What's that smell? It's the REIC and Congress - corrupt bedfellows out to screw America

Guess, no, just guess who is one of the biggest congressional PAC $ contributors for 2006?

Hint - it's the organization led by corrupt liars who'll say and do anything to make a buck. The organization made up of con men and women who made money off homedebtors on the way up the housing bubble, and now will be sucking their blood on the way down the housing crash. It's the organization whose interests rest with getting the do-nothing Congress to do nothing.

Yes, the National Association of Realtors is the #3 contributor of blood money to Congress. The bigtime source of the mother's milk of politics - PAC contributions.

When you ask yourself why Congress let the REIC spin out of control and unregulated these past few years, look right to the millions of dollars our elected whores in DC gladly took to look the other way.

Why did Congress recently change the law to allow gains on real estate to go tax free, avoiding capital gains? Look to the money.

Why did Congress not investigate or regulate the corrupt quid-pro-quo system of appraisers, mortgage brokers, bankers, realtors and developers? Look to the money.

Why is there no regulation of this industry, which encompasses the most significant investment holding for millions of American families? Look to the money.

Our system has been corrupted folks, and it is hopelessly broken. Our nation is run by whores on the take, and the Johns who support them.

And millions of Americans will now lose their homes and livelihoods as a direct result of this growing stench. Hopefully that will be enough to cause a change in America, a revolution which may start as soon as next Tuesday.

We deserve better. And if Americans don't put down the remote control, take notice and take action, then they'll simply get what's coming to them. And it ain't pretty.

Top PACs Jan - June 2006:
#3: NAR - $10,380,000

Top Industries 2005 - 2006:
Total
Real Estate/Construction $16,845,727
Party recipients:
Republicans: $11,565,774 (69%)
Democrats: $5,269,803 (31%)

Do you think the REIC realizes that their horse is becoming lame? Look at this loser in my pick, she was a rising Rep star. What goes around comes around.

Typical garbage, There are unscrupulous people in businuss, politics, religion and on the blog. But when will you blame the people buying the homes to make a quick buck. lying to lenders and builders about their intended purpose without thinks about the downside of their actions. Take resposibility for your actions. The housing industry is and will be the engine that keeps this country going.

If only the federal government was run like the one they have in New Jersey. Oh, never mind, it already is. Hahahaha!!!

Bailing out Florida real estate. Where does the insurance industry rank in terms of donations to Congress?

A Proposal for Federal Protection From Catastrophe Divides Insurers
"Even as profits on home insurance are soaring, some of the nation’s big insurers are turning to Washington in a bid to gain protection against future catastrophic losses. The two biggest companies, Allstate and State Farm, which provide nearly 35 percent of the insurance on American homes, are seeking legislation that would offer the same kind of program for hurricanes and other natural disasters as the government now promises to provide to commercial insurers in a future terrorism attack."

Spotted on 10/19, by an eagle-eyed Wonkette reader: The Mid-Atlantic Shredding Services truck making its way up to the Cheney compound at the Naval Observatory.

Fun fact: Mid-Atlantic Shredding Services has been contracted by the Secret Service for our Executive Branch’s record-not-keeping needs.

The present contractor providing Pickup & Destruction of Sensitive Waste Material services is Mid Atlantic Shredding Services and the current rate is $0.095 cents per lbs.

Shredding right before the election? Maybe the "Gay Old Pedophile" Party is not as confident of their ability to rig elections as they would like you to believe,

Hopefully his Tie gets stuck in the shredder and dices that fat pig into minute pieces.

Dont blame the congress and/or special interest groups. The American people are to blame. They jumped on board of the "post industrial society" back in the 1960's and now find that ship to be sinking.
The baby boomers will go down in history as the most degenerate "generation" of all times.

Hey Bork,

"Great read here folks, Don't let the Clinton graph fool you. He flattened the borrowing line by dipping into the Social Security funds and spending those instead."...

They have been using to prop the budget since LBJ, to promote both guns and butter. Clinton was the one to champion fiscal responsibility by stating by 2000 the budget would be halved. When gingrich came in he said lets do it one better, lets eliminate it altogether. Bush and this congress inherited it and gave tax refunds so that wealthiest could have "their money" back but that was given with bloated reciepts from boomer paying in to SSI. Just reckless.

very reckless indeed, we need a president who is going to stand up to congress, no matter what party they are in, and tell it like it is.

American politics has gone haywire, and our grandchildren's, grandchildren are going to be living out of cardboard boxes at the rate we are going.

Just Congress? You better start taking a look at every political office that affects them all the way down to your local level. Amazing what you'll find...

Look a little further down the list:

Federal National Mortgage Assn (FannieMae) $5,280,000

Considering they will be going belly up soon, that's money right out of the pockets of taxpayers.

And then of course, there is:

Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp (FreddieMac) $4,244,048 (down from $5,300,000)

The Dollar's Full-System Meltdown

Of course, everyone in Washington already knew that doomsday was approaching. That’s the way the system was designed from the very beginning. It’s all part of the madcap scheme to “starve the beast” and transfer the nation’s wealth to a handful of western plutocrats. That’s explains why the Fed and the White House whirred along like two spokes on the same wheel; every policy calculated to thrust the country headlong toward disaster.

Realtors were just doing their job--selling houses. Where were people getting the money to buy them is the question.

Lack of regulation of the lending / real estate industry isn't the problem. Follow the money back another step--where were the banks getting the cash to finance liar loans without giving a damn? A cheap inflationary money cake designed to forestall the hurt of the tech bubble bursting, frosted with a quasi-governmental agency that would buy the garbage loans.

As long as the Fed kept printing worthless greenbacks, and Fannie and Freddie promised to buy 'em back from people who never had them, someone was going to spend them.

The republicans getting the blame for easy credit that has allowed marginal borrowers in lower income brackets to buy (go deep into debt) for homes/goods they can't afford? But those are democrats getting this money they can't pay back.

Before it was dems demanding an answer to: "How do lower income people (without credit or with poor credit) get credit for a place of their own?"

Well, the truth is and will, as we've learned before, become apparent. Lend it to people that can't pay back and they won't.

No one is to blame except for dumbass, greedy borrowers. We have too much government now on both sides of the trough that we can't trust. We don't need more programs and regulation - WE NEED LESS.

For many, off the shelf bikes just won't cut it and a custom bike is the only way to go. For years, the idea of having a custom bike was out of the range of most budgets and most custom motorcycle kits were poor quality. However with the rise in interest in customized choppers, the custom motor cycle kit has become a great option for those who won't settle for any thing but a custom bike but either can't afford a Jessie James or desire a more intimate connection with their bike.
