Imagine that... Casey Serin's Iamfacingforeclosure.com shuts down, didn't pay his ISP bill it appears...

Ever see that guy's stack of unpaid bills and foreclosure notices? Oh, man, I can't imagine being $1 in debt, let alone $2.2 million.

Anyone got any scoopage report it here. I'll sure miss the kid, hope he finds the $19.95 to keep going (until the Feds come a-callin').

Casey's starting a new blog:

Sure to be a hit with the REIC, as they also will be someone's little sex toy in their cells...

Bob Shallit: Investor's tale of woe winning big audience
By Bob Shallit - Bee Columnist
Published 12:00 am PST Wednesday, January 24, 2007
Casey Serin has had more than his 15 minutes of fame. He's been on the cover of USA Today, in the New York Times, on National Public Radio. Now The Bee.

The reason for his renown? The 24-year-old West Sacramento resident has been singularly unsuccessful as a real estate investor. And, unlike most people who've lost a ton of money, he's been happy -- eager, really -- to talk all about it.

Last year he launched a blog (iamfacingforeclosure.com) that chronicles in painful detail every mistake he's made since deciding to get rich "fixing and flipping" -- buying homes, making repairs and then selling them for a profit.

The site has caught fire, drawing thousands of people who follow Serin's every move like a soap opera.

"It's like a train wreck," he says of his story and the national attention it's attracted. People can't help but stare.

His investment tale is riveting. While working as a Web designer a couple of years ago, he saw one of those late-night infomercials on making a fortune in real estate. He spent $15,000 on classes right away. For a time, it seemed like money well spent.

He made $30,000 on his first "flip." But then, instead of taking things slowly, he acquired eight homes -- in Sacramento, Modesto, Utah, New Mexico and Texas -- in a span of seven months.

All were bought with no-money-down loans. And they were acquired just as the real estate market was turning south in each of those communities.

Bottom line: While Serin eventually was able to sell three of his homes, he went into foreclosure on five, with debts approaching $2 million.

"I realized I messed up big time," says Serin, who was born in Uzbekistan and moved with his family to this country when he was 12.

He started his blog with the idea of finding buyers for the properties. There weren't any takers, but he did find readers fascinated by his troubles.

So, he says, "I just started sharing my story."

On the blog, he's talked about the errors he's made, posted copies of correspondence with banks and included responses from his followers, some of whom are venomous.

"I'm amazed ... so many people want to kick you while you're down," he says.

Why bare all to the world? Part of it is self-serving. He hopes to find partners who can help him stay in the real estate game.

Part, he says, is altruistic.

"Maybe," he says, "some people can learn from my mistakes."

How am i going to get through work without my daily Casey fix? I need to9 know if he completes any more sweet deals!

I'll put up the 20 dollars a month to keep the site running. Cmon!

I note he's got new hip clothing on - the kid is a punk and will be treated as such

Maybe Casey finally wised up and retained an attorney who probably pointed out that he was facing serious charges and that his "altruistic" website would be State's evidence item #1.

Man, there is a Lifetime movie somewhere in this whole debacle. I almost feel sorry for his wife - the one he lied to about his financial condition.

I bet he violated his terms of use. Perhaps exceeding bandwidth. Why the heck he does not use a free blog host, especially with his net worth, is beyond me.

Another possibility is he is building the buzz for his audience. The last time that his blog was unavailable, he gained at least one new reader.

Here's the real reason guys...

Hey, wanted to give y’all a heads-up on why Casey (I Am Facing Foreclosure.com) is down.

After Casey posted the well-written NDA and airtight slavery contract from the 2 unnamed entertainment/education and mentoring moguls yesterday, they complained to his web host and the web host shut him down for a DMCA violation:

Your account on the gator25 has been suspended due to a DMCA complaint. Due to the nature of the complaint we have are required to take action.

From our Terms of Service:

Use of our services to infringe upon any copyright or trademark is prohibited. This includes but is not limited to unauthorized copying of music, books, photographs, or any other copyrighted work. The offer of sale of any counterfeit merchandise of a trademark holder will result in the immediate termination of your account. If you believe that your copyright or trademark is being infringed upon, please email abuse@hostgator.com with the information required. A list of required information may be found here. If the request is of a licensing issue, we may require further documentation.

To get his service restored, he has to fill out an appeal form and submit it to them, so yeah, we don’t expect to see him back up there any time soon.

What is interesting, though, is that they shut him down not because of the stuff he posted, but because they claimed that he had a link to a Rich Dad video (not the video itself, just a link). That’s not a DMCA violation, but you can’t blame them (Gator) for pulling a CYA maneuver. (It also didn’t hurt that their complaint threatened Gator with litigation as well… What would you do if you were receiving 10 dollars/month and someone threatened you over that paltry amount?)

He’s working hard this morning to get his site restored (minus those docs), so we’ll keep you posted.

Here’s a copy of the complaint as reported by Gator:

o whom it may concern,

I am writing this to demand the removal of the content displayed at the domain http://www.iamfacingforeclosure.com/. Casey Serin or domain author
has:

- posted confidential information regarding Erin Morgan, Joy O’Day and TAO Realty, L.L.C. despite having signed an NDA. The signed NDA is posted on the site with repeated admissions to the signature of the NDA.

- posted a link to a video created and owned by Robert Kiyosaki and / or Cashflow Technlogies / Rich Dad as well as posted, and allowed his bloggers to post, untruthful and slanderous information in effort to defame the character of Robert Kiyosaki

Casey Serin, iamfaingforeclosure.com and applicable persons or entities will soon be party to litigation for his actions. If your company continues to host Casey Serin’s blog, your company, by its inaction, could potentially be a party to this litigation as you have been formally notified.

Both Exurban Nation & Iamnotfacingforeclosure are doing an execellent job of keeping the masses updated on Casey.

Proof that these people are not qualified to warm the B team's bench:

"posted, and allowed his bloggers to post, untruthful and slanderous information in effort to defame the character of the parties aforementioned"

Sound good, unless you have even half an education. "Slander" for example, has nothing to do with the written word; futhermore, it's up to the court to decide what is or is not slander, or in this case libel.

What a bunch of pathetic posers.

Casey: Ignore these freaks of nature and keep bloggin!

Man, you can't pay for this level of free comedy.

Jerry Springer himself would be envious.

Now for something completely different:

File under "no big suprise", but MSN.com is reporting that:

"SEC investigates KB Home
On a separate housing note, home builder KB Home (KBH, news, msgs) is the latest company involved in a probe of its stock-options. The company said today that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has launched a formal investigation into how the company grants stock options to its employees.

In November, CEO Bruce Karatz retired from KB Home, after a review by the company found that it used "incorrect measurement dates" for financial-reporting purposes for its annual stock-option grants from 1998 to 2005. Karatz had agreed to repay KB Home about $13 million to correct the pricing errors."

Did someone say something about cockroaches?

CASEY SERIN LOOKS LIKE ONE OF THE TORTURE VICTIMS FROM THE MOVIE "HOSTEL"

Dr Housing Bubble said...

Here is the 15 second run down:

Casey posted a contract on his site yesterday from No Limit Ladies.

The contract was no disclosure and essentially sold Casey’s soul to these so called ladies.

The ladies fired back at Casey’s host site, GatorHost, and they covered their arse and pulled his site down including ablebuyer.com.

Casey has a new mentor which told him to put the contract up. Next, we see http://www.nolimitsladies.com/ go down to China Town.

Blog wars at their best. Let the rodents feed off one another. These are get rich folks with nothing put air between their ears.

Anonymous said...

Where'd he get the money to buy that snazzy hat?

Anonymous said...

He signed a contract with some woman that basically gave her full control over his story and revenues from it. He also signed a non disclosure agreement. yesterday he posted the contracts on his website. I think he was shutdown because of the contract and his violation of the terms.

What a loser.

BTW, this blog is much worse with moderation

They gypsies finally caught up with him. Don't mess with the gypsies, you won't like how they roll.

You borrow $2,000 from a gypsy you damn well better pay it back or you can kiss your nads goodbye.

Dear Keith,

I love your blog, but waiting for you to moderate comments is slowing the momentum of the discussion to a standstill.

It is like driving with the parking brake on.

Is there any hope for an improvement?

Thank you for your time invested in the blog; you have done a great service to the community.

well, hopefully 'mr rich dad' has a little heart burn over this... i'll never forget how much "rich dad" laughed at casey.

the sad part is: "mr rich dad" lives on "capitol gains," does nothing and tells other people that their work is useless.

Am I missing something; it worked for me 30 seconds ago?

Keith,

NONE of this - housing, economy, Iraq, Iran, etc. - matters.

Because...

VAN FUCKING HALEN HAS REUNITED! I'll be partying SO hard this summer when I see them! While I continue to dream about this magical Summer night later this year, you Debbie-Downer pessimistic buffoons will still be here waiting for the crash that will never happen.

Casey can file bankruptcy and get back in the game next year with 100% financing with cashback. There's a mortgage lender advertising those services in my area. One year into filing bankruptcy or foreclosure, he will get you a 100% + liar's loan. Only in America
