heavy traffic at all. Weird, huh? I guess they really are packing up and leaving.

You didn't miss much Keith but this week more people are learning that there's more to 9/11 than they've been told thanks to Jesse Ventura. A lot of people are learning about the *three* skyscrapers that collapsed that day when previously they rarely heard about WTC7.

I'm sure you've heard the same from many of your friends in Euroland. So what's your opinion Keefer?

you missed a win for the ramen eaters.

Frank,
I think people are just parking the cars when not going to or from work. Gas (87 Octane) to 4 bucks in SOCAL by Memorial Day. We have seen the last of gas < $3.50. At least here in SD.

Been to both, pre-US peso.

The Bear Stearns bailout funk then euphoria is over, everyone is waking up to Starbuck's new cheap 1 buck brew & foregoing the 5 USD lattes. Look for the correction to continue.

Luckily I sold my millions in stocks a few weeks ago when you advised me to be very afraid because of the one month treasury? rate being so low.

Of course the market is up 5% but I'm sure I did the right thing.

Yes?

oh thank you for mentioning Europe. I still have such a warm place in my heart. Real estate - a way to make a living so that we can travel to Europe. I am still sad that the Euro came into existance even though I am sure it saves money in the long run. Here's to traveling in Europe.

Dude,

I have $50k in a Money Market (consists of Govt Bonds) yielding 1.67%!!!

This is Planned Poverty!! I still have to pay tax in this interest income so an effective rate of 1.0% while inflation is at "4%+".

I do not want to buy commodities at the top, or sell Dollars before a bounce.

Where can I invest my hard earned $$$?

In your absence, Keith, a lot of realtwhores began seeing BOTTOM!! Some of them even sighted BOTTOM written on the moon's face!!

A lot of them are heading to Foggy Bottom Subway Station in DC, just to see the word "BOTTOM," coz they worship that word now.

Rumor has it that the NAR is thinking of building a shrine for its million-some members, right on Foggy Bottom Square! Lawrence Yun will be there. Make sure you attend.

Can't get any Foggier than this!

I went to Strasbourg in 2005 after a business trip to Germany. I had always heard about the proverbial "snobby French," but I thought the people in Strasbourg were much nicer than the Germans!

I loved that cathedral, too.

Wild flucuations in the stock market are the norm these days. Up a couple of hundred points one day, down the same the next day. Of course the economy didn't change that much in 24 hours, so it just goes to show the desparation on Wall street.

GE reported an annualized profit of 5.5%.

That's a lot better than my CDs pay.

How many times have you tried to call "Black X-day" so far this year?

I am a proud patriotic American. Why the hell would I want to go to any other country? We have it all here! I don't want to sound so arrogant, but I am just telling the truth, we are number one and there is no need to travel to any other country in the world.

About four weeks ago, this blog made an emergency 'get to cash immediately for the end is near' call, on the basis that low bond yields are a leading indicator of imminent mass deflationary doom.

I've been in my y2k bunker since then and just emerged. Oddly, nothing really happened since then. S&P is actually up even. Maybe things weren't quite as bad as they seemed??

But whatever, its only lame when realtors make baseless predictions.

Jeff Immelt, CEO of GE, referred to this as a bump in the road. It actually looks like a crevass opened up by a category 8 earthquake. Look out below!

Greetings from rain soaked Lugano. . .hmmm. . supposed to be nice down here. . .Swiss are pissed off at USA for the low dollar. . .making those Swiss exports too expensive, and keeping tourists away. . .other than that, flew Ibera over here - instead of American Airlines - what a breath of fresh air. . .US carriers since 911 are so fascist!. . ."sit down, shut up, don't go to the bathroom, do what we say or else". . .IBERA was great - seat belt sign off 10 minutes after departing JFK, people could stand around the bathrooms and chat, flight attendants weren't like nasty school marms. . .I felt like a human being - and my stress level went WAY down. . .didn't even need to pop a Xanax. . .good movie selection too. .

US carriers since 911 are so fascist!. . ."sit down, shut up, don't go to the bathroom, do what we say or else"

I hear you, man. Last time I went to Paris, I picked over the seat to check toilet-line status, and a high school-drop-out-Marshall looked at me like he was about to put a bullet in my forehead. Then a high school-drop-out-flight attendant gave me crap because I was waiting for someone to vacate the toilet. It's disgusting to fly these days with US carriers. I hope they all go out of business. And you don't have to fly international to notice the difference. Have you tried Virgin America yet? It's a delight to fly with them. The Soup Nazi from Seinfeld ain't got sh!t on US carriers.

Prague has the prettiest women I've ever seen. Pardon me, I don't mean to come across as an ignoble traveller, but I relish attractive p***y.
