No, I don't believe anything CNN has to say.

What party does the islamic terrorist want to win? Democrats.

They want liberals to run the county. It's easy to beat a woosey.

90% of the country doesn't realise we're at war. It's time to drop the economy into war mode.

We've been at war for 5 years and all I got was this SUV.

Its time to declare victory and come home. From everywhere. South Korea. Europe. Iraq. Everywhere. We've overstayed our welcome and our purpose in all these places and more. We've paid for this in lives, treasure and good will.

The world is a dangerous place. We should maintain the strongest military capabilities, and not hestitate to use them when needed. And to let our enemies know that we will. Other than that, we should not try to be the world's policeman. Its not good for the world or us.

It seems to me that neither the Republicans or the Democrats can get it right.

The truth is that both parties are dishonorable and corrupt. And we have the media to blame. The fact that any politician is EVER able to be interviewed on tv without getting specific about how he'd balance the budget is criminal.

Of course politicians are going to use wedge issues because the media doesn't bother asking them about the most important thing they do, raise money and allocate money. That stuff's just too BORING - which is fine, but if you're a journalist and you're not demanding answers to tough budget issues (where are the spending cuts coming from?, where are the taxes going to be raised?, and how much is it going to hurt?) then you have no right whatsoever to ride any kind of moral high horse because you're misuse of your position as a journalist is unpatriotic and you're part of the problem!

they talk about the budget to reporters every time they vote themselves a big raise!

Sadly, these ads are effective. An ad like this forces me to think not about R. failure but rather about the Dems and ask the question, "Just how good would the Dems be?" Dems haven't done anything about the Patriot's Act or the latest MCA legislation. Or Net Neutrality. Or the Iraq war. Or the integrity of the vote. Or healthcare. Or M3 publication. They haven't kept me safe from any of that. They've rolled over in fear, calling it bipartisanship. They haven't even been able to jettison their "tax and spend" and "soft on defense" monikers, facts notwithstanding. The neocons have framed the elections in terms of vision: the neocon "Good vs Evil" vs. "Give to the Poor"(?). Actually, I don't know what the Dem vision is. But in this greedy society (not to mention a beyond greedy and corrupt Congress), voting for "Good" salves the conscience in people that don't have time or the will to think about it. Until the Dems get across to people that this has nothing to do with "Good", and that they (the Dems) can actually accomplish something, they aren't going to win. All it's doing is encouragin people to split the vote - look what's happening in CT. Bottom line, Bush has accomplished a lot. He has transformed America and the world. The Dems don't come across as a group that can accomplish anything. Maybe the Dems can come up with a slogan like "God got hijacked" or something. To answer your question, "Yes, people are still buying this cr*p".

Follow on about ads: Maybe a topic could be ads for the Dems - like showing what the world will look like given our current trajectory? Or ads showing correlations between what we've got now and dictatorships? Or cases where noble goals are used for hidden purposes? They've called the Dems everything from ineffective to treasonous. The gloves should come off.

It's nice of the Republicans to remind everyone of their failure to secure Afghanistan and capture Bin Laden. That makes choosing my vote alot easier, and I choose against total abject failure.

Sure glad that CNN is so worried about being fair and objective. What hypocrits! They ought to be kicked off the air for trying of manipulate an election. The fact is, like it or not, the political add is correct--our world is in danger as is our nation from terrorists/Muslims. The questions which should be asked by voters in the U.S. are:
1) Who will best lead this nation in the challenges it currently faces with worldwide terrorism and will continue to face?
2) How can terrorism be stopped?
3) How will those elected solve other problems of this nation like the coming recession/depression?
4)What should be done with phony self righteous news organizations that have a clear political agenda?
CNN your pathetic!!! Why don't you stop broadcasting your propaganda in America and save it for your sister stations in Muslim nations. May your future be the same as all archaic news media --- utterly ignored and repulsed by any thinking human being.

I really could care less who wins the next election (almost every politician is a self serving baby kissing hypocrit) but I pray that whoever does win will take on the Islamic madness with the full might of the United States and her people and be ready for the coming depression caused by the housing bubble crash/future stock market collapse.

"The truth is that both parties are dishonorable and corrupt"....absolutely true.

America is truly the playground of a corrupt elite. Hillary is another globalist. The key to control is to provide the illusion of democracy by providing two candidates. However, you control the candidate selection process so that both candidates are "your people". That way you win no matter what.

That is where we are today. The potential candidates come from an ever smaller pool of elite. For example, 2008 could feature Jeb Bush vs Hillary Clinton....both family members of former presidents in the last 10 years. Their differences on "important topics" like gay marriage, sex scandals, abortion, flu-shots, bogey-men, etc. are debated ad nauseum while all the big issues (economy, rampant fraud in financial sector, lying by BushCo, erosion of dollar, election tampering, 9/11 investigation, erosion of freedom due to "terror", voting fraud, etc.) are not even made an issue or are "white-washed" away.

Why?...because both "hand picked" lackies are in total agreement on the BIG issues so they are avoided like the plague.

Why not just make the chimp "dictator for life" and end the facade?

The current system is so corrupt and controlled that there is no way to effect change from within the system.

The system must be destroyed and rebuilt.

But hey, I've got my McMansion, SUV, and latte...so who cares? (i.e. keep the pacifier in the baby's mouth and it won't scream...)

---------

The pacifier is about to come out -- I would say about July 2007. The US economy should be sliding into full recession by then and the stock market will have tanked. The newest radio add out here in Boise, ID --- come out to the real estate sale this WEEKEND ONLY--$24,000 to $64,000 off on homes.

Wouldn't it be great if our nation was able to toss out the system and rebuild it without this pathetic "two party" system (really one party)? Nothing like a full on second great depression to create the fuel for change. While we are fixing the political system don't forget to toss out the nausiating self legislating judges in the supreme court which are even more corrupt than their political compadres.

Funny how people approach the business of living. When it comes to existential treats like radical Islam, it looks like a lot of folks just want to close the curtains and huddle around the boob tube.

Their arguments boils down to: "Oh let's not be confrontaional, it will only anger them more, they will hate us more, and there will be trouble".

In 1984, George Orwell's party boss character said "If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face -- for ever ..." It looks to me like we're getting there, one CNN clip at a time.

We need to start asking questions. How did we get into this predicament in the first place? I realize that there is and for the forseeable future, a global war. But don't you ever ask, why are these people trying to harm our country? We need policy reform, if we really want to win the "war on terrorism".

Anonymous said...

First question to ask:
1) Is this or isn't this an age old struggle with a history far older than our countries?
Second question:
2) How should we respond?

Hillary or Osama?

No shit, we're at war. But have you every considered that we're fighting the wrong guys!

We've just succeeded in destablizing the entire Middle East and putting, very likely, a pro-Iranian regime into power in Iraq..

I find it ironic that this pro-Republican ad would show OBL and his henchman as the major threats, yet over 85% of our military resources are being allocated by the Bush Administration to Iraq (not much longer to be called Iraq), not Afghanistan or Pakistan...

To answer the question, yes, the FoxNews-eating, Walmart-shopping, SUV-driving crowd are still buying it because they and most of the American electorate is too stupid to ask the right questions....

I’m still buying some of this crap. Maybe my thinking has been compromised by one to many of those enemy capabilities briefings while I served in the military? They were very detailed reviews of conventional and non- conventional weapon systems that are no doubt still in inventories worldwide. Yes it is a very dangerous world that we live in. But back then I was surrounded by people who were dedicated to the principals of Liberty and enlightened equality.(we are all genetically linked to a common ancestor) Today I see a culture of follow the leader or follow your religion, more and more similar to the radical Taliban thinking every year. Yes, I am a Libertarian and I prefer being armed to the teeth. I am in no way against using a military force to protect America. I am disgusted however with the let the dogs loose barbaric hatred in America that is a mirror of our enemy’s mentality. To those who say “we gotta kill all of them terrorists and those evil Muslims are all terrorists.” Do you become a better patriot the more of “their” blood that is spilled? How “Taliban” you have become. They will destroy our country and rape our woman that is their goal. Again, how Taliban you have become. So Taliban that we really don’t focus on the future of Afghanistan, our focus is predominantly killing “them”, the people of Afghanistan are of marginal significance. This is the focus of our machine. One out of every four people in the world is Muslim and Arab Muslims make up only 15% of Muslims worldwide. We can continue to embrace our diversity or fall toward radicalism. America has already started its fall toward radicalism.
