The Worst President Ever now has a 26% approval rating. Think that's bad? Just wait.

26%

Two Six percent.

Wow.

If I had to write a game plan for how to be the worst president ever, or to achieve a 74% disapproval rating, I'd have a tough time getting that low. I'd love to meet one of the 26%. They must be fascinating people. Kinda like OJ jurors.

And to think, that's 26% before the full impact of the housing crash hits. A year from now we may be looking at single digits. And I never thought it possible, but he's almost below where Nixon was when he was resigning. I see a new GOP slogan for 2008 - "We Hate Bush Too"

I'd say impeach the guy, but then you know who would fill the chair and you know how ugly that would be. Hell, I'd move to Europe if that happened (oh, heck, I'm already here)

Can January 2009 come fast enough? Will we, can we ever dig out of the Bush hole, or is it over for America as we know it?

Bush Hits Record Low Approval Rating of 26%

June 22 (Bloomberg) -- President George W. Bush's approval rating dropped to a record low, making him the least popular president since Richard Nixon

C'mon, tell the other half of the story. His approval rating is more than double that of the Dem congress. 9% anyone?

Yes - great point, our bought and paid for pathetic and corrupt Congress is also at an all-time low

The revolution is starting. HP's call to sweep the bums out could happen, the only problem with a corrupt 2-party system is that more bought-and-paid for bums would just replace the current ones

2008 will be a fun election. Vote for the Independent candiate, and vote against 100% of the incumbents.

U.S. Congress' approval rating hits all-time low

Just 14 percent of Americans have a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in the U.S. Congress, marking an all-time low, according to the latest Gallup's Confidence in Institutions survey.

The poll, conducted between June 11-14, found that the U.S. Congress is at its lowest ebb since Gallup began tracking congressional approval ratings in 1973, the Chicago Tribune reported Friday.

The previous lowest point for Congress was 18 percent, a dip reached at several points from 1991 to 1994, according to the report.

Just remember there was a draft going on at that time. How many of these people, and I use the term loosely, in the 26% merely approve because they think there's no chance his screw ups will hurt them? What would his percentage of approval be if a portion of these mental midgets were either subject to the draft or had a loved one subject to it?

My guess is he'd be in the teens.

I'd like to say low teens but damn there are some stupid bastards out there.

That 26% poll was taken before Dick - Go F*ck Yourself - Cheney came out of his undisclosed location to disclose that he believes he is not covered under the executive branch.

That should be worth another 1 or 2 point deficit in the next poll, getting closer and closer to Nixon territory.

Darth Vader is much less evil than Bush.

Add up all the people killed in all star wars movies and there are much less killed than killed in Iraq on both sides. Its true the planet of Alderan was destroyed but it was VERY thinly populated (and they had it comin anywayz!).

You might also want to point out that support for Democrats in Congress is even lower. The newsweek poll has them at 25%. 24% in a Gallup poll and 24% in an NBC poll.

What these polls show is that Americans are whiny little bitches. Last year they re-elected 90% of their Congressmen/women. Now 8 months later 75% of the people are bitching. And here's a prediction, in 2008 90%+ of congress will be re-elected yet again.

If it wasn't for amnesty I'd be in yes crowd. Dude's not perfect but he cut taxes, won't raise taxes and realizes unlike Kerry/Pelosi/Reid that terrorists actually do exist and aren't as Kerry put it a "nusiance like prostitution".

All the rest is bullshit anyway. Abortion, gay marriage, stem cells, Scooter Libby, executive privilige..nothing but bullshit issues used by both the left and right to get donations.

Keith,

You come across as an intelligent fellow. After all you are not one of the "sheeple". However I dont understand your hatred towards Bush. Do you believe he is at fault for the bubble???? Blame Greenspan for that one. Are you still upset that he "stole" the 2000 election? Blame the electoral college. Do you believe the "war on terrorism" does not exist? The Dems hava a lower approval rating than George W. Bush. Stick to your rants on real estate they are very informative. Stay off of rants on Bush. They make you seem like one of the "sheeple". After all who is it that Gallup polls? THE SHEEPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, this is the worst presidency/administration in U.S. history. The Bushco infection is a self-serving, lying, and yes...evil....junta.

Americans have been drugged by TV, computers, video games, and watered down "news"...it is time to wake up and take our country back from the corporate/military complex who have just about destroyed our future.

Look on the bright side - there will not be a Republican president for at least 20 years. . .think FDR after Hoover. . .and I am still a registered Republican!!!. . .although I will probably slink in and request a non-affiliated ballot. . .hmmmm maybe that is why Bloomberg went independent.

----------------------------------

You are not comparing apples to apples here. The star wars movies had a time line of, what weeks at the most per movie? Some movies covered perhaps only a couple of days.

So, I think the death toll in the star wars movies was much higher, on a per day basis.

If you look at it from the other way, from when we first meet Anakin as a child through his death in movie 6, I would say that over that time frame that vader caused much more death than Bush, though bush will hopefully only be in power for 8 years and not the 18+ vader was.....

Anyways, bush has not come close to the evil of vader when he light-sabered the younglings.....

-----------------------------------

you can understand the low congress rating and the fact that those polled likely voted for those in congress if you consider this:

I think most voters feel that their representative is great but the rest in congress sucks. They must think this because they voted for their rep.

Kind of like how people hate lawyers in general but think their lawyer is the best thing since the coming of Jesus.

The dem congress is at 14%. report all the news. 14% is the lowest ever after just winning over the congress. What happenned is the dem's only bash and have no plan. Do you really believe obama is going to be president.

true, very true.

Really, my only beef with bush is that he is f'ing up iraq and Afghanistan. We should have properly declared war on Afghanistan, put a draft in place and chased those little cowards all the way into Pakistan. What are the paks going to do? nuke us with the couple of nukes they have and guarantee their own total and complete destruction?

but no, we continue to fiddle-f*** around, burning lives and dollars.

I agree, but let's look at why: In 2006, the Dems ran on campaigns for ending the Iraq war, but once they got in office, they did the opposite. Other than Ron Paul, it doesn't metter who wins in 2008. And if Ron Paul gets much more threatening to the other status quo candidates (puppets), I wouldn't be a bit surprised if something "happened" to him. We're all f***ed either way.

Let me introduce you to my father, a life-long Republican. A retired Methodist minister. Loves Bush. Really.

When I point out the millions of Iraqi lives shattered by Bush's war of choice in Iraq (2 mill. refugees and counting) and the hundred thousand or so dead to date, my father shrugs. Really. I don't even bother reminding my father of the commandment that thou shalt not kill.

Dad listens to Rush every chance he gets and whenever I visit, he makes sure that a picture of Chimp and his idiot librarian wife are posted prominently on the wall (for my express benefit).

Don't forget the dems don't control the senate (thank you lieberman). Plus you need 60 votes in the senate to do anything. You also need 290 votes in the house to override a presidential veto. So the dems, although they control the house, have no real power.

And because of this, nothing positive will get done the next 19 months, and the country will be livid by November 2008

And screwed.

I'll give you my father's email address and you can talk to him. He told me when we were having an arguement about the Iraq War that he thinks things are going well and the Iraqi people are much better than under Saddam.

I'm going to paraphrase him, "I think this is one of the most honest, upfront and fair administrations that I have ever seen".

After that, I shut up because I knew he was living in la-la land (and he only watches Fox News).

I love the way that wingnuts try to spin the polls.

Yeah, the GOP held Congress for 10 years, led by crooks like recently indicted Tom Delay, and soon to be indicted Ted Stevens, but it's the Democrats who are in trouble.

Sure thing. The GOP has proven that they have no ability to govern, unless "governing" means crony capitalism, ie Haliburton. Remember Ken Lay and Enron? He was Bush's biggest contributor.

Bush/Cheney used the GOP Congress and the AG's office to shred the Constitution and enrich their friends. It was former Nixon council John Dean who said that Bush/Cheney were much worse than Nixon. Much worse.

Beyond the corruption is the incompetence, like Iraq, Katrina, the AG scandals, a ballooning deficit. After the tsunami of foreclosures washes over America, people are going to get the full idea behind Bush's "Ownership Society".

2008 will be a bloodbath for the GOP.

26% today...lower tomorrow.

Aside from the insane cost of housing, many Americans will soon have even greater difficulty affording housing as a result of an economic phenomenon known as global labor arbitrage.

Americans whose jobs have been shipped to India or China or who have been replaced by illegal aliens (construction industry, meat packing, etc.) or whose jobs have been filled by H-1B or L-1 visa holders certainly won't be able to afford to buy houses.

What's really sad is that most Americans are so blind that they cannot recognize the danger that this threat poses to their own economic well being and then take it out on the Congressmen who helped to enable this economic force at the ballot box.
