A time capsule of the greatest financial mania in the history of mankind, told in real-time by regular folks and patriots. May future generations better understand the madness of crowds, and how power and money corrupt.

I believe that a $1 U.S currency is now equals roughly about .60 of the Euro currency. I also believe that most Americano are fat, obese, like that stupid-ass clown Santa Claus... Too much Burger King, maybe ?
Heeeee, heeeee, heeeee...
Are those Doc Martens on the Easter Bunny?!?
I beleive in the first 2 but after i paid 3.07 for gas today i cant say i beleive in the third.....
I believe in REALTORS dressing up like Santa or the Easter Bunny to make some dollars
Classic post keith...right up there with the dead crow...LOL!!..
Keith thanks for keeping the board Entertaining, yet..Serious,..And Wacky at the same time...Cheers M8.
Alright I am done ...time for another Bong hit.
I believe that if the dollar ends up where I think it will, that bunny better stay in his hole or he'll be served up with some fava beans and a fine chianti. efff efff efff
The dollar is looking a bit silly
as long as technology makes taking care of old people cheap, we'll still believe in the dollar. if taking care of old people doesn't get cheaper, we'll go back to barter... isn't that what Reagan's treasury secretary thinks?
I believe in the Federal Reserve Bank, it is looking out for me. They are concerned about inflation, and they follow a strong dollar philosophy.
I am happy they stole the power to print money from us (the people) in 1913 and an unconstitutional income tax was forced upon us to pay interest to them.
I am glad our government colludes with the Federal Reserve to fund illegal wars so that the Military Industrial Complex can party on taking the lives of people in faraway lands all over the world. I am glad they do this with inflation instead of raising taxes because then we would understand more clearly how out of control our government has become. This is too scary and I would soil myself.
And now the yen's going through the roof!
I believe 301,139,947 people need it to live. (Population USA)
How weak is the dollar when it is tight from the high cost of living and many assets and workers are chasing it to provide sustenance?
Is that the bunny from that cool band Gram Rabbit?
Remember when more than a year ago we, HPers, were saying that November 07 would be interesting? We even were posting those charts and graphs showing the volume of the housing scam around this time? And we said that xmas was going to be very different this year?
Well, keep following Cramer and Kudlow, geniuses.
Santa is more real than the Yankee Peso.
why wasn't the realtor pin put up there? house prices always go up! that's what suzzane R friend told us...
They need to remove Washington from the dollar out of respect.
PeeWee Herman might be a good replacement.
"Daddy what the hell is this green paper under my pillow? I told that damned rabbit GOLD BULLION ONLY!"
Don't undersell the dollar. It is still the currency of the biggest economy on earth, even if that economy has been becoming weaker relative to others. Just imagine together: housing bust in Euroland and UK, US withdrawal from Iraq, Chinese stock exchange collapse - each not too unlikely to happen: the dollar would surge.
But the follow-up of pictures was funny :-)
I suffered cruel disillusions regarding #2, #1, and #3, in that order.
Isn't the debt/ income and housing religion even worse there in the UK?
Yet the GB pound trades at a record high? Dollar is getting oversold here- all the major currencies have their issues. Ours are just hanging out for everyone to see right now.
I still believe in the dollar. I just took some of em to the liqour store and they gave me some beer. Don;t be so down on the dollar, you can still get beer with em!!!
Cheers
Well lets see,
I did recieve gifts from 'santa' when I was little.
I also recieved an easter basket from a certain E. Bunny on easter.
I guess a dollar is still worth something too, maybe a pack of gum?
Santa gave me presents when I was little, and the Easter Bunny hid eggs. Real or imaginary is only a matter of perception, and the requirement of the third for land rights here makes it real enough.
"Yet the GB pound trades at a record high?"
the story is that europe won't be able to sell stuff because it's way too expensive so europe will fall next.
sometimes, it's best to be brave and go first. of course, when europe plunges, watch out below because if you invested in their currencies and stock, ouch!
with all the socialized benefits in europe, nobody knows how they'll be paid for so shit will happen there too.
The US Dollar is still outperforming the Zimbabwean Dollar
A wise Leprchaun once told me to only believe in gold. I only believe in Leprachauns.
Yes, I do still believe in the dollar and America. While it may become our economic darkest hour, historically it is not our darkest hour but just as it was then it will be now one of our nation's finest hours when we come face to face with the crisis and when the chips are down do the right thing. Just like bubbles, we will only know it was our finest hour when in hindsight we see the fruit of our efforts and sacrifice.
Good luck my fellow Americans, awaken to the deception that has led you astray and right yourselves and this nation.
The US Dollar is still outperforming the Zimbabwean Dollar
There are far more Zimbabwean dollars than US dollars so Zimbabwe for the win!
But the US is coming on strong (I mean dropping fast)...
$3.07 for Gas!! Give me a frickin break - here in Calif it is 3.40 to 4.12 in Bay Area!!!!!!!!
But yes, I asked Santa Clause for a Big Mexican Lottery win. . .I love the Peso. . .such a strong currency don't you think??
i believe that americans (not all) are stupid. this is the reason why we're in deep sh_t.
Who should I listen to:
1. A bunch of tinfoil-hat nutjobs on a blog
2. Ivy League MBA's like Stan O'Neal, Chuck Prince and President George Bush?
did you people know that the only solution to illegal immigration is the sinking dollar? think about it, if the dollar has the same or less value as the peso, illegals will stop coming. who wants our stinking dollars right?
I believe in this, right off the $1 bill:
NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM
Translation: "Our new secular order".
Peter t said,
Don't undersell the dollar.
Peter you have a point. Gold has been rising in just about all major currencies which may signal a general, growing lack of faith in credit-as-money or fiat currency. But the U.S. is running over a $50 trillion budget deficit per the Government Acountability Office under David Walker our U.S. comptroller. It has become clear to all that the U.S. government's only way out is through massive dollar devaluation. That means massive losses for foreign investors holding U.S. securities and treasuries. So the idea that the U.S. is still the best investment game in town no longer holds true. China and Japan have already been net sellers of treasuries in recent months. If there is a dramatic crash in the stock market there may be a temporary rally in the dollar as investors panic into T-bills but it won't last.

Keith and other Doom and Gloom believers have stated our economy was going to seriously contract for several years. And every time the have predicted all of this Gloom and Doom, they are PROVEN WRONG! America is still number one.
They all three rely on people believing in them. I think the case can be made that the first two have more faith and credit backing them than that green piece of paper.
I'll keep believing in the first two. I don't want a lump of coal from Santa. Don't need one! Bernanke took care of that.
"America is still number one".
You are right about that, but America has been co-opted and undermined by a bunch of criminals who salute the flag while they stab you in the back.
You meanz their not real!!! I'm now gonna kill myself.
RE: The future of the dollar...
Don't be alarmed.
Maintaining the value of the dollar is a solemn obligation backed by the full faith and credit of the United States.
V.L.
Anybody wanting to get rid of any of those nasty pieces of green paper can send them to me.
No, really, it's no problem.
You're very welcome. Don't mention it. :)
On a more serious note, it is interesting to note that the many other countries have seen RE bubbles as bad or worse than ours. Either all the central banks were doing the same stuff at the same time, or there really was a glut of cheap money looking for a place to go.
Some other countries seem to be a bit behind us on the rollercoaster, so their currencies may yet take a beating.
Santa-Clause and the Easter Bunny have more credibility than the dollar.
