Special Iraq 5 year disaster anniversary thread

Too bad the 1994 Cheney couldn't have advised the 2003 Cheney. The 1994 Cheney actually had it right.

Trillions of dollars. Thousands of lives. The credibility and goodwill of the United States. And the biggest foreign policy mistake in the history of the United States.

Nice job Bush. Nice job Cheney. Nice job Congress. Nice job CIA. Nice job American voters.

Bring the troops home. Stop digging.

The war on Iraq is the single most damaging adventure to America—America’s image, American ideals, American policy, American economy, America’s future.
I was in Baghdad during the war. I saw it first hand--veni vidi vici-- and I can tell you that war was uncalled for, unjust, and above all unethical. Bush, Cheney, Ramsfeld and the neocons should be ashamed of themselves.

What a waste of lives and money and goodwill.

I am an expat and a world trekker. I haven't yet met anybody who likes Bush's policies-- not even in Europe, where supposedly America's closest allies are to be found.

HP'ers, mark my word: Bush and Cheney and McCain are up to something bad-- a ground assault against Iran, or maybe just a wave of air strikes against vital Iranian assets before the summer.

The main reason is not necessarily the elections, but the real aim is to rally the sheeps and get their attention away from the current housing and financial meltdown.

obama will get us out of there

What a difference billions of dollars & 10 years make to ones judgement.

Vote for Obama and you'll have the exact same thing. Politicians say what they have to when running. None of them will be able to leave Iraq any time soon.

Come on man. Where would we be without big dick Cheney? We'd have radical extremist islamo-fascist suicidal jihadist terrorists running all over the neighborhoods. We need men with big dicks like Dick Cheney to protect us from the bogey men of the world.

Heh, there were more motorcycle cops following the protester parade outside my DC Office window than there were actual protesters.

And they want to close down the IRS because "that's where the money comes from?"

Nice job Diebold machines.

American voters have absolutely NO say in who gets to be prez anymore, any more than people in the old Soviet Union.

If we did, then John McCain would not be the GOP nominee.

You can blame Murphy's Law if you want (a party will get the worst possible person as its nominee, guaranteed) but we are definitely as enslaved as those behind the Iron Curtain were.

And the worst thing about that, is that they KNEW they were enslaved, and had their leaders chosen for them. Most Americans still don't know.

Vote for Obama and all out troubles will seem so far away. No more war. No more terrorism (oops I forgot it never existed in the first place, it was all an inside Cheney/Haliburton job) and the sun will shine brightly every day.

Yeah, but israel sure sleeps better at night, and that's all that matters to America's leaders anyway.

Sorry Keith, I can't watch the video because every time I see that freak I end up throwing up in my mouth.

McCain and Cheney sure are going to have a lot of fun over the next four years. Galavanting around the world, bombing the sh!t out of those brown-skinned folk, pumping trillions into the military industrial complex and bringing the world to it's knees!!!

America!!! F*CK YEAH!!!

Sorry anti-war HPers, we were absolutely right in going into Iraq. All you knee-jerkers do is moan and whine about how bad things are there..where the hell were you when Saddam was murdering his own people by the hundreds of thousands? Where were you when he rolled over Kuwait, on his way to rolling over Saudi Arabia and Syria. You were no where. You were just silent. (Of course, when Clinton backed US troops in Serbia/Croatia/etc. you were fawning over him). Iraq will eventually be better off because of the war, and so will the Middle East. You are now just bullshit that things have changed for the better there and you'll be proven wrong...once again.

And who cares what the Europeans think of us. They have no integrity anyway. There is no such thing as a noble European. They operate only in two states of being: 1) as savages murdering one another and 2) as ostriches putting their heads in the sand.

Get some backbone, would ya.

God Bless Us one and All.

By the way, how many times have you been to Europe to be able to make judgements about them. Huh Joe 6?
