Ron Paul gets Yahoo home page exposure today: "Ron Paul remains longshot for GOP nom"

RP's been a bit too quiet lately - come on Ron, make some noise. But it's good to see major exposure like this today. I think his numbers are low in the polls today because most clueless Americans still don't know who's running. Hopefully they'll figure it out soon.

You can donate to Ron Paul here. Help cause a stink. Help frame the debate. Help stick it to the man.

AUSTIN, Texas - Ron Paul may be the political butterfly of the 2008 presidential campaign. An obscure congressman from Southeast Texas for most of his political career, Paul has metamorphosed into the favorite of those looking for a candidate outside the political mainstream.

Legions of die-hard fans formed across the country after Republican candidate debates and Internet blogs exposed his contrarian views.

Paul, 71, remains one of the longest of long shots for the GOP nomination, but that hasn't deterred supporters from making cold calls to voters in early contest states, plastering the Internet with plaudits, and loudly challenging Paul's White House rivals at campaign stops.

"I honestly believe that Congressman Ron Paul, as crazy as it might sound, I believe he is the father of the modern Republican Party," said Jason Stoddard, 31, an Austin, Texas, entrepreneur who has no formal ties to Paul's campaign but has made more than a thousand calls to Iowa voters urging their support.

The enthusiasm of admirers like Stoddard has boosted Paul's national profile and helped his campaign raise $3 million over the past three months — a fraction of the double-digit millions chalked up by the top-tier candidates, but a respectable sum for an underdog.

The only thing that sets Ron Paul apart from all the other republicans is sense of fiscal responsibility.

Bur he's really just another republican who will deprive the government of oxygen and then accuse it of always having been brain damaged.

Ron Paul for president is a promise for more of the same.

More power and influence for corporations.

The same greedy HMOs in charge of your health care.

The same republican bullsh*t for 4 more years.

RP wants to end the private federal reserve.

they single handedly tripled housing prices in 5 years by lowering rates to 1 percent!!!

That is an outrage that will destroy people for years to come. Especailly when the foreclosure tsunami becomes unstoppable.

End the fed. a private mafia prints our money and loans it to us. horrifying. please help us god.

"I honestly believe that Congressman Ron Paul, as crazy as it might sound, I believe he is the father of the modern Republican Party,"

Typical conservative stupidity. Barry Goldwater was the founder of the modern Republican Party.

Satan is the founder of the modern Republican party. Ron Paul wants to save it from itself

anonymous 10:15 loves big brother. You really want the government to manage everything for private citizens? With a resume like social security, FEMA, DOT (bridges anyone), who wouldn't want them conglomorating into a few more areas like health care? Idiot.

Always vote against every incumbent.

Gave two donations to the Ron Paul campaign. He is the only sane candidate with the correct position on the fed. I'm pro life too.

Do you think I'd vote for Hillary? Former Wal Mart board member?

Do you think I'll vote for Obama? Hussein middle name and now wants to invade Pakistan? Ya Pakistan -- lets see the hypocrisy of the Obama supporters.

The only reason the dems like Obama and Hillary is because of their identities and not their ideas.

If Ron misses the GOP ticket, does anyone know if he'll revert to Libertarian or Indepandant? He'll have my write in vote if nothing else.

Ron Paul will be on an ABC Debate Sunday and the Iowa straw poll is coming up. I mailed 9 hand written letters last night to folks in iowa. People have to know there is a choice against the same old BS the media aids and abets.

It has been proven the constitution can not protect itself. When the supreme court rules, through a chain of rulings, that the "Gold and Silver ONLY" clause means "Congress can give control of our money to a private cartel and BAN gold and silver in contracts", and the constitution has never been amended to change that clause, liberty is under attack.

By the way - there are some funny "ron paul facts" being put up.

Ron Paul delivers babies without his hands. He simply reads them the
Bill of Rights and they crawl out in anticipation of freedom.

Studies by the World Health Organization show that
Ron Paul is the leading cause of freedom among men.

When fascism goes to sleep at night, it checks under the
bed for Ron Paul.

In Braveheart, Mel Gibson was originally supposed to
scream "RON PAUL!" however, it was changed to just "Freedom!"

westwest888 , unlike you i assume i actually spent several years of my life in a country with 'socialized' health care an guesd what? It was nothing like the FUD spread by Ron Paul and his retarded minions. No waits, reasonable prices (think $25 for a doctors visit). No bureaucracy and paperwork (when was the last time you met a doctor who didn't have to employ a full time billing person?)

As for the other examples you mention, and FEMA in particular, all I have to say is that the government is never as ineffective as when the republicans are in charge (think Heck-Of-A-Job Brownie)

The US government put a man on the moon, defeated both Germany and Japan, built an interstate highway system as well as damns (Grand Coulee, Hoover)....

People like you try to drown the government, deprive it of oxygen to the point of brain damage, and then scream "Look, it's a no good retard!".

The government run by the right people can do things no corporation can.

RP is the real deal - believe it. I'm a recovering Demoncrat who never... EVER thought he'd find anything worthwhile on the "R" side of the aisle.

... for what RP thinks.

A government big enough to give you everything you want is also big enough to take away everything you have... do you really want Cheney-ac types to have MORE power?

I can't speak for westwest. Howver I spent 20 years in the socialist paradise that is Canada and the glorious people's health care.

Some tidbits:

When I was a teenager I royally fucked up my knees playing soccer and mogul skiing. Got to the point where I needed surgery. I had to wait almost a year for that surgery. A whole fucking year. That same surgery in the US would be done the next day.

Here are the current wait times for bone cancer surgeriesin Toronto:

http://www.waittimes.net/en/wt_proximity.aspx?city=&pc=M2m3a6&dist=50&site=11

3 months. Is that you want? Wait 3 months to remove tumors? This is what socialism means people. Can any of you honestly tell me that you would want to wait 3 agonizing months for this surgery in order to not have to deal with a billing department? Boy I can just imagine how much fun those 3 months might be. Wonderig every day if today might be the day that the cancer spreads.

And in order to have that wonderful "FREE" system here is a brief synopsis of the Canadian tax structure:

The sales tax in Canada is 6%. Oh not bad you say. That is 6% FEDERAL sales tax. On top of that add anywhere between 5 and 10% provincial sales tax. 15% sales tax, fun fun fun.

How about gas tax? You think $3 is high? Try $4 to $5 that is what Candians pay thanks to taxes.

Income tax eh? The highest income bracket in Canada is a little over $100K. $50K and you are considered "high income" in Canada and made to pay excise taxes. Fun fun fun fun.

Some more wait times for "free" health care in Canada:

radiation: 4 weeks

http://www.cancercare.on.ca/index_w
aittimesRadiation.asp#Trend

hip replacement: 235 days

http://www.waittimes.net/en/wt_data
_map.aspx?LHIN=9&Mod=0

This is what government run health care means. Anyone like the anon or some obese film maker from Michigan who tells you otherwise is lying plain and simple.

You want to have some bureaucrat at the DMV decide when you get cancer treatment? Then you go right ahead and vote for Hillary and her Democrat cohorts who promise your "FREE" healthcare.

But when you have a 9 month wait for hip replacement surgery don't come bitching to me about it.

Whoever wins the next election is going to be blamed for the mess that is unwinding now. If Ron Paul won, the economic situation would be used as 'proof' that his ideas don't work.

Nobody has the power to fix what's happening...so at least vote for somebody that is worthy of the blame.

I don't think any other Republican has a chance, so that will be Hillary. Can't think of a nicer person to have this happen to.

On the upside, the 'b-bu-but-CLINTON' Defense will be renewed for another decade.

Nice going Jason...with supporters like you Paul is finished! Why don't you call him a child molestor while you're at it!

Ron Paul for Pres!

Another $125 from me.

I have always voted Democrat/Independent, but this time, my vote will be for Ron Paul. He'll become an Independent if he doesn't get the GOP nomination. Either way, he has my vote.

He plans to eliminate the IRS and the Federal Reserve (a non-government agency who prints Monopoly money).

He voted against the war on Iraq... the war was about capturing Iraq's oil reserve because Sadaam was pricing his oil in Euros (not Gyros), and America could not let the Euro become the World's currency.

If we weren't over pillaging their resources and instilling Zionist beliefs and laws upon them, they (the terrorists) wouldn't have been over here crashing planes into buildings.

Another $30 billion in US taxpayers money going to Israel?? Hey, ISRAEL! FUND IT YOURSELF!!! The wars in the middle-east is YOUR problem! We, the working class of America, are working harder than ever than before, with less take-home pay, no affordable housing or health care, just so you have an existence in the world. Question is, what does Israel provide to the world? Wars?? You'd still be fighting with stones if it weren't for the taxpayers of America.

Anyways... REVOLUTION 2008... vote for Ron Paul.

Paranoid? perhaps. but that doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.

Egypt gets twice as much by the way. Yet surprisingly none of you Aryan Nation types seem to care. Wonder why that would be. Hmmmmm....

The religion of pieces strikes again, and this time it's on American soil:

Oakland Journalist Murdered by Muslims

The religion of peace claims another victim,

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) – Police are testing guns recovered from raids in which authorities arrested seven members of an Oakland Black Muslim splinter group who investigators suspect were involved in the killing of a journalist and two others.

Police Lt. Ersie Joyner said one of the guns found during the raids is thought to be the weapon that a masked attacker used Thursday morning to slay Chauncey Bailey, a journalist who was walking to work.

Bailey, 57, was the editor of the Oakland Post, and had been working on a story about Your Black Muslim Bakery before he was ambushed and slain, his colleagues said.

Before dawn Friday, officers raided the Muslim group’s headquarters at the original bakery, as well as three houses in Oakland that are tied to the group. Among those arrested was the son of the group’s founder, Yusuf Bey IV, who was booked on charges including homicide, robbery and assault.
