I don't think this incompetent and corrupt organization could do more damage to real estate clerks if they tried.
If I were a real estate clerk (ho ho, ho ho he he, ho ho ho ho ho he he he he he ho ho)
OK, seriously, if I were a real estate clerk (he he he hehe ho ho, heh he ho ho ho ho ho)
OK, one last try. If I were a real esta...
I can't get it out. But you know what I mean.
Anyway, instead of sending the NAR membership dues every quarter, I'd be gathering up my fellow real estate clerks and marching on NAR HQ in Chicago, turning the place over, and demanding the resignation of everyone in the building.
Real estate clerks of America - what are you doing? How much more of the NAR incompetence and blather will you stomach? Are you really THIS stupid? Don't you realize you're run by monkeys? Yes, you'll be losing your job soon. But at least go down with a fight! REALTOR REVOLUTION!
NAR Responds to 60 Minutes' May 13, 2007 Segment
CBS News Magazine Show Misses the Mark
CBS News Magazine Show Misses the Mark
In the world of political campaigns, it's a standard ploy to set the stage with an empty chair when one candidate refuses to debate his opponents. The CBS show 60 Minutes gave the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® the empty chair treatment in a May 13 segment that examined the impact of online brokerages on the real estate industry.
The show featured interviews with a representative from the now-defunct eRealty and the president and CEO of Redfin, but no one from NAR, even though NAR twice offered and prepared Association spokespersons for interviews with Leslie Stahl. It was CBS that made the decision it would rather interview our opponents and let them make unanswered -- and inaccurate and unfair -- accusations about REALTORS® and NAR policies.

I think NAR has lied for so long, they are completely oblivious to reality; they're unable to discern the truth from their machinations and spinning.
As hard as it might be to fathom, I suspect David Lereah's incessant spinning was simply one symptom of a systemic attitude problem that exists in NAR and the rest of the REIC (as well as much of American business, e.g. Detroit automakers).
God Save Us All, as the fallout after a decade of self-delusion is rarely painless....
because they are fools!!!
Because they're incapable of thinking for themselves?
Monkey see, monkey do.
Remember NAR members are the dumb jocks and cheerleaders from school. they'er followers
Just another NAR lie.
They did have a Realtwhore on 60 minutes - she was completely evasive when asked why a 6% commission is still justified on house values which have doubled.
She mumbled something about 'rising costs such as postage, gas, printing...' ............. ha, ha, ha.
Haggis
Yes I do think they are that dumb
Invest in the next big thing by buying the new "forever" stamp.
It time for another revolution, I think someone said once that a revolution every so often is actually good.
PS put that coffee down....
Coffee's for closers!
The 6% is so the NAR can write more wikipedia entries. Check out the wikipedia entry for Interest Only Mortgage.

Do they have a choice? I see the NAR no different than a union that forces its members to join. Try being an auto worker or a teacher without belonging to the union and see how far you get. No different with realtors and the NAR.
Look for the Realtor R!!!
I think I love Leslie Stahl, not only for the great story she did last Sunday, but because she is one hot "older" woman.
>Error: NAR is the industry's "governing body."
Fact: NAR is a trade association. It does not govern the industry.
It doesn't feel that way when they put their gaggle of lawyers on your ass.
I think that many probably joined for the same reason that I did! I still have my picture with David Lereah on the wall next to the picture of me with Mickey and Minnie at Disney World when I was 8!
I love Magic Kingdoms!
easy does it with those "ho ho ho's" you do know what happened with Don Imus. But then again we are talking about realit-whores.
Keith & All,
Just found a realtor discussion forum where we can ALL share the hate!

Completely true. About 1/3 to 1/2 the segment was talking to a Realtor. Of course, she was spinning like a top.
Facts are the NAR is using the legislatures (bribing and lobbbying politicians -- $$$) to keep their racket going and shut down choice for people.
What RedFin SHOULD have said is they are going to seek Federal grand jury indictments against the National Association of Realtors under the Federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.
They pay the annual dues so they can make six figure incomes working twenty hour weeks. Does'nt sound like a bad deal to me?
They are forced to join if they want access to thier single greatest tool, the MLS. If you don't join no MLS for you. Now, what would your average used house salesman do without that database? Not a whole lot I presume.
JAFO
It's because NAR is run under a monopoly-type structure.
Any agency owner who is a NAR member is required to have all of her agents sign up as NAR members.
I don't know what the big deal is if they don't join, if I were an owner I'd resign my membership before forcing all of my employees to join.
The one honest & good realtor I know is NOT a NAR member. Hmm... think there's a correlation there?
Are you kidding Keith . THe NAR was the biggest SPIN machine of free press cheerleading for the myths of the real estate industry in advertising history .
The dues were cheap . Must of been hard to finally have to shell out some real buck for the recent commercials when the media started questioning the boom .
You don't get it Keith , the NAR is the great spin master for the realtors to keep this easy money party going .
>> They pay the annual dues so they can make six figure incomes working twenty hour weeks. Does'nt sound like a bad deal to me?
Not at all. What it IS, however, is an imbalance that is FINALLY correcting.
I have laughed in the face of realtors from the beginning. Even before the current debacle of greed and delusion, I failed to see how these jokers justified a 6% commission. The MLS is a joke, and no less than a monopoly. It's simply information that should have been publicly available all along. (And it was, if you had even the slightest hacking skills.) And what's with the "percentage" idea, anyhow? Why does a realtor feel entitled in the least to taking more of your money simply because the house you buy/sell costs more money than the next? The work they do is the same.
The answer to all these questions in no surprise - greed. Here is the bottom line - you are only worth what people will pay you. I make good money, and I do it by actually producing something that others damn well want to pay for. If that changes, then I need to do something else. I never paid a realtor, and it looks like finally others are figuring that out. Those people made too much money for too little work for far too long, and are no small part of the problem today. And today I don't have the slightest sympathy for the wretches when I hear the crying.
Because they're, for the most part, uneducated cab drivers and waitresses.
I've got some relatives with a RE business. Lovely folks. But honestly, dead stupid.
That's not true anymore Jafo. You do not need to join the board to get access to MLS, the result of a 1999 federal anti-trust suit. You do need to be a licensed broker/salesman though.
I am a real estate agent, i havent even been one for a year yet and i recognize NAR as a racket. yes even though it voluntary it seems like they give me scare tactics like i must join them or else i wont beable to do certain things. personally why do we need them if a real estate agent cant go national and is tied to state boundaries? people think automatically agents are rich. its simply not the case the majority of the time.
