I am well over 30 years old and have never even considered contributing to a political candidate before. Today I donated to Ron Paul. I would like to thank Mr. Paul for speaking often and eloquently about the large elephants in the room that no other candidates ever even mention. Someday I hope to live in an America that teaches its children that debt is not a good thing.

Many of the things he says from an economic standpoint make perfect sense, HOWEVER, on a lot of other topics he is pretty scary and I could never support him for those reasons.

it would be interesting to know how many people around the world have their savings in dollars because, as people say, "a dollar [used to be] as good as gold." if the dollar tanks, things could be interesting!

it would also be interesting to know who is pushing Ron Paul to run because my read of history is that the irresponsible want the next bunch of folks to be responsible. i.e. feel obligated to respect their narcistic largesse.

maybe you've noticed, like I do, that these irresponsible folks then "become" priests and teachers... or promise to save the world like Colin Powell who was going to save the health care system!

in today's paper, I noticed that a minnesota state senator was working two jobs and, thus, couldn't show up at committee meetings and votes-- most likely because she expects to get two pensions-- one from the city and the other from the state as well as the daily $100 per diems!

and the minnesota governor, Tim Pawlenty, also refused to close the loop holes that corporations use to avoid payings taxes that should be reinvested in their communties..

the war between the rich and the poor, the haves and have nots will stay interesting.

hopefully ron paul will get some real repentence after making an altar call!

BTW: I'm surprised that he thought $500,000 in a month was a lot since, obviously, our printing presses are on and running at full speed!

You know, just because you believe in some of his positions, it doesn't mean you really want him to be President. The Presidency is a massively challenging *job*, on psychological, organization, managerial, and, yes, philosophical levels. What has this longtime representative from rural Texas done to show he can handle *all* aspects of the job?

Anyway, I'd be delighted to see Giuliani in the office, and could imagine CEO Romney (as opposed to fundamentalist Romney) having a good presidency, or even possibly McCain (but i'm more skeptical of his managerial skills)...

But President Paul? Wouldn't he be overwhelmed by day 5..?

Oh and I hate trading with other countries too. Close up the borders ad throw away the key. Who needs German cars when we have Chevrolet?

On and abortion should be banned. I think 14 year old girls having babies or pregnant rape/incest victims being forced to give birth is one sweet ass idea.

I also think the government shouldn't do anything that's not spelled out in the constituion. No more FAA, no more FBI, no more Interstate highways, no more national parks. None of that is in the constitution.

You go Ron!!

I have had one of these late term abortions and I wouldn't wish it on anyone else. How fortunate for you that you have not had to have one. Obviously you have no idea what the circumstances are that would lead to one of these abortions - maybe you too will find yourself in this position one day and no doubt become a little sympathetic.

On these two points, you have completely misrepresented Ron Paul. He absolutely believes in having a STRONG military, but does NOT believe in misusing it. Get the difference? Probably not; you seem mentally challenged.

And he is 100% FOR trade with other countries.

So obviously you are pulling this stuff out of your ignorant ass.

Abortion -- that's a heavy topic, and no one thinks it's good if teenage girls get raped, etc...but is it good to murder a helpless human being who can't even say, "Please dont' kill me before I am born"?

Maybe if the unborn were obnoxiously vocal like gay rights people, they'd not only be spared their lives, but be given SPECIAL rights like gays have achieved in some instances.

Okay, now that you've demonstrated a complete lack of understanding of constitutionalism please answer the following:
1. How are any of the other candidates addressing a 50 trillion dollar debt?
2. How are any of the other candidates addressing the fact that the GAO, CBO and the Federal reserve ( St. Louis branch ) have all stated or come out with reports stating that the U.S. is now insolvent?
3. What do the other candidates see as viable benchmarks for success in Iraq while the debt meter runs faster and faster and more American lives are lost?
4. How can the other candidates demonstrate that huge government bureaucracies like the Department of Homeland Security have actually given the taxpayer their money's worth considering the country's rapidly deteriorating financial condition?
5. How have the other candidates addressed the coming entitlement melt down?
6. How have the other candidates addressed the need to keep the executive branch within the confines of the Constitution so that accountability to the taxpayer through Congress is maintained?
I hear a great deal of criticism of RP but nobody has offered an alternative that will make a long term difference to this country. All the other candidates are offering the same old tired rhetoric which simply tells me that they can offer no solutions, no real leadership, and no hope. I fear our Republic is near its end. As is usually the case, a Republic ends with weak, corrupt leadership which we currently have in abundance, including those supported by the MSM and Financial elite.
No, Ron Paul is not Moses. He is an intelligent, honest, courageous man in the mold of those who founded our Republic. Give him a chance.

I like him but WHAT ARE HIS SOLUTIONS? He votes no, no, no, no, on everything. Then says he's going to get rid of the IRS in his first week. He says he's going to End Free Trade Agreements but when he's going to eliminate all tariffs. HUH? Where is our income going to come from? He can't do this. Bush has already drive us into a massive deficit.
