The wisest advice you'll ever hear - and so incredibly relevant during today's mortgage meltdown and housing crash

"Neither a borrower nor a lender be;
For loan oft loses both itself and friend,
And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry."

- Shakespeare's Hamlet, 1603: LORD POLONIUS

I have an AMEX card with a 3.99% fixed for lifetime. I consolidated my debt to it. I figure with inflation running at 6% and going higher all the time, why not? I also have student loans at 4.25% along with a tax deduction on it.

So same advice to those on this board who are "shorting" the mortgage companies. Isn't shorting some kind of "borrowing"?

Until they change the terms (they reserve that right for "lifetime" too!)
