You lost.
Go home.
You've disgraced yourself and lost without class. Your power-mad, negative and hopeless scorched-earth campaign has made a third Bush term more likely (via his surrogate McCain). And you just can't seem to get the message, so let's try one more time:
You lost.
Go home.
And take your stupid Housing Gambler Bailout plans with you.
The Long Defeat
In short, Hillary Clinton’s presidential prospects continue to dim. The door is closing. Night is coming. The end, however, is not near.
Last week, an important Clinton adviser told Jim VandeHei and Mike Allen (also of Politico) that Clinton had no more than a 10 percent chance of getting the nomination. Now, she’s probably down to a 5 percent chance.
Five percent.
Let’s take a look at what she’s going to put her party through for the sake of that 5 percent chance: The Democratic Party is probably going to have to endure another three months of daily sniping. For another three months, we’ll have the Carvilles likening the Obamaites to Judas and former generals accusing Clintonites of McCarthyism. For three months, we’ll have the daily round of résumé padding and sulfurous conference calls. We’ll have campaign aides blurting “blue dress” and only-because-he’s-black references as they let slip their private contempt.
For three more months (maybe more!) the campaign will proceed along in its Verdun-like pattern. There will be a steady rifle fire of character assassination from the underlings, interrupted by the occasional firestorm of artillery when the contest touches upon race, gender or patriotism. The policy debates between the two have been long exhausted, so the only way to get the public really engaged is by poking some raw national wound.
For the sake of that 5 percent, this will be the sourest spring

Does anyone know how many states that haven't voted yet allow Republicans to cross over and vote in the Dem's Primary? Rush Limbaugh had the Texas Republicans give Hillary the victory that kept her in the race (and gave McCain the lead today).

I love this. Keith and the rest of the DailyKook world fighting amongst itself, tearing itself up piece by piece. I saw a poll that said 20% of Hill-a-bama voters wouldn't vote in Nov. if their candidate lost the primary.
Can you say 40 state McCain sweep?
Once again the Democrats will have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
Speaking of rifle fire, how about her trip to Bosnia where she ducked intense sniper fire? buahahaha

Hillary can't stop she's under sniper fire and has to keep moving. God, I don't trust that lady. I liked most of the stuff Bill did, but there is something wrong with her. Give it up and go back to NY, if they still want you.
Come on Kieth. Don't be so naive.
Clinton knows she can't win. But she also knows that the clock is ticking. She would much rather run against McCain in 2012 than make a run at a President Obama. Much easier prospect, especially since McCain would be 76 years old. And she is too old to wait until 2016 when Obama ends his second term.
Plus, if she hangs in and Obama makes a supergaffe, she can step in with zero problem as the heir apparent.
She's not gonna give up before the convention. No way, no how.
And until then, the Dems are gonna do what they do best....snipe at each other endlessly until the convention, and then be shocked, shocked when the Repubs regurgitate the insults 24/7 afterwards until the elections.
Anyone else wondering if they will ever get the chance to vote for a candidate in November instead of simply settling for the least worst option? (And no, don't give me this crap about third party/Ron Paul candidacies, either. I mean someone with a realistic chance of winning, guys and girls...)
FWIW, Intrade prediction markets are giving Hillary about 20% to win the nomination (if you disagree, you should be trading).
What's important is Hillary has made the bold proclamation that she would not have Reverend Wright as her pastor. For a minute I was concerned about a a plummeting USD, a housing crisis and derivatives blowing up in the trillions but armed with the knowledge that under no conditions would she listen to the sermons of Rev Wright I can safely vote for her.
Might I suggest you leave the far left, PC correct politics (voting for a "person" of "color") off the blog. It doesn't help with the discussion of the housing problem.
She was the last one to figure out that she was running and she will be the last to figure out that she is not in the running.
Dead BITCH Bounce...

The smackdown between Obama and Hillary will do one main thing above anything else: ensure victory for crazy McCain.
which leads me to conclude that Karl Rove is the mastermind behind all of this.
Brilliant.
I still think she's going to steal the nomination and the presidency.
After all, the Clinton's are best friends with the Bushes.
They have taught her everything she knows.
Jymkata
Keep on giving Hillary free publicity and you are assuring her victory.
As I have mentioned here many times before, the reason Hillary will be our next president is due to the record amount free publicity she receives.
Great 4 more years of this crap, do you really want that? Good luck with that.
Obama's Black Panther Nazi preacher has ended his chances in the general election. The kook is slandering Jews, Italians and everyone who isn't a black radical. Blacks and Latinos, despite all the smiles and handshaking, hate each other deep down. It looks like crazy old man McCain will be the next prez unless he drops dead of a heart attack. Either way, this country is dead man walking because they all support open borders.
"Blacks and Latinos, despite all the smiles and handshaking, hate each other deep down."
Obama must hate his mother, because she's white.
He must hate his sister, because she's half white, half hispanic.
And he must hate himself because he's half white.
That smiley, relaxed, mellow guy is a veritable cauldron of racist hatred! He'll put all the honkies and Mexicans in camps!!
She hasn't lost AT ALL.
She's behind in PLEDGED delegates and will most likely finish behind by 100 OUT OF 3,500 pledged delegates!
BUT!!
What about the "popular vote"?
She's behind by 700,000 you might hear. But that doesn't include the net 300,000 she would get from Florida. We'll leave Michigan out of this for now.
So that's 400,000 votes she's down.
If she wins PA by 15%, that's 300,000 net votes. WV and KY look poll wise like she's up 2-1 so a net of about 200,000 votes there.
OOPS!!
She'll end up winning the popular vote.
Remember how in 2000 the fact that Gore got more votes meant he was the "real winner"?
Well Hillary will get more votes.
And that doesn't include Michigan where a re-vote would net her about 100K minimum.
So going into the convention....
Obama will be ahead in pledged delgates by 70-100 or so (ignoring Florida and Michigan).
Hillary will be AHEAD IN POPULAR VOTES!!!
She has every right to continue.
The democrats (including the voters) are doing this to themselves. if they let Florida and or Michigan in then it will really get ugly.
Anyone who thinks McCain is a Bush surrogate needs to do some reading. Look at his votes on immigration, campaign finance reform, tax reform (pay-go), and the 2000 primary. Many of his stances were unpopular with conservatives, esp. the talk radio jokers. Again, I'm not sure how this makes him a Bush supproter.
I'm baffled.
For a site that normally does good reseach, some of the comments posted lately are pretty poor.
McCain made some pretty smart moves about the housing market the other day. He basically said that greedy speculators shouldn't get a dime. That makes waaaaay more sense than either of the Democratic jokesters. I am registered as a Democrat and am seriously considering voting for McCain. I truly wish it were Paul that would be our next president :(

McCain is a fraud. You seriously believe he is going to do anything about immigration, lowering taxes, etc? Please, people. wake up.
McCain is a big government war hog. He will put the nail in the GOP's coffin if he becomes prez and will be a one term disaster if he lives long enough. Even worse, he will bankrupt this country as he spends away our money on endless wars.
McCain is Bush on steroids.
He is a complete disaster!

Re: AmazingRuss
Self-loathing isn't limited to one race; the simple fact that he attended that "church" speaks volumes, and everyone (from Obama himself to Hillary to McCain to Joe Sixpack) knows that. His "spiritual mentor" is a racist, plain and simple.
And where I'm from, blacks and Latinos do distrust each other. Hard. And that will be the trump card...whether played by Hillary (or one of her henchmen...err, henchpeople) or McCain or (most likely) some politico looking for some publicity.
But the bottom line is: Keith, you know, deep down, that if BHO or HRC win, then a MASSIVE bailout of everyone who even thought about buying a house will ensue. Please don't ruin a blog I have deeply enjoyed for some time by pretending otherwise.
Ok, if Hillary is out, then McCain will be the president. According to a recent UNBIASED poll, 36% of Hillary voters wouldn't vote for Obama, while only 18% of Obama voters (MTV Pot Smokers College idiots, black ghetto, and $10k / handbag celebs, low life rappers) wouldn't vote for Hillary if she wasn't nominated.
If Hillary is not nominated, Obama will lose to McCain. Not many blue collar white men, Hispanics, and women will ever vote for the Mr. Empty Suit Ultra Liberal Racist Obama.
My entire family and co-workers won't vote for Obama, if he's nominated. We'll stay home instead, and let it burn with McCain.
McCain will destroy this country, including new war against Iran pushed by his pal, Zionist Lieberman. Enjoy, you are going to be guilty again for destroying the country, just like you did by voting for Bush twice.
The smackdown between Obama and Hillary will do one main thing above anything else: ensure victory for crazy McCain.
______
I'm a staunch conservative and don't like either of these three, but either Hillary or Barack will beat McCain in the general election.
Bush and his neo-cons' ruinous policies have dug us a huge hole. Most of my coworkers who self-identify as "conservatives" don't see anything wrong with the Iraq war, the Patriot Act, the Fed's horrific policies and medling, etc.
America is truly a shadow of its former self, fully anesthetized by bread and circuses.
Having said all that, most Americans know something is terribly wrong, and John McCain represents more of the same. When America wants change, they vote in the president of the other party. Not that there's a lot of thinking behind the votes.
Anyone who thinks McCain is a Bush surrogate needs to do some reading.
______
McCain sees us in Iraq for a long time, same as Bush. McCain has no understanding of the roots of the economic crisis facing us, same as Bush. His recent words on the housing crisis don't reflect any deep understanding of his.

Shit for brains.
Don't forget about Al Gore. He'll get the nomination, and win the presidency and Obama will be the vice prez.
so you're saying there's a chance

"McCain made some pretty smart moves about the housing market the other day. He basically said that greedy speculators shouldn't get a dime."
Who gives a shit what he says, just WATCH what HE DOES !!!
Most politicans say ONE thing, but DO the other.
Geesshh you gullible American sheep are beyond STUPID.
But you get EXACTLY what YOU VOTE for.
snicker.
Alan Greenspan for President!!!
What will happen to Billary?
How will she cope with this?
Its going to be very tuff on Billiary. She might just end up quitting the democratic party and joining the Billary Party.
Hillary did not loose. Obama cheated and lied about his positions on everything and does not take any sides on any serious issue and says what ever appeals to the crowd.
If Obama is the candidate, Republicans will take whitehouse in a landslide.
We nneed Hillary to stand up to Republicans.
Looks like McCain is starting to listen to you.

Obama's racist pastor, his comments in his own book have sealed a McCain presidency and more wars.

Brilliant analysis, idiot. Read what I wrote. She can still win the popular vote.
The issue is how do SUPERDELEGATES vote? Should they vote for the winner of pledged delegates or winner of the of the popular vote.
There's no logical basis for picking one over the other.
