Pat Buchanan trumps HP, declares "third world conquest of America"

Illegal immigration, in the context of a housing meltdown and recession, is going to be the single biggest issue in 2008. Addressing this subject is not racist, it's reality. If green people from France were the ones pouring across our border illegally, I'd have something to say about that too.

Nice to see Buchanan taking the lead in what is otherwise a leadership vacuum. Both parties are gutless and clueless on this issue, seeking to score political points versus addressing the issue head on. Hopefully we'll see a change, and if the Republicans push this issue, they can win on it.

Here's the synopsis of his new book, via Drudge:

As Rome passed away, so, the West is passing away, from the same causes and in much the same way. What the Danube and Rhine were to Rome, the Rio Grande and Mediterranean are to America and Europe, the frontiers of a civilization no longer defended.”

So begins a new work of warning from Pat Buchanan. And this time Buchanan goes all the way. STATE OF EMERGENCY: THIRD WORLD INVASION AND CONQUEST OF AMERICA hits streets this week and is designed to jolt readers with stats/analysis of illegal immigration gone dangerously wild.

Buchanan warns: “The children born in 2006 will witness in their lifetimes the death of the West."

Buchanan slams the president: “Concerned about his legacy, George W. Bush may yet live to see his name entered into the history of his country as the president who lost the American Southwest that James K. Polk won for the United States."

The Republican Party, a wholly owned subsidiary of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, is in the grip of a cult called “Economism.” It is all about money now. The GOP worships at the “Church of GDP”

I'll be buying the book today, and also announcing my candidacy for the Presidency. Platform?
1) Close all borders until further notice
2) Increase gasoline tax $0.25/ gallon - use proceeds to build trains
3) Means test Social Security

Will I get more than 1 vote?

blogger said...

you have my vote if you also add:

1) actively deport all illegals and put military on the border
2) make it illegal to hire an illegal or provide government services to illegals
3) do not allow citizenship for the children of two illegals born on US soil
4) cancel entire US tax system and replace with a flat tax and VAT or retail sales tax
5) cancel social security, medicare and medicaid and replace with a new system that pays for itself
6) across the board 10% cut in government spending
7) immediate pull out of iraq
8) phased in $1 a gallon gas tax - proceeds used to do a manhattan project on transit, fuel efficiency and incentives
9) change government accounting to GAAP standards
10) term limits for all government elected positions

I've got 100 more, but that'll be a good start

anon 1, I'll vote for you if you include anon 2's points in your platform.

Too bad PJB couldn't have won in '96. We'd be in far better shape today.

My copy is pre-ordered. Go Pat, go!

remember my predition about the increase in crime? It's happening, and it's gonna get worse as the illegals lose their housing jobs
_________

In a shift from trends of the past decade, violent crime is on the rise, fueling criticism of Bush administration policies as a wave of murders and shootings hits smaller cities and states with little experience with serious urban violence.

From Kansas City, Missouri, to Indianapolis, Indiana, places that rarely attract notice on annual FBI crime surveys are seeing significant increases in murder. Boston, once a model city in America's battle against gun violence, is poised to eclipse last year's homicide tally, which was the worst in a decade.

Buchanan never had a chance to win the presidency. The MSM hates PJB. If his opinions were made by a media darling, they would win the presidency hands down. Newt Gengrich is going to run in 2008 and is going to suffer the same fate as PJB. I don't think we will see a true Conservative win the presidency for many more years to come because the MSM will kill them.

I'll say. Yesterday I was at circuit city electronics in Mesa, AZ buying a car stereo. Suddenly 5 Mesa PD arrive and a few minutes later they have 4 illegal immigrants cuffed and on their way out. Last week at Fiesta Mall a gang of undocumented thugs "slammed" Robinsons May. Slamming is when they walk in and grab a whole handful of the racks and run out and into a get away car.The cashier says she sees this about 2-3 times a week now. It's going to get worse. No doubt about it.

Keith - I'll gladly add your suggestions, since I agree with all of them. Will you be my running mate? I kept it at three because that's all the lumpen can absorb at one time.

Agree the system is rigged, or at least so cumbersome it won't permit real change. At this point, it's sort of like closing the barn door way too late, re: immigration.

Yes, we're already seeing a spike in violent crime in areas formerly unheard of. Illegals have fanned- out all over, unlike earlier immigrant groups, who clustered in cities and assimiliated. Incentives to assimilate have been removed. Agricultural jobs have created illegal communities in the hinterlands. There are Latino bars clustered around orchards in WV, the least diverse state, per a recent report.

We have increased fraud, drunk driving, and petty crime, already. There's been a huge increase in rape. (crime statistics are tricky, BTW, and fudge aggregate numbers, counting hispanics as white) As economic conditions worsen, I guess we can add murder the benefits of unbridled immigration.

My fantasy ticket = Buchanan/Tancredo.

They're going to change our politics in America. Socialist should rejoice, and capitalist should prepare for the inevitable.

Look at what's happening south of the border.

I’ve lived in S. California most of my life, and from what I’ve seen, I think I know what the big problem is regarding crime and illegal migrants. They come to America, steal our lower class jobs, but they don’t directly cause the rapid rate in violent crime we’re seeing now. That mainly comes from the children of illegal’s, who pick up the thug life, hip-hop mantra.

Just one man’s opinion.

Just be glad the Spanish Catholics settled Mexico and not the Moslems. . .all those nice Mexicans are down at Our Lady of the Rosdary at Mass next to me. . .so we speak Spanish. . .at least we won't be foreced at gunpoint to worship Allah!!

Even though I have historically been a bit left of center, PJB would get my vote. He's straightforward and tells it like it is.

Kieth, regarding Iraq- although I never agreed with it in the first place, we simply cannot leave now- we made the mess and have to clean it up.

Don't worry, it ends well. There was a group of Americans that lived in North America for thousands of years without much incident but invaders from Spain came, conquered their lands and changed their culture. Most died out. The Spaniards were subsequently supplanted by similar invaders from England.

And now, we have another "invasion" that will once again change the landscape and culture. It happens over and over people, get over it.

And after people from the south finish invading, it will start all over with either 1.3 billion Chinese or 1.1 billion Indians in the next century or two. It'll be kind of funny. Large hispanic U.S. population complaining about invaders from the far east ;)

Anonymous said...

I doubt East Indians or anyone else would want to invade here after it's totally Mexican-ized, except as a cheap tourist destination.

And there are some Democrats (not supported by the DC establishment mind you) with a refreshing common sense.

John Tester on Immigration

“Our first priority should be to secure our borders and our ports. It’s what the 9/11 commission recommended, and plain common sense. We cannot deal with immigration as a nation without taking this first step. People who want to immigrate to the United States should follow the rules toward citizenship–no cuts in line. Becoming a citizen must continue to be a respectful, deliberate, and meaningful process.”

The DC Dems DID NOT support this guy, but he won the primary anyway. Tell me he wouldn't be a good replacement for Repub Conrad Burns.

Illegal Mexicans "invading" America!! Destroying our culture!! Nothing will be the same!! They will eat your children!!

Yawn. I've heard it all before. As far as I'm concerned, more power to them. They're only taking back what we stole from them 100 years ago. Who else is willing to do the jobs we make them stay "illegal" to do. Next topic, please. How about ... um ... housing?

blogger said...

"As far as I'm concerned, more power to them."

I cannot understand anyone who doesn't believe we should be a nation of laws. Don't like the law? Just break it.

Also, you have no appreciation for the millions of people around the world - educated, hard working, english speaking - who would kill to be American, who are going through the process legally, and will wait for years to see if their dream comes true.

It's not right that millions broke our laws, entered our country illegally, jumped the line, and politicians and law enforcement looked the other way

PJB is a capable, smart and a straight shooter. While he is right about illegal immigration, let us not lose sight of the fact that he is, by and large, an isolationist. It was the same agenda or platform he used when he last ran for president.

Guys, let's face it; in order to be globally competitive, we need to bring in desirable, skilled immigrants. What we need to do is weed out and remove all the undesirables and low life illegals, and give chance to those who are educated ones. The ones with education will assimilate and embrace the American culture faster than we all think.

PJB, no matter how charismatic the guy is, he will not win with an isolationsist view. Now let's talk housing rout.

Anonymous said...

I dont think there is really anyway that we can stop illegal immigrants from coming to America in masses..especially since we are about to give them all legal status..in 10 years the republican party wont be able to win the presidential elections anymore.

Illegal immigrants will not be the death of the West. We've dealt with previous waves of immigration before---Mr Buchanan's Irish-Catholic ancestors were the "wetbacks" of their day.

Outsourcing knowledge and capital, along with the failure to prepare for Peak Oil, will be the USA's demise.

Blaming it on poor Mexicans or Dominicans or whoever is exactly what the Church Of The Holy GDP wants you to think.

What's the difference?

Wake up: if there were middle class manufacturing jobs like in 1920 the immigrants would gladly assimilate to productive society.

That's the problem, not Mexicans by themselves. Illegal immigration is a problem, but a much smaller one than the big one---and if we were successful on the big one (i.e. good prosperity for all) fixing this one would be pretty easy.

Mexicans are not intrinsically politically and religiously hostile to Western democracy and society. They don't want Jihad. They want a job---just like the rest of the Americans. They aren't stealing stereos or cutting our lawns to prepare for wiping out the infidel. The USA is much better positioned than Europe in this way, but it has its own fatal blindness to selling out our technological patrimony to the Chinese.

Patrick Buchanan is another in a line of charlatans who find it easy to "blame shit on people who look different from us". Guess what?

There's a whole class of people devoted to pissing on you and us and singing that it's raining sunshine.

They look just like you, Pat. They vote just like you too Pat.

Central American culture was also formed by enslaving conquistadors.

Spanish was the language of the conquering enslavers; English, in part, the language of the Enlightenment.

Unless you are 100% aboriginal indian it's preposterous to "take back" from the US what it "stole" from the other (worse) empire.

Always hate mongering. Sounds like a bunch of Islamic Fundamentalists ragging about crusaders and infidels. You can't lump all mexicans, legal or not, into one basket. Borders are artificial anyway and especially over the past 100 years. Canadians and Mexicans and Americans use to cross pollenate each other for centuries.

Criminals should be rounded up and deported or locked up. Inciting hate toward a group or to blame them for one's personal misfortune or the nations is idiocy. Sounds like when the Chinese were persecuted after we no longer needed them for cheap labor.

If we really feared invasion we'd have secured our borders or addressed the issues that cause migration, under-employment in Mexico and the resistance of the ruling elite to change and invest in their own people.

We've had 40 years to invest in Mexico instead of China. Why didn't we? Because we knew that had we Mexico would be as powerful and rich as America or Canada and then where would out rich find a cheap labor source?

The Mexicans in New Orleans are willing to work their asses off for a better life while the local underclass whines and refused to lift a finger to work as it is seen as degrading.

And a lot of criminals are Americans. In fact I'm sure the vast majority are American and that crime rate among American's is porportionally higher than among Mexicans. Violent crime always gets the headlines but the crimes against Americans by Americans, especially white collar, well that is just business as usual.

So I was giving my opinion of our imigration laws at work, and I was told to apologize to all the Hispanics at work. Meanwhile none of them had even heard me say it. I was told that I may have offended someone at work who may have an illegal mother in the country.

Anon 7:18:05,

I agree with you. the problem with us Americans, is that we have wasted too much time debating about immigration issues that our members of Congress is not doing anything. We all agree that there is a problem, but there are NO SOLUTIONS being offered. It is a waste of time, energy and resources that in the meantime, China is becoming a dominant (super) power and our government is not doing anything about it.

Personally, the Enron scandal, the demise of the U.S. dollar, the threat to social security entitlements, outsourcing of jobs, lack of household savings and U.S. as the Empire of Debt, are by far our worst enemies and not the poor Mexicans.

Let's not waste out time and get distracted. We have a bigger fish to fry. We might wake up someday to find that there are no more illegals around, but at the same time living in a third world good old U.S.A. Let's balance this debate without inciting hate.

Anonymous said...

"We've dealt with previous waves of immigration before---"

But never on this scale. The illegal population today is greater than the total number of Irish, Jewish and British that ever came to this country, per PJB's book.

I don't know exact numbers, but that's huge, just the Irish alone is a huge number.

From Tony Blankley's review of
'State of Emergency':

"New to me was his citation to the fact that all 47 Mexican consulates in the United States are mandated to provide textbooks to U.S. schools with significant Hispanic populations, which textbooks teach history from the point of view of General Santa Ana—in which America stole the Southwest. The Los Angeles consulate, alone, has distributed 100,000 such textbooks just this year to the L.A. Unified School District."

Talk about Balkanization! This country aids it, and taxpayers fund it. Like Pat says, "suicide".

I just came from a vacation in NYC. I visited Ellis Island, the entry way for immigration into the U.S. What struck me is that we had a chance to inspect the immigrants for disease's or if they were to be a burden on society, they were to be returned to their homeland. We returned 240,000 out of 12 mill. I wish we could return all of the mooches in So. Calif.

I'm a US citizen and taxpayer. I married a Mexican girl because she was hot and I fell for her. We have two kids (both with dual citizenship). We've been married for 5 years. We are still waiting (2 years!) for my wife's green card - not even citizenship. We are jumping through craploads of hoops to make it all legitimate and then go to the next level (citizenship).
In my view, we Americans lost our right to bitch about all of the problems today caused by illegal immigrants because 10 years ago we had the opportunity hold govt leaders accountable. We failed to do so. And now here we sit together: a war against invisible terrorists with no end in sight, mounting financial defecits, thousands of miles of unsecured border with Mexico and Canada, 12 million illegal immigrants that pay no income taxes and still are allowed to use government services.
We can't turn back the clock. Gotta move forward. Securing the border is mandatory step one. The remaining in-house work should be done humanely and professionally. We are Americans, not Stalinists.
I don't give a damn about what Pat Buchanan has to say.

Anon 1:31:04,

That's precisely the reason why we need a reform so that these illegals, even with a temporary work visas, will be entitled to a decent wage and will level the playing field. How can these employers exploit if no one allows to be exploited. PJB is right, but doing nothing (status quo) will not do us any good. Something is better than nothing.

Anonymous said...

This "problem" is nearing its end. With the end of the housing boom and stricter enforcement, I suspect illegal border crossings will become about 50% less or about where they were before the Mexican crisis of 1997.

That will stem the pressure.

Anonymous said...

There will be no crackdown on illegal immigration because both major parties now count on the votes from millions of Hispanics in big cities. Voter fraud is rampant, even encouraged in 2006 America.

We are nearing the end of our history as a republic, and I expect an authoritarian state of some kind will replace the three branches we have now. DHS will be expanded into a national police force to deal with crime and any political troublemakers who dare challenge the ruling elite. Hillary Clinton may well be our first empress.

More news from the TX border:

US prosecuting attorney Debra Kanof is now saying she was only obeying orders and doing her job when she prosecuted two Border Patrol agents for pursuing and shooting an illegal alien -- not immigrant -- in a widely celebrated case. They now face 20 years in Federal prison (no parole muchacho) for shooting the illegal alien in the heinie (use of firearms adds mandatory time). But Ms. Kanof is now unhappy about the bad publicity she is getting.

Apparently the jury did not understand the magnitude of the supposed crime of which they convicted these agents; apparently they weren't told what the sentence could be. But the actual crimes sound like illegal procedure.

Meanwhile the illegal alien got full immunity for helping with the prosecution, even though some of his friends apparently tried to organize a retaliatory party to go hunt Border Patrol Agents.

Welcome to open borders and Free Trade.

Perhaps the agents can appeal to Caesar.

PJB, in his new book, blames the influx of illegal immigration on the possiblity that America wil become a third world country.

That's pathetic. It's the reckless overspending of our government and our own lifestyle of excessive borrowing, lack of savings (liquidity) just to name a few that is now threatening our economy.

Third world countries exist, not because of the color of their citizen's skin or because of their culture, but by the rampant corruption of their government.

In some degree, education plays a vital role. As I said before, let's weed out the undesirable illegal aliens and encourage migration of skilled and educated ones.

Anonymous said...

"It's the reckless overspending of our government and our own lifestyle of excessive borrowing, lack of savings (liquidity) just to name a few that is now threatening our economy."

That's one facet. There's a convergence of factors at play.

A big chunk of government spending goes for welfare /medical benefits, education costs, incarceration for the illegals who are over-represented in state & fed prisons, etc.

PJB is not opposed to a sane immigration policy, but this country hasn't had one since pre- 1965. We're reaping the "benefits" of that now, small wonder those who have studied this have a grim outlook for the future.

"Undesirable illegal aliens" vs what, "desirable" law breakers?
