1) be out shopping for a home knowing what they should know
2) buy because the builder is throwing in a "free" trip to Hawaii?

I'm a renter and I save $1300 per month by not buying in my region.
That's $15-16K per year. So, with an all encompassing trip to Hawaii averaging ~$1250 per person,

that's about 12 trips for me and if I wanted to bring my gf, 6 per year.
Now, the only problem is getting the time off so perhaps I'll limit it to 2 annual trips, the week following Thanksgiving and late February, and bank the remaining $10K.
I would thell them "Congratulations on getting out of poverty, enjoy your new better life. Myself, I choose to not buy a home and have resigned myself to a life of renting and poverty. :( "
Make it two trips to the Caribbean and bank $13K.
Heck, I'm just going to stay home and watch this mess materialize.

There are still people out there, buying because lots of people don't know what's going on in real estate. Their agent tells them that it's a 'buyer's market'.
I am shopping - for a DEAL! It is so much fun to go to open houses and tell the realtor you are shopping but not buying until prices become fair.
