HousingPanic Stupid Question of the Day

What's taking Time magazine so long to correct their housing peak cover?

And instead of a homedebtor hugging his house, what should the new cover art be?

Debtor should hug his Gold and his Oil Stocks.....the real smart ones own those two things because they are not dumber

Uh... Maybe a cover where the "owner" is hugging the sheriff, serving the foreclosure notice?

The new title could be "Homeless! America's Declaration of Mortgage Independence!"

The picture should be exactly the same except the house that the homeowner is hugging has a few sticks of dynamite strapped to it with some coiled wires leading to a digital display that reads 00:01. Perhaps the homeowners face registers just the faintest inkling of confusion/concern as he notices, too late, the explosive and the timer.

Maybe the homedebtor taking it in the "backdoor?"

The Housing Bomb.

Add, in the background, a Communist Chinese functionary evicting an immigrant family whose job was lost to outsourcing.

How about a row of FBs laying in a frying pan and the Mr. Housing Bubble icon holding a spatula?

Time magazine won't correct their cover until we have reached the bottom of the housing bear market. Remember the "Death of Equities" article in Business Week (dated August 13th, 1979)?

My guess would be a picture showing a homedebtor hanging upside down and getting all his money shaken out of his pockets by the mortgage lender.

We'll know housing has hit bottom when Time magazine does a cover on home depreciation...the same way we knew it hit the top with this cover.

Coose a Led Zepplin album cover preferably 1 or houses of the holy

The next cover will be in the form of a question, like "is housing in trouble - soft landing or not?".

Then in 2008 or 2009 they'll do another one "Can house prices fall any farther?" It's that second one that'll call the bottom.

This same house, sitting on it’s lot, with the homedebtor’s arms and legs sticking out from underneath it.

New cover art? How about the GF/owner lying prostrate in front of the bank foreclosure rep?

I would think picturing the leveraged schmuck taking the chimney up the sh*t chute would be a good caricature

you will find your servant is your master...ohhh ohhh, you'll be wrapped around my finger. (house singing to its "owner" compliments of an old Police song).

Smug

Hmmm, I'm thinking a pic of the homedebter bent over taking a star of david in the a$$ with a caption along the lines of "jewed out housing market.... Can ya take anymore?"

The time magazine cover will say something like "Housing a horrible investment" right about when the market bottoms.

You'll know when to buy back in when these guys start reporting RE is a poor investment.
