HousingPANIC Stupid Question of the Day

Are we still anti-establishment contrarian tin foil hatters, chicken littles, brown shirts and flying monkeys?

Or have HP'ers gone mainstream, now that events are proving us correct?

There are too many DailyKook Marxists on your blog to be considered mainstream. They are begging to have the big brother government run every aspect of their lives

I wish I could vomit up the red pill and be ignorant, like the rest of the sheep.

Communism was an awful experiment.

We are the new mainstream baby.

You can take that to the bank!

Mainstream. I listened to Shiller, Leamer, Thornberg for yrs. For awhile I was afraid they were wrong (I never bought a house). Now I'm really surprised that they were too optimistic. I never thought it would get this bad.

We'll never be mainstream because the vast majority hates us

Keefer,

I would love to hear some good FB stories from across the pond.
Can you please share with us what the housing crash is like in Europe and Britain?

I was actually called some of those words at work. I work at an elementary school in Los Angeles and many people made fun of me for being a renter. We had many flippers on staff, including the principal, office staff, and several teachers (some of them had husbands who quit their jobs because they were able to cash in on the refi craze).

The conversations from 03 to 06 were always about "I cant believe how much money my house is worth" or "I would never be able to afford my house if I had to buy it today" (this was always intentionally said in my presence).

The other topics of conversation, of course, were about trips to Europe, their latest remodeling of their homes, or what they bought at the Pottery Barn or Z Gallery. Or here's a good one, "I've got several Coach purses that go really well with my Beemer!"

Fast forward to today. Nobody talks anymore about how much FU%KING equity they have.

The mood has definitely changed.

I dont rub it in. I just inwardly gloat at them, especially those who cashed out their supposed phantom "equity". May they all go to HELL!

All I have to do is look at this overbuilt little city, Las Cruces. It's plain as the nose on your face.

There are too many DunceReport Dittoheads on your blog to be considered mainstream. They are begging to be fleeced yet again by a new set of Faux "revolutionaries" peddling the same old corporatist bullsh*t.

I don't care. I want my free healthcare so I can use drugs, have unsafe sex, and eat greasy food. The idiot taxpayers can fund my healthcare treatment.

Tin foil the cellphone. Now your location cannot be found. :)

When the SHTF bigtime will Jane/Juanita 6pack still think their $1500 coach bags were "good investments?"

How about Joe/Juan 6P? Will he still be digging his $1500 50" plasma (with no signal)?

Methinks an AR-15 and mucho rounds is a much better way to spend $1500.

As another dude here says, "Time will tell."

Merry Christmas all.

My nickname was bubble boy!

Now the same people tell me the bubble was obvious and that it did not take a genius to predict this outcome.

All I have to say to them is that I buy distressed assets, on my terms.

Got cash?

I thought this board was going mainstream, but I think there are to many "walled up in the basement with a lifetime supply of Spam and bullets waiting for the apocalypse" types here.

I LOVE the picture. I'm going to accessorize my Pooh Bear tomorrow, after I buy some tin foil. Oh, heck. I might as well make myself one of those hats too. I guess the time is right....

Great photo Keith!!!

Hhhhmmmm... Well, like another poster mentioned the majority of the homedebtors hate us today for being right. Although, they still won't say it out loud yet. Most will be loosing their shirts and socks too.

So, I guess my answer will be no mainstream. But I do predict that Keith and HP will get loads of media coverage within 6 mos. ;)

Ha! I sometimes question that decision myself. But then realize, I'd rather be coherent when that next wave arrives than be in a trance or better yet when the gauntlet is revealed.

Have no fear, the police will protect you. Just take a look at the fine job they did with the LA riots and New Orleans. Guns are dangerous. Only the government and criminals should be allowed to have them. We are sheeple waiting for the next slaughter. Pol Pot anyone?

I bet Greg Swan regrets taking on Housing Panic now. He has had over a year of being humiliated by us and also been proven demonstrably wrong in his analysis.

People can be wrong but it was his arrogance in attacking HP that proved his undoing. He should have just shut his trap and he could have quietly slipped into the night.

It bothers me that we're now basically mainstream. I'd say the only difference is that there are still a lot of idiots calling the bottom, saying next year will be better, etc. Whereas I expect 2008 to be quite challenging for most.

Then again, the point is not to be a contrarian for the sake of being contrary, but simply to be right and profit from it while the sheeple get poorer.

Yeah smart one, that's why 90% of us are voting for Dr Ron Paul.

Anonymous said...

Yeah you are about as far laft, anti-American, anti-military, anti-capitalism as the MSM.

Definitely mainstream.

It is blogs like this along with the NY Times that will destroy this once great nation.

Anonymous said...

So, given all the raving HP did in 2005:

What did we predict that was right?

1) we were in massive housing bubble
2) MSM was blowing the REIC
3) utterly nonsensical lending standards
4) massive US dollar dump
5) banking catastrophe
6) subprime loan companies would go bankrupt
7) stupid government bailouts
8) oil and gold going to explode
(remember when oil went back down to $50 after Katrina? Was was gold?)

what did we predict that was incorrect?

9) no general stock market crash in nominal terms....

Still open

joker) Indictments! Indictments! Indictments!

that tinfoil be speaking truth to power
