If anyone believe the government data that inflation is NOT raging out of control, here's a reality check. But then again, your health insurance bill, your gas bill and your hotel bill might tip you off that something's not right in Denmark...
$20 hamburgers in London are my biggest tip-off. That darn dollar sure doesn't go as far as it used to, eh?

greenspanmess got it from economist
$20 burgers are inflation + exchange rate = f*cked
The exchange rate reflects the inflation, of course.
How many Zimbabwean shekels or whatever does it take to buy a hamburger in London?
Since the quality of the burger is enhanced by the aggregate atmosphere of London, its “core” price is only $4.95. Additionally, since hamburgers are up, consumers have switched to "dog crap" which is plentiful and has suffered virtually no inflation as its quality can not be improved. It is also dangerous to search the core of “dog crap” for price fluctuation.
$20 dollar hamburg, for that price The waitress had better turned around and said
"is there any other service i can provide you with today"
The USA's biggets "export" is treasury bonds. The moral hazard of under reporting inflation and lying with statistics helps hold up the bond market.

Food
-Kraft Mac N Cheese this winter was $.79 it is now $1.19
-Chicken breasts this winter $4.99/lb are now $6.99/lb
-Deli turkey was $5.99/lb is now $7.99/lb
-Cascade was $3.79 is now $5.99
inflation is going nuts, taxes are going up, my electric bill went from $60 per month in Dec to $90 in January (and we're down 60 kWh per month!), my food bill went from $80/week to $130/week with no change in what we buy.
