"The government is very adept at enticing us into voluntary slavery through debit, taxes, and inflation."

Ummm...just in case you haven't noticed, people are very adept at ALLOWING themselves to be enticed us into voluntary slavery through DEBT.

Maybe you can't do much about being shackled by taxes (although ~30% of those who appeal their tax assessments win), EVERYONE is able to reduce their spending.

Where is personal responsibility?

Bhutton is just the first of the assassinations

Why do I have a very funny feeling about this? When I saw the news the first thing I though of was the assassination that tripped off WW2.

Soon the fabric will unravel. Expect social issues will manifest themselves in unpredicatble ways. As the post here of "the Black Swan" articulates, this economic fiasco, the decline of the dollar, and the enevitable decline of US political authority over its own population and its so called Trade partners who now own the vast equity in the bankrupt ghost that once prevailed in the great global wars of the 20th century, is the historical equivalent of the Gothic Invasion of Rome in AD 450.

This is the end of the once promising ideal of the age of reason. The constitution shall be relagated to the dusty halls of the Magna Carta and the Codes of Hamurabi as once elegant ideals lost to the expediancy of mercant greed and social gratification. learn the rights of the peasant, for those are the only rights that will be afforded after the Black Swan has flown south to avoid the winter of American decline.

Its going to be bad, for sure. Question is, which group will take credit for it?

Bad feeling in the air.... I don't know if we're going to make it to the end of '07 before the next big event...fasten your seat belts.

I heard that the shots were fired by snipers, not the suicide bomber. If so, this SCREAMS of a high-level hit and Mushie must be directly involved.

CHAOS...and plenty of it.

Black Swan:

Democratic Nominee Barack Obama assassinated in late October 2008.

After major rioting in L.A., Oakland, President Bush declares California and New York to be "in rebellion" and suspends habeus corpus rights as per Article I, section 9.

Bush declares California to be "suspended" from the U.S. as long as the "state of emergency" is in force, as per executive order.

Electoral College representatives from California are arrested,
as well as all California legislators, resulting in a guaranteed Republican victory.

Supreme court in 5-4 decision Bush v. Schwarzenneger declares Bush's use of power to be legal. Minority justices literally protest outside of courtroom in revulsion.

President Cheney and VP Hucksterbee take the oath of office from Chief Justice Roberts.

Bush urges support for """national unity""" Administration.

Fox News endorses "firm leadership in crisis".

Arnold Schwarzenneger is killed in Sacramento by U.S. Special Forces after calling California Guard to protect the state Capitol and prevent Federal takeover. B2 bombers destroy Northern California electrical grid in 20 minutes.

Well......the borrow and spend Republicans have had 35+ years of being in power.

That is just over the top.

Any takeover of the US will be financial, not political.

"Black Swan" event?
Even Stevie Wonder could have seen Bhutto's death was coming.

This has a good ring to it. Thank you poster.

You guys are all idiots. You actually believe that we will enter a depression? The world has a much more diversified economy than every before. Our American economy makes up 25% of the entire world's share. That is one quarter folks! We are way too big to fail and the rest of the world won't let that happen.

Get real and get a grip. For almost thirty years, some people have wished for "doom and gloom" and they have predicted the same message for a very long time. They were wrong then and they will be wrong now.

Anonymous said...

WW2 was started when Hitler invaded Poland. The assasination you are thinking of is that of Archduke Franz Ferdinand which kicked of the WW1--The War to End All Wars.

But other than thatminor historical error--yeah, Bhutto's assasination could be the excuse.

The PTB know the shit is goint to be hitting the fan soon and they need something bigger than Paris Hilton going to jail or rehab to distract the sheeple.

Hhhmmm... that sounds very much like China's response to the the World. They tell UN delegates regarding their VETO decisions: "It's not political, it's just business." Hhhmmm...

Re: Anon 5:59

Let them try. Bumper stickers on redneck pickup trucks might say "Don't Mess With Texas," but let our wanna-be texan president try to mess with California and he might just find out what a bunch of liberals, crack pots and illegal aliens will do when you really piss them off.

California has one of the top ten economies in the WORLD. If California was a country we would be one of the G8.

So why is the Golden State broke? Simple. All of our federal tax dollars go to support roughly 47 of the other 49 states. The states that have 94 votes in the senate. It doesn't matter if Feinstein and Boxer are good Senators. 2 Votes against 94 just don't count for much.

And the people who live in those states. For the most part they hate all us left coasters just not enough to refuse to take our tax dollars.

So I say screw 'em. I say we take our movie and TV industry, our computer industry and secede from the union that is bleeding us dry.

Oh yeah we'll also take the port where all the Chinese crap comes from before it gets to WalMart.

The bursting of this bubble was so predictable it hardly qualifies as a black swan except to those who live in their fantasies instead of the real world.

noticed the site went back mostly to real estate rather than general complaints about the state of affairs, and could not post on the longer running section of general posts...noticed today in libertyforum.org science and technology section an article called the "amazing chicken powered automobile" and it basicly shows how a Brit uses sewer waste to produce a form of methane gasoline for 3 cents a gallon and a few machines.......and a little open space he "homesteads"

Anonymous said...

pardon the slanted hateisms on that site tho, just obviously slanted and hateism, which some cheap money may distract the perps from............

Anonymous said...

why will we have to wait for the chinesse factories to mass produce those small machines to produce 3 cents a gallon methanohol gasoline, while we make self sufficency illegal in the U.S. but for 5 times more drunken drivers????????///

Anonymous said...

hillbillys use to produce their own fuels till the revenuers came to smash the stills and thus steal the lands............. still gotta plant the feilds,,,, pardon my ragings

Anonymous said...

quite the puzzle getting to that libertyforum.org article...via any articles source page page bottom line to science and technology section, page one a disappointment...bookmark the daily article article page like as anewspaper........

I think 911 marked the beginning of crazy world ,it's been a crazy world from that point onward .

Katrina was the omen to tell us we were under water in housing .

American the Beautiful is sinking . The rule of law is vanishing . The brainwashed people of America are to corrupt/dumb to stand up for the proper solutions at this point in History . God help the people in power to do the right thing.Try to do the right thing yourself .

The other is the Prison-Corrections-Industrial-Complex.

A fresh out of high school graduate makes as much money with the DOC, with far more job security, than a starting professor at the University of California.

Do you know how hard it is to get a faculty job at the UC's? And how hard they work?

Prison budget has been exploding. State support for Universities going down.

Do you know why the Nazis were able to invade France so easily? The Nazis marched in walking backwards, and the French thought they were leaving :)

good news if you think about it.

surely CA is screwed for the same reason the federal government will be at some point. it keeps spending far more than its income. at least arnold and george haven't been spouting off about ending boom and bust and being prudent for the last decade like gordon brown!

14th century English Swan Recipe:

For to prepare a swan. Take & undo him & wash him, & do on a spit & lard him fair & roast him well; & dismember him on the best manner & make a fair carving, & the sauce thereto shall be made in this manner, & it is called:

Chaudon. Take the issue of the swan & wash it well, & scour the guts well with salt, & boil the issue all together til it be enough, & then take it up and wash it well & hew it small, & take bread & powder of ginger & of galingale & grind together & temper it with the broth, & color it with the blood. And when it is boiled & ground & strained, salt it, & boil it well together in a small pot & season it with a little vinegar.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

INGREDIENTS:

1 swan (see note)
Olive oil (see note)
DIRECTIONS:
With your hands or a pastry brush, coat the entire outside of a cleaned & gutted swan (being sure to reserve the giblets for the Chaudon sauce) with olive oil. Roast on either a spit or in an oven. (A modern rotisserie may be the closest many of us will be able to come to actual spit roasting, but if that is not possible, an oven will do the job as well.) Roast until done, basting often with broth or drippings. Carve into serving pieces and serve with Chaudon sauce.

Chaudon Sauce:

Swan giblets
Salt
Broth
Unseasoned toasted breadcrumbs (see note)
Ginger
Galingale
Red Wine Vinegar
Wash the blood from the giblets, and while still wet, sprinkle with a little salt. Place in a pot, cover with water and boil until done. Remove, drain, & cool. Chop the giblets into small pieces; place giblets and the broth, spices, & breadcrumbs in a food processor (or any equivalent device) and combine into a smooth gravy-like sauce. Strain if necessary. Place in a sauceboat, add salt if necessary, and bring to a soft boil. Reduce heat to a simmer & add a little vinegar for a slight tartness. Serve with the roasted swan.

Ummmmm. . . is that not what CA people voted for when they elected RR? Do you not remember the economists (the real ones) telling you that? Do you not remember them telling you it would take decades before you see the effect of taking books out of children's hands and feeding them ketchup?
