Why should renters and bubble sitters pay taxes that will go toward bailing out housing gamblers, mortgage fraudsters and failed flippers?

Come on Hillary, I know you have the answer.

Seriously, it was bad enough to have trillions of taxpayer dollars go toward a stupid and illegal war. To have trillions go toward bailing out reckless banks, lenders and gamblers would be beyond the pale, it would be un-American and it would show the level of REIC-caused corruption found in America today.

I have faith in America. I have faith that Americans will fight any kind of taxpayer funded housing gambler bailout.

The good news is that Hillary Clinton and her ill-conceived housing gambler bailout plans are being sent to the trash (along with her imploding campaign) by her fellow big-government socialists. And then you have the lobbyists at war, with Bush and Paulson standing up to Clinton, Dodd and Schumer.

Best we can hope for HP'ers is some classic DC gridlock on this issue - the bankers vs. the socialists. Maybe they'll just run out the clock, houses will fall to their true market-driven values, the banks will fail, and then we can move on.

Or not.

Good commentary on this issue from Smart Money:
_________

[A]mericans, especially many populist politicians, believe that individuals deserve to have their mortgage paid simply because they can no longer afford to pay it themselves. Forgetting the fact that these individuals willingly took out loans well beyond their means or didn’t plan for a rainy day in which the real estate market wasn’t soaring, politicians on both sides of the aisle say they are entitled to keep their home. So they plan to take other people’s hard-earned money and give it away…not because these individuals did anything to deserve it, but simply because they need it. It’s the essence of the “entitlement mentality” I wrote about last winter.

The purpose of government is to protect my rights — end of story. But because there is no such thing as a right to a home, using taxpayer dollars to bail out homeowners or home lender, is an immoral abuse of governmental authority.

SAN ANTONIO -- The trial of alleged influence peddler Tony Rezko starts Monday in Chicago, and the Clinton campaign Friday said the number of questions still unanswered about the relationship between Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) and Rezko are "staggering."

Clinton campaign communications director Howard Wolfson said Obama and his team have ducked "legitimate questions" about Rezko, who faces federal corruption charges most centrally involved with Gov. Blagojevich's administration. Rezko's wife bought a lot next to the Obamas' new home on the same day and later sold them a slice of her land -- the opening chapter in this saga. Rezko also has been a fund-raiser for Obama.

Remember back in the pre-Depression days America was using the China Strategy of "Peaceful Rising". All the Europeans who wanted economic, intellectual, and religious freedom and PEACE flocked to America leaving the dreck behind!

After the flood stopped, we began interbreeding and producing a normal bell-shaped distribution of talent in our society. We can't be #1 in the world when we are normal. We have to be abnormal.

Now we can futilely try to be #1 in the world and suffer for the effort, or we can mind our own damn business and focus on internal strength, virtue, and stability.

Playing the neo-cons and socialists off against each other is a great strategy, but many self-styled patriots or conservatives believe that by voting for someone you somehow endorse them (a.k.a. Alex Jones on Obama).

You do nothing of the kind; by pushing for Obama we use the age old method of divide and conquer. This method leads to gridlock and it is what the globalists have been using against We The People since 1963.

If by some miracle Obama decides to govern well (i.e. he's into self-preservation...) great. If not, we continue to push for gridlock etc.

This blog should be the Daily Kos of sound-government.

Owning a house you can't afford is now a right, just like free healthcare, free college tuition and free everything else at the expense of responsible people. They used to say that crime doesn't pay. These days, crime pays while being responsible is for suckers. The parallels to Rome are amazing

citizens too lazy to do their own work import slaves

no more responsibility or morality

power hungry thieving leaders run amok

brainless entertainment to divert the masses

Whatever replaces America will be Orwellian

The more you talk about Obama, the more I am liking Bush and Republicans. I am considering voting for McCain. I am crossing over to the dark side. Guaranteed. Sick Obama mania. Obama fatigued already.

Dude you hit the nail on the head. Being a responsible individual in this effing country is an exceedingly aggravating exercise. Hillary, Obama, and McCain are all pandering to the irresponsible daft sacks o' shite that compose a stunning fraction of the populace, at the expense of those of us that happen to not be irresponsible and daft.

Thanks bunches, candidates. Distribute more of my hard-earned money to the burgeoning welfare class, please. And wave that flag while you're at it.

This crap will not fly. Trillions may have been spent on the war but with housing gamblers being a minority, you will not see the masses stand for increased taxation for a bailout.

As for the Obama comments on this thread, I'm surprised no one has pointed out that the American Communist Party is openly supporting him and campaigning on his behalf. They love his Marxist agenda.

"the bankers vs. the socialists"
You got that wrong! Bankers and socialists are one the same side this time. You know, priviatise gains, socialise losses. Any bailout is mainly for the banks. Clinton, Dodd & Schumer don't give a hoot if some schmuck gets foreclosed on or not. What they do care about is their banker buddies being left holding the bag once J6P sends them jingle mail.
We need to do more to encourge people to simply walk from their overpriced house. Teach those bankers a lesson.

why go thru all that nonsense, simply re-regulate the banks,,,,no more derivatives,if you dont stop, then we will take you over and toss you in jail.

Frank poses as the defender of the little guy's pocket book vs. the "socialists".

Saying how the little guy won't sit idly by while trillions in tax liabilities are imposed upon him.

I think we can all agree that the "little guy" hates taxes on him AND loves government spending on him! The little guy loves to pose a rugged individual who doesn't need socialism, but every couple of years or so the little guy clamors for socialism! Hypocritical? Yes. Gonna change? No.

The little guy is a stupid slob, and is a genuine threat to anyone who wants to live a good life. That is why we need to play government (the other threat) off against the little guy. Divide and conquer.

NEW YORK:

January 26th 2008

A Brooklyn community had the highest subprime foreclosure rate in the state in October, according to Federal Reserve Bank of New York data.

One in four homeowners with subprime mortgages in the 11233 zip code, which spans Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant and Crown Heights neighborhoods, lost their homes, the Fed said.

The community had a foreclosure rate of almost four times the national subprime figure of 6.89%, which was the highest since March 2003.

Bedford-Stuyvesant and Crown Heights had 194 foreclosures out of 770 subprime borrowers, Fed data show.

CONNECTICUT:

02/27/08
January foreclosures in Connecticut continued to rise, according to RealtyTrac.com, propelling it into the top 10 states nationally based on rate of filings. The California company, which tracks foreclosure filings across the country, released the monthly report Tuesday.

Connecticut is No. 8 in RealtyTrac's top 10 list, which also includes what were until recently some of the hottest real estate markets of the last decade "" Nevada, California, Florida, Arizona and Colorado.

Keith, why do you keep censoring the story about Obama's Cook County and their sales tax increase? The truth shall set you free, bro!

Your new Stroger Tax
Tribune editorial
5:08 PM CST, March 1, 2008

At this point, I see no need for any increase in taxes. I am opposed to a sales tax because it is regressive and adversely affects the poorest members of the community."

—Cook County Commissioner Larry

Suffredin, as posted at www.suffredin.org

For three days, the Cook County Board talked about the needs of county executives, or county departments, or county employees. Rarely did anyone mention the 5.3 million residents whose taxes pay for this oversized and bumbling government.

Sure enough, the 2008 budget approved late Friday reflected Cook County's true priorities. Board President Todd Stroger, with his broken promises of reform trailing behind him, won a 1 percentage point increase in the sales tax. That's half of what he had wanted, but still maddeningly unnecessary. The hike will take an additional $426 million per year from taxpayers. Businesses? In Chicago they'll be stuck collecting the steepest big-city sales tax in the U.S.: 10.25 percent.

Latin American Communists Back Obama

Fri, 02/15/2008 - 11:58 — Judicial Watch Blog

This week Barack Obama got a second presidential endorsement from a world renowned communist, who assures that the Illinois senator is a spokesman for millions of Central American and Mexican citizens who migrate to the U.S.

Nicaraguan leader Daniel Ortega, the head of the Marxist Sandinista Liberation Front, says Obama’s presidential bid is a “revolutionary” phenomenon in the United States because he will bring great change that will offer justice and equality toward all. In other words, socialism and a redistribution of wealth.

Farrakhan Praises Obama As World’s Hope

Mon, 02/25/2008 - 16:30 — Judicial Watch Blog

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has reveled in the support of the nation’s top black leaders and Hollywood celebrities but he would love to make disappear the recent praise of a well-known radical figure that compares the Illinois senator to his cult’s founder.

Addressing a crowd of about 20,000 followers in Chicago over the weekend, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, a renown anti-Christian and anti-Semite, spent nearly two hours glorifying Obama and referring to him as the “hope of the entire world.”

The controversial minister compared Obama to his cult’s founder (Fard Muhammad) who also had a white mother and black father, saying: “A black man with a white mother became a savior to us. A black man with a white mother could turn out to be one who can lift America from her fall.”

An established race baiter, Farrakhan also told the cheering crowd that Obama’s rise is phenomenal because he is a man of color in a country that has persecuted “us because of our color.” Farrakhan believes that God will destroy the entire white race and establish a paradise nation ruled by blacks.

since you have a big audience and most people bald faced liars, I wonder how many people come on here and tell bald faced lies about bailing people out, they don't have a toxic mortgage, thier income, and they ran out and bought a few houses on the zero down payment plans and now thier lives are spiraling out of control and they are coming on this page to see how they are going to get screwed next. They are evil, mean, nasty people who say racist things, think they are better and think they deserved to be compensated for living in America and not have to work for a living and charge people to live in thier houses while they rack up the cash. Well I believe NAFTA, Welfare Reform, the Mexican Invasion, and the housing crash will remind you that you are indeed human and no better than the next and you are not Donald Trump, Bill Gates or Warren Buffet, you are Joe Fuckin Blow a nobody and no one really cares about and probably not even your mother. Oh that is what I think all of the politicans think about you so whether you like or dislike Mr. Obama, you still love George Bush more after what he has done to you. F YOU.

I say that if she wins the nomination, she will do NOTHING.

I don't believe the free market is the answer to everything. But those who tout the Invisible Hand theory always seem so slow to allow the downside to happen.

A social democracy may have its flaws, but at least the emphasis is on actual needs such as health care, affordable housing, jobs, top of the line infrastructure, high-speed trains, and schools of equal high quality. Sounds like a country I'd be proud to live in. Funny how the money-obsessed self-proclaimed patriots are so certain they as individuals can join the ranks of the top 10% (law of averages, anyone?). Yet when it comes to improving things for all "we can't afford it".

The trillion dollar war proves we could have afforded it. So nuts to you and turning "socialism" into a perjorative. And for sure no bailouts for wanna-be Donald Trumps.

The good news is that Hillary Clinton and her ill-conceived housing gambler bailout plans are being sent to the trash (along with her imploding campaign) by her fellow big-government socialists.

According to a recent study, Obama is the most liberal in the Senate. Hillary is #16. Obama is even more liberal than Ted Kennedy. So Keith, do you really think that Obama will be better than Hillary? Based on what you believe in him, just speeches? Show us anything major that Obama has done as politician. Sorry sheep, voting against the Iraq war doesn't count because Obama wasn't in the Senate to vote. So he couldn't vote, which is different than not voting. He says that he didn't vote to fool the sheep, but in reality he couldn't vote because he wasn't there.

The last time you voted for someone only because of "charisma" ("the guy you wanted to have a beer with" trick created by the corrupt MSM and slime GOP), you know what happened. You're doing the exactly same thing again.

Prepare to spin that hamster wheel faster because you'll be supporting the entire Africa and America's ghettos. Obama will suck every dime you have to support welfare parasites, from Cubans in Miami to Africans and Compton in between. Those are the people who are voting for him, so he will keep transferring your taxes to them in order to get elected forever.

Hmmm, let's see, in the last 2 elections all the corrupt MSM and the majority of dumb Americans were cheering for the wrong candidate and elected a moron for president. Now the same corrupt MSM is making Obama a rock star, while the stupid voters are cheering right behind.

Can you recognize the similarities and foresee the outcome of your stupidity? I do, and I never voted for Bush. As a matter of fact, the first thing I did when you voted those two oil men into power was to invest heavily in energy funds, precious metals, and foreign funds. Oh, and I sold my home at peak in 1995.

Who are you going to listen to? Obama's speeches without any solid evidence or experience to back his bull$hit up? Listen to the corrupt MSM (Chris Matthews, Tim Russert, Hannity, Glen Beck, Anderson Cooper) once gain? Listen to the same morons who voted for Bush/Cheney? Listen to welfare parasites from South Central LA or Rappers? Listen to Hollywood celebrities or Oprah who don't even know the price of a gallon of milk?

You go ahead and finish destroying this country by voting to Obama or McCain. Funny, I just remembered that Sting song, "History Will Teach US Nothing".
