It's amazing (and heroic) for a sitting member of Congress to do what Ron Paul did that day. And it's sad that he's on his own.
History will be kind to Ron Paul.

Classic!
War is over (if you want it).
Vote Ron Paul 2008.
I have been reading his book, which is basically a recap of his speeches on the floor of the House. Its scary how everything that this man opposed or voted against going back to the seventies, turned out come back and hurt us. Your right, I can't believe how alone he is. It just shows that there were a lot of corrupt congressmen then, and there are a lot of corrupt congressmen now.
History will be kind to Ron Paul.
Not if we let the criminals write history.
This man's gotta be our next president, for our own survival.
I am very scared about the banks right now. I can't believe the market is near an all time high.
U.S. DOLLAR HOLDERS MAY BE FORCED TO ACCEPT IMF RESERVE ASSETS IF THEY WANT
TO DIVERSIFY; FLOOD OF DOLLARS THREATENS GLOBAL ECONOMY
Writing in the Financial Times, former Council on Foreign Relations
economist, C. Fred Bergsten, lays out a global financial crisis management
scenario that calls on the International Monetary Fund to absorb the flood
of dollars that are looking for safety outside of the United States.
Depositors would be issued instruments called SDRs (Special Drawing Rights),
which the IMF defines as, ?an an international reserve asset,? comprised of
a, ?basket of currencies, today consisting of the euro, Japanese yen, pound
sterling, and U.S. dollar.?
How to solve the problem of the dollar
By Fred Bergsten | The Financial Times
The world economy faces an acute policy dilemma that, if mishandled, could
bring on the mother of all monetary crises. Many dollar holders, including
central banks and sovereign wealth funds as well as private investors,
clearly want to diversify into other currencies. Since foreign dollar
holdings total at least $20,000bn, even a modest realisation of these
desires could produce a free fall of the US currency and huge disruptions to
markets and the world economy. Fears of such an outcome have risen sharply
in both official circles and the markets.

Nothing says great economy and market rally like news such as these:
Office Depot said it expects continued erosion of sales and earnings in the fourth quarter as housing-related struggles spread nationwide.
The Delray Beach-based office supply retailer said the housing slump affected its third quarter results in Florida and California, which made up 28 percent of North American sales during the period. Now, the company says that weakness is spreading to other U.S. markets, putting additional pressure on sales and margins.
You could just feel the vibe in that room, "who is this a-hole to give away our scam", and the smirky "well the idiots out there are too busy watching reality TV and playing with their iphones to ever catch on". Very dark forces run things these days.
YA!

Frank, are you afraid OF the banks,or afraid FOR them.Market Up, with this shit going on.........

These banker boys are in the process of stealing 30% of the HOUSES.
60 months from now you is going to own and profit from all this?
History will be kind to Ron Paul?
I'd rather have November 2008 be kind to Ron Paul.
If Ron Paul doesn't win as President and we still have an economy and a Central Bank by the time Bush leaves office, then Ron Paul should become the next Fed Chairman.
The only honest man currently in U.S. government. All hail his excellency, Ron Paul. My hat is off to him.
I have been reading his book, which is basically a recap of his speeches on the floor of the House.
It's a great book and I think every American needs to read it. It serves as a strong antidote to all of the pro-war insanity propaganda that we've heard from the media for so long.
Instead of buying crappy gifts made in China this year buy Ron Paul's book for your entire family. You'll be empowering them with knowledge and if you purchase "A Foreign Policy of Freedom" at www.ronpaul2008.com you'll also be contributing to the campaign.
Get them now though because it can take a week for those deliveries to come through - I think they're swamped with orders for merchandise right now.
Too bad he is not going to have a country by the time it comes to choose. Or maybe like my jail, he will lose just before it all goes down.
Marty
we need Ron Paul, or it's more of this...
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Wholesale prices shot up 3.2 percent in November, the biggest jump in 34 years
PPI just came in AT THE HIGHEST LEVELS SINCE 1981!
RP is a rare breed of politician- principled and visionary.
The voters of his district deserve our thanks for putting such a man in Congress.
Let’s be honest here.
Ron Paul’s over arching problem is his foreign policy ignorance.
He does not stand a chance of getting intelligent peoples votes, and majority of Americans are actually pretty intelligent contrary to some of you HP squatters opinion here.
In this globalized world we live in today, it is critical to have a strong understanding on how to guide this country thru all the turbulence constantly being caused by competing nations hungry to grab power.
This overshadows the good ideas Ron Paul may have in other areas.
Not only would America be practically destroyed if this guy makes it to Commander in Chief, but the entire world may be swallowed by China, Russia, EU, or Arabia.
When it comes to keeping America strong in our little globe, Ron Paul is not only a total idiot and moron, but very dangerous.
PS same exact goes for knuckle-head Kucinich.
PPS good news is, neither RP nor Kucinich stand a chance of garnering more then at most ½ to 1 % of the vote
PPPS anyone else on either party list would be better then these extreme jerks.
There is a personal story I have that I am spreading as far and wide as I can. It is about Ron Paul.
I became VERY upset with something Dr. Paul said on a television program (The View). I don't watch television....I saw the segment on the internet.
I wrote to his campaign and said that I was not going to support him anymore, etc., etc. That I was 60 years old, had NEVER in my entire life given money to ANY political candidate before, etc., etc. Quite vehement I was. I had a couple of quite civil e-mail exchanges with one of his campaign staff (who happened to be his granddaughter).
Quite amazingly last Friday morning I received a phone call....a phone call from RON PAUL himself! I was falling all over myself not knowing what to say. In a state of shock I was. He explained to me his position, I told me he was, is and will always be a HERO to me and perhaps that was why I reacted so vehemently when he said one little thing that upset me.
He called ME....one PERSON, one CITIZEN, another fellow HUMAN BEING. It was and is incredible. What a great MAN he is.
He cares. He really, really, really CARES.
well the idiots out there are too busy watching reality TV
Wouldn't video of a central banker being questioned be reality TV?
Listening to Ron Paul makes my heart sing :)
This old fool again?
AMEN sea to sea. I would vote for Ron Paul in a second since I agree with almost everything he says. Except foreign policy. I cannot vote for a man who is so naive as to think if we just suck Osama's dick every night all will be well.
It is downright scary that most HPers buy into his naive view of the world. Like it or not people, there are fucked up people in this world who want to hurt us. Pretending it is all our fault is stupid. If you don't think so, do a little reading on Neville Chamberalin and see how appeasing madmen works.
Listening to other people realize the importance of Ron Paul makes my heart sing...
Have you told everyone you know that all you want for Xmas is a donation on the 16th?

Please explain to me how invading Iraq and Afghanistan has made the US a more secure nation. We still have not found Osama bin Laden and the handful of terrorists that caused 9/11. Iraq had zero to do with 9/11. How does invading muslim nations stop terrorism? How does killing hundreds of thousands of innocent muslims make America more secure? Wouldn't you think that killing innocent people would incite more hatred and terrorism? Why is that so hard for you to understand?
If China carpet bombed Los Angeles and as a result killed your loved ones and countrymen then setup permanent bases here in the US wouldn't you feel an intense hatred towards the Chinese? Perhaps a hatred intense enough to drive you to devote your life to killing the Chinese?
These wars do not come free either. The huge cost comes out of your and every other American's wallet and places a huge burden of taxation on our economic livelihood and businesses. Economic strength is a vital component of the security of a nation too. Do you think the US can just keep extending itself militarily without having a significant impact on the health of the economy which directly affects national security.
To the contrary, your view has made the US far more vulnerable to economic insecurity by it's dependence on foreign creditors. Do you think the US economy can't collapse?
It is your view that is naive and dangerous to the security of America. Americans that promote your view need to grow up and understand that it is the long history of interventionist foreign policy in the Middle East that has incited Islamic terrorism toward the US. Islamic terrorism didn't just appear out of thin air. A blind, blanket approach to pre-emptive war and over-extension of the US military does not serve America's national security it actually places national security in a precarious position.
Maybe you should stop getting all of your news from Bill O'Reilly.
sea to shining sea said some garbage.
Anyone else would be better?
Puuuleaze. They are all in it for themselves. They fall all over themselves to sellout this country to the highest bidder or any bidder.
Do you really think those fakesters have your and the US's best interests in mind?
Some Americans may be more intelligent then people give them credit for here, but to call Dr. Paul a total idiot and moron, is totally moronic and idiotic.

Intelligent people like you have given us this:

And will likely give us more of the same with a Killary or a Ghouliani or a Huckleberry, or a Obomba or a Bomney or any of those Council on Foreign Relations members.
Too bad more people are watching American Idol than CSPAN. Too bad the MSM like ABC, NBC, CBS, CNBC, Fox, CNN and the rest of the sheep ignore Ron Paul. PMSNBC even did a smear job hit piece on Ron Paul. The right-wing radio bootlickers are trying to link Ron Paul to terrorists and the KKK. He may not win this time, but after the coming deep deep recession/depression, the people will finally wake up and keep those yellow belly RepubliCrats out of office.
BWA HA HA HA HA HA
Stocks up big
Bailout Part 2 is here (BK judge can lower mortgages)
HP loses again
after reading Sea to Shining Sea's comment, it sounds like Guiliani has another mistress posting on here :-)
My brother works at a DC area airport and has talked to just about all the candidates. He really liked and respected Ron Paul; they talked for quite a while, and Paul was genuinely interested in hearing my brother's opinions. My brother doesn't have an impressive job (a brilliant, over-educated under-achiever) and is not wealthy; the typical politician wouldn't have given him the time of day.
Paul is the genuine article, as close as it gets to Jimmy Stewart's character in 'Mr. Smith Goes to Washington'.
regarding the idiot who said no intelligent person would vote for ron paul... 95% of intelligent people don't bother voting... period.
