HousingPANIC calls for a "Week Without Wal-Mart" coinciding with the Olympic opening ceremonies 8/8/08. F*ck China. F*ck Wal-Mart. And Free Tibet!!!

What China is doing today in Tibet is shameful, and should be resisted in any way you can. Sitting in your depreciating home in Cleveland (thank you China), you probably feel powerless, or more likely you probably just don't care. And you probably also have no idea what's going on, since China doesn't allow the media into Tibet to report on the atrocities underway.

Folks, every time you go down to Wal-Mart and buy some more cheap Chinese crap, you support the evil communist dictators of China, and you're hurting America. You are simply doing wrong. And you know it.

So take a stand. Do the right thing. Stop buying Chinese crap until this evil communist regime is finally ousted.

So here's what I ask, and I hope others pick up the call.

Boycott Wal-Mart during the Chinese Olympics. Don't step foot in their stores, don't buy any cheap Chinese crap, for at least one week, starting August 8, 2008.

I hope you NEVER shop at Wal-Mart or buy Chinese again until they right their wrongs, but at least give Tibet one week, starting 8/8/8.

Damn, I also hope there's an athlete or two with the moral courage to do the right thing this summer. China should be shamed for all the world to see. A hero could be born.

F*ck China. F*ck Wal-Mart. And free Tibet.

Where am I supposed to shop.should I go over to safeway and grab my ankles? There is no problem with walmart. They run a great business and provide rejects of society a final chance to work.I am going to buy some condoms there tonight so I can screw a realtor later this evening.

Brilliant Keith, another boycott call that will hurt working people of China and leave the fat cat tyrants unaffected.

While we are at it, let's p-off the country who is the largest holder of our debt. You want to see the death of that dollar you rant about? That'd do it.

Boy this is a winning strategy if I've ever heard one.

Let's go around the world and solve everyone's problems. Why not? There are tyrants everywhere! Let's get more involved. Hey, we can get the U.N. to help too! Brilliant.. NOT!

Anonymous said...

That is an easy one, because I've never shopped at Walmart to begin with. I went in once and it was frightening. I never returned.

I won't be watching the Olympics either. Screw those evil communists.

You have to look at it the way they do to understand.

The chinks and japs both think their respective countries are the center of the world (literally, in China's case), that they themselves are collectively King Shit and that everybody else are barbarians on the outskirts who can kiss their asses.

We kicked the japs' asses in WW2. We need to do so again... along with the chinks'.

I am for the boycotting of all made in china products. Tibet is Tibet, it is not part of China. Tibetans are not Chinese. I asked one Chinese person at work why don't the Chinese return Tibet to the Tibetans and he said because it belongs to China. I asked if the Tibetans speak the same language or have the same culture as China and he started saying the Tibetans smell bad as if because of that, the Chinese had the right to take their lands. Fu*k all the Chinese. Do you think the Chinese govt. and their people are different? i don't think so. It is the people that make the govt. so they are all the same. Boycott and f**k them all.

Let's not forget the nasty stuff China does to the poor North Korean people who have seen the light and want to escape the DPRK, the world's largest GULAG.

China repatriates North Koreans (hundreds per week), who escape across the border to try to get to South Korea or the U.S. The North Koreans try to hide among the Chinese of Korean origin until they can get out of China.

The Chinese call the North Koreans "economic migrants" instead of "political refugees." They are absolutely brutal to these people, who have, I think, suffered long enough.

Watch Seoul Train online at NetFlix, or check out the videos on YouTube about North Korean refugees.

By the same token, you're supporting communism by supporting B. Hussien O. There's no reason to piss off the sleeping dragon until we've paid them off.

Anonymous said...

I can feel your anger, but this has nothing to do with Wal-Mart. And I believe sport is non-political and would like to enjoy it for the sake of sport itself. Besides Olympic is one of the bright sights to cheer me up among all gloomy news.

I go to Wal-Mart, but only buy the American-made products they have on their shelves. It takes a negligible amount of extra time to flip things over and check the label to see where they are made.

And before anyone says Wal-Mart has no American-made products, because almost nothing is made here anymore, go check it out for yourself. You might be surprised. There are plenty of factories in operation, and lots of manufacturing jobs available, right here in the USA.

From reading this blog I thought the economy was going to collapse imminently. Won't buying stuff ANYWHERE no longer be an option by August? LOL

"Brilliant Keith, another boycott call that will hurt working people of China and leave the fat cat tyrants unaffected."

Your logic is flawed. The fat cat tyrants of China are hurting the working people of China. If you shop at WalMart or buy Chinese products you are buying the bullets for the guns that the Chinese Army has pointed at the heads of the Chinese people.

By boycotting China you are refusing to participate in the murder of the Chinese people. If the Communist dictators of China persist in oppressing the Chinese people without your money that is not your concern. The choice of living as free men or as slaves is the responsibility of the Chinese people not yours UNLESS you are helping to fund their evil regime.

China has a population of 1.3 billion people if they decide to fight for their right to live as free men no army in the world can stop them.

Don't stop at WalMart and not just for a week. Do not support the public relations bulls!t fest that the Peking Olympics will be. Boycott every sponsor of the Olympics and write or email the sponsors and tell them that you will use your dollars to finance the big lie that China is a happy shiny workers paradise.

This is not a matter of "going around the world and solving everyone's problems" it is a matter of taking responsibility for your own life. If you subsidize murder by trading your money for junk made by an oppressive dictatorship you are as guilty as the oppressors that you are subsidizing.

Typical American hypocrisy,
How many people have you killed in Iraq so far this year?

How can you lecture anybody, when you have invaded another country, killed hundreds of thousands, you have renditioned people to other countries were they are then tortured.
This tortured evidence is then used in a kangaroo military court to put people on trial for their lives.

You need to fix Americas problems before you even dare to tell ANYBODY else how to run their country.

Anonymous said...

Yes, boycott China, free Tibet, support UN for Taiwan too.

Why do I care about the working people in China . China can start producing junk for their own people
.America can start producing stuff for Americans and give Americans jobs .

Going global was just some scheme by the Corporations to reduce wage costs and production costs and cut out the American employee and make more profit .Now the Corporations think they don't have to give pension plans ,health benefits ,401k's or even inflation raises .

Next thing you know Corporations will be asking Americans to work for 2 dollars a hour because they can find someone in China that will work for 1 dollar a hour .

Look at the lack of quality in slave labor goods . Think about the toxic plants in China this junk comes out of . Think about all the poor dogs that died .

China workers don't want to consume their own crap they ship to America .

When the powers started going Global they failed to consider that by hiring slave labor people to produce cheap goods they would be pricing the Americans out of jobs .

If you expect Americans to compete Global wise ,you have to have the same rules and a level playing field .

I guess the powers that be just want Americans to chase after one bubble after another to try to stay ahead of the game ,while the Corporations rake in the real money . Remember that Corporations can always raise the price of a product ,if the market will bear,to cover inflation.
Look at how the Corporations are passing on the costs of inflation in their products ,yet they say to you we can't give you a inflation raise (there are exceptions in some industries )

Boy did the Corporations with their fat cat CEO's pull the wool over the American peoples eyes ,who were busy chasing the housing bubble .All that debt by Americans that bought products from these Corporations .

Wake up Americans and see that the Corporations and rich people need you ,so demand that they give you a fair share .You have the power to boycott and hurt them in their pocketbooks ,the very area they are hurting you by their greed .

Now I admit ,many moons ago Unions went to far in their demands for
workers, but now the Corporations have gone to far in their demands from employees .

We either go back to the early 1900's when the worker was a slave and could never get ahead ,or we balance out the scales of fairness between employee and employer.

And that doesn't mean that a worker should be able to cheat a employer by not putting in a good day work.Employers should be able to fire workers that are dead weight .

Rise up Americans and take back your place in the sun .

"This tortured evidence is then used in a kangaroo military court to put people on trial for their lives."

How ridiculous. The Red Cross and other organizations have looked into these claims of hundreds of thousands killed, and concluded they are all fictitious. The number of "innocents" killed in Iraq by both sides in this conflict is estimated at under forty thousand, not hundreds of thousands, and this is a remarkably low figure considering that we're at war.

From WWI through the present, the U.S. has SAVED more lives that all the other countries on the planet combined, at a terrible cost to itself. MILLIONS of Americans have died in war defending European countries. The European response to regimes like Saddam's was to do nothing other than business as usual. Had Germany, France, and Russia not propped up this idiot, there would have been no war. Sure the war was ill-conceived, but what was the alternative? Nothing? Saddam tortured and killed more than a million of his own people, including children, burying them in mass graves, and nobody did anything.

Europeans, who gave us Mousulini and Hilter, and Eastern Europeans, who gave us Marx, Lenin, and Stalin, are in no position to accuse the U.S. of anything. In WWII, virtually all French "soldiers" surrendered in one day, the usual French response to bullies (in this case Hitler), and millions of Germans either abetted or ignored the political arrest, imprisonment, and murder of millions of others. And yet these people have the gall to criticize us?

"Invaded" Iraq? We had peace treaties with Saddam from the first Gulf war, all of which he violated, and which clearly stated we had the right to re-atttack in the event of such violations. HE SIGNED THE TREATIES, so we had every legal right to go back in. He baited us, pretended to have WMDs, and refused unsupervised inspections, knowing full-well what would happen. But, his ego was too big to face embarrassment. He wanted the world to think he was tough, and that was that.

China is a monster nation that treats hundreds of millions of people like slaves, and abuses animals to no end. In preparation for the Olympics, the Chinese government lauched an all-out purging of cats from its major cities, rounding up not merely strays but pets (owners were required by law to turn them in), many of which were then sold to eateries. Last year, the same government went after dogs. This has happened before. The Chinese government told the public that cats spread diseases, such as SARS (they don't spread SARS), and incited panic.

We have every right to boycot the Olympics and trashy Chinese products. We should be boycotting every American company that outsources manufacturing to China and imports Chinese products. China is just one more bully adored by uberliberals whose track-record for the past century is utterly appalling. These are the same nutcases who defend Islamic fascists in England, France, and Germany, yet wring their hands in anguish over the Crusades, though the Crusades, however horrible, were launched in response to Islamic terrorism of the era.

No other country in history has done more good than the U.S., despites all the bad critics like to focus on, so I'd say it has certainly earned the right to lecture on any abuse it wants.

I've been trying to avoid made in China stuff for a while. It's really difficult! Especially toys. I have to say no to most mainstream toys. I have a couple of tips for toy buying and avoiding supporting Chinese imports. For new toys, buy Legos, Playmobil, or Plan Toys (made in Europe, Europe, and Thailand). Otherwise, if you buy toys second hand, you're not putting any new money towards Chinese imports...eBay is great for this. Also, many vintage toys are great for creative play, and were made in Hong Kong or Japan in the 70's and 80's.

Mostly, I'm finding that avoiding buying Chinese goods and buying goods of other origin new costs 1.5 to 2X as much, and greatly reduces choices (especially household goods and toys). But I think it's worth it.

The Chinese people have no quality of life, they are oppressed whether they have a little spending money or not. And yes they are probably prejudiced against Tibetans, which is wrong. But neither Chinese, Tibetans or the people of Darfur stand a chance to have real freedom and self-actualization as long as we enrich the Chinese government. Take away the Chinese governments wealth and we take away their power to oppress and ability to fake their status in the world. Maybe they will cash in all those Mortgage Backed Securities, but in doing so they will screw the American economy that buys their products that their armies depend on for supplies and they will be unable to buy Sudanese oil with. No YOU follow whatever propaganda is fed to YOU. Your million figure is nonsense. MOST of the 40,000 or so deaths in Iraq are the result of insurgents and terrorists blowing up other Muslims, but like others of your ilk, you say nothing about this.

Stop reading the rubbish posted by fanatics (including Muslim extremists) on anti-American blogs, and start tracking down the made-up statistics they rely on, apparently based on the notion that the ends (and end to America's involvement in the war) justify the means (lying about America's supposed atrocities). If you can't defend your position without emotional nonsense and fabricated numbers, then perhaps your position isn't worth defending.

Anonymous said...

"and how is china's 'occupation' ANY different than america's occupation of iraq. how are american atrocities ANY less atrocious and how is the american cause ANY more noble?"

You must be insane. China attacked the peaceful Tibetans, burned their temples, killed or imprisoned their monks, and seized their land. America invaded Iraq after Saddam, a mass-murderer/dictator broke countless treaties with the U.S., and America hasn't taken anything for itself, not even a single drop of oil, to-date. What atrocities do you speak of? Do you mean the continual bombings, kidnappings, and beheadings at the hands of Muslim fanatics? America isn't the one doing them. If you had any relatives fighting over there, you might learn something. To paint our military fighters as evil--the same ones who are risking their lives and enduring terrible hardships for Westerners like you--is beyond the pale.

Of course, we should get out of Iraq as quickly as possible, but don't pretend that the one nation on Earth that has literally saved the planet twice (WWI and WWII), and liberated more people in the past century than all other nations in history combined bears any resemblance to China, where millions are enslaved, forced late-term abortions are the norm, and human and animal rights do not exist. If you can't distinguish between them, you are either appallingly stupid or the product of years of demented brainwashing.

Here's some info for you that think the Iraq War is all glory and is bringing sunshine and freedom to the Iraqi people:

http://ivaw.org/wintersoldier

Of course Saddam was a brute but has America improved the situation in Iraq at all?

And who do you think put Saddam in power - the US did!!

One thing you fail to understand is that these wars have nothing to do with bringing freedom and democracy to the people of the world. They are about geopolitical strategy and controlling natural resources (like oil).

The people that make these decisions to go to war are the authors of PNAC (the Neoconservative cabal that includes Cheney, Pearle, Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld, Kristol etc..)

Don't give me that patriotic BS about how America has saved the world and try to make me feel guilty for not "supporting the troops". Speaking out against this illegal war has NOTHING to do with supporting the troops.

If you REALLY HONESTLY supported the troops you would not want them risking their lives in a fruitless, disaster of a war.

"Support the troops" is classic propaganda from the Ministry of Truth (1984 - George Orwell).

"Don't give me that patriotic BS about how America has saved the world and try to make me feel guilty for not "supporting the troops". Speaking out against this illegal war has NOTHING to do with supporting the troops."

1. The War is not illegal (see above comments. It was approved by Congress and the Senate, and is in accord with the treaties we signed with Saddam, who broke them.

2. You cannot support the troops while accusing them of atrocities and murdering a hundred thousand--another poster here changed this to a million--innocents. To make such a claim, or even to defend it, is to show utter contempt for the troops, and utter disregard for fact. It's also called libel when printed, and slander when spoken.

3. Speaking out against the war is not the same as fabricating, falsifying, slandering, libeling, and doing unimaginable harm. The phrase "loose lips sink ships" applies as here, where the rants and malicious, false allegations made by anti-war FANATICS are used by Muslim FANATICS to fan their own followers into frenzies. How many American soldiers have been murdered or maimed by Islamic fanatics because of falehoods spread by American anti-war fanatics?

4. I did not try to make anybody feel guilty for not supporting the war. I always opposed it, though I didn't know what alternatives were possible, since the U.N. was not holding Saddam to his word, and Germany, France, and Russia were sending him tons of money and arms to use against his own citizens. They were supposed to be our allies, but they protected and enabled Saddam in return for oil.

Bringing Democracy to Iraq is probably impossible, and, I think, a ridiculous idea, but our soldiers (who have no choice in the matter) are TRYING to do so, and are being killed and mained in large numbers, not by the ordinary citizens of Iraq, against whom they are not fighting, but by fanatical tribal factions and religious zealots, many from other countries.

If saying these things is BS patriotism to you, so be it. But, before twisting my words to fit your own self-righteous agenda, please go back and read them.

"You can not have capitalism without freedom."

Many people mistake wealth and freedom. American model of 'freedom and democracy' failed everywhere. Only countries such as Russia and China didn't collapse and actually managed to kick ass economically because they took their path.
For the record, I know quite a few Chinese and Russian people and they agree. They will take fat paychecks over 'freedom' any day. Once you got money in your pocket you can buy what you want, be it US, China or any other place. Let's not wax philosophical this is about monetary success.

"You idiot, Tibet was an independent country not long ago until it was invaded by China. "

Civil war in America crushed independent states of the South. And yes Vermont joined of it's own. But suppose it wanted to cede. Say they are fed up by 'Roman empire' ways of the US. Would that be allowed? Imagine economy crumbles in the US. Would rich states continue to feed poor ones? Countries have invaded each other for as long as humans existed.
Take Kosovo for example. It has been Serbian for over a thousand years, and in less than 50 years illegal immigrants from Albania overran it (much like Mexifornia).

The truth is, might is right. And right now China is might, and US is might but declining.

I abhore war and violence. But killing civilians for non-existent WMD's and calling it 'collateral' by shiny news anchors, and at the same time passing judgement on others (whoever they are) is quarterback arm-chair politicking without any basic in reality....
