Sure hope the banker got out

Remember the beating I was taking by "the banker" who claimed to do the exact opposite of my recommendations (short the buidlers, long on oil stocks). I'll admit, it was looking bad for 72 hours after the Merril Lynch homebuilder stock pump and dump. But down, down, down we go for TOL and the Real Estate Industrial Complex stocks - lenders, builders, home improvement stores, banks, etc. And here comes $100 oil folks.

Hope the banker's doing OK with his job search now that his clients fired him for being such a doofus

Keith - thank you for your concern........you should take care though not to alienate me since the success of your blog (and resulting references in Business Week) coincided with my comments in November. More baseless and personal postings such as this last posting will cause me to go away (though I will still visit.....I continue to review your articles for stock advice).

Yes - TOL is down, but how are your other stocks doing? FNM? COP? Remember those? How bout GLD? Yes gold is up but you only had the foresight to predict its rise after it hit its all-time highs.

I suggest you review your previous postings to really determine how you are doing.......I think you will find a harsh reality.

Go Steelers.

FNM is not a stock, it is a pryamid scheme. Stocks get delisted when they fail to report. FNM?

That said, please don't scare "the banker" away. Us coal miners love the tweety noises our canaries make.

Robert Cote - your coal miner reference is offensive.....I would appreciate it if you edit your post.

Canaries in the coal mine are valued for their contributions. They are pampered and given special status because of their worth. Why would anyone be offended?

Oh, and I don't give any weight to requests for civil treatment from children that hide behind the bushes and throw rocks at the adults. Come out, show yourself. Then you'll get the benefit of the doubt until you demonstrate otherwise.

Canaries in coal mines have not been used for 20 years.

Again, comparing yourself to a coal miner (and comparing the banker to a canary) is a particularly insensitive comment in light of recent events.

I suggest you change your post, or refer to yourself in a different manner,

Kieth you are still down. I guess you thought this might be the closet you ever got to breaking even - PROBABLY right about that.

Dogcrap Green said...

If Pittburg is leadingin the half I should post a Kieth I told you so post. Even if they lose I think I will still mock the seahawk fans for being wrong during half time.

When you cash in your chips, then tell us how smart you are.

Anonymous trolls have no standing to complain about treatment. Put a name to the content and you'll get what you deserve. At this point however it may very well be that you don't put your name to your works BECAUSE you are afraid you would get what you deserve.

Coal miners work hard for their money and are kept in the dark and are sometimes sacraficed for greater financial interests. Yeah, coal miner works. And when "the_banker" gets real quiet then we will know something bad is in the air and we'll have at least that much warning. So yeah, canary works too.

Seriously, "the banker" is one of my top 5 favorite posters. seriously

Kind of like Al Haig was one of my all time favorite white house staffers. watching a meltdown is fun.

btw, waiting to get into a pub - doors open at 10pm here... to watch the steelers trounce the feeble seahawks.

HP prediction: PIT 30, SEA 7

that's bold, like all my predictions. but takes guts, eh?

Metroplexual said...

Rush Limbaugh likes the steelers. So I am betting Seahawks by 5.

Go Seahawks.

I have a lot riding on your football prediction. Or as you would say 1 weeks rent.

Hope you are right about that.

back to the game

I'm thining of pulling the trigger on canadian oil (and also protecting my $ denominated assets via the canadian $) by buying EWC. Should've pulled the trigger long ago on that one. Maybe this week.

Gold stocks have taken a beating the past couple of days, FWIW..."profit taking" perhaps. FCX for example is down from 65 to 58.40, that's 10% in three or four days.

CFC (Countrywide) continues to stymie those of us looking for the 20's.

Gotta think about these things in the long term. Long gold and short homebuilders & mortgage companies will certainly do better than the opposite.

I've been invested in PSQ. It's the inverse of the nasdaq, and AT&T. If you guys are familiar with David Grimaldi of Morgan Stanley, he's been very bullish on these two. So far so good. What do you guys think about AT&T?
