And then, right on schedule, rents started plummeting

Forget living like Jack Tripper or George Jefferson bitter renters. Now's the time to live like Donald Trump, but for pennies on the dollar, in a nice new house or condo - not an apartment complex.

America has millions of vacant homes, millions of failed flippers and desperate accidental landlords, millions of foreclosures and bank owned properties, and millions of reasons why rents will be low and going lower for years to come. And don't be fooled by the government inflation numbers, which will be surpressed by falling rents for years to come.

Enjoy bubble sitters. Enjoy bitter renters. You're sitting pretty now.

Rental Rates Begin To Drop With Home Prices - Rent Concessions Can Include Up To Three Months Of Free Rent

If one were to describe house prices to falling rocks, then, it would be safe to say that rents in South Florida are dropping like boulders.

"We're just trying to stay competitive," said Frank Leonor of Design Place to CBS4 David Sutta.

After years of price increases, property managers like Leonor are doing the unheard of: offering not one, not two, but three months free rent to get you in the door.

As predicted, as housing crashes, rents fall too. Could it get any better for bubble sitters?

Remember when trolls said this would never happen?

One more thing the trolls were wrong about. But damn, this one was just so obvious - it's called supply and demand.

Remember though that the government inflation data's #1 component is rent, so get ready for deflation (or the statistical deflating of inflation).

Home Sellers' Pain Is Renters' Gain - There's one bright side to the housing crisis: some lower rents.

But in the regions hit hardest by the subprime crisis, finding a rental apartment is easier and, in some cases, cheaper than it was before the crunch. Some homeowners forced out by foreclosure are finding rental deals that are at "discounts of 50% to 70% off what they were paying on their mortgages," says Brenda F. Gerdes, who owns Management Specialists Inc. in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

Behind the trend are tens of thousands of unsold condominium units that are being dumped on markets such as South Florida, Las Vegas and Phoenix.

I assume some times that everyone with a pulse must by now understand that the housing bubble was just one big unsustainable Ponzi Scheme....

And then I get a post like this:

It makes me shiver when I imagine any of you bitter renter peons using the word "think". It is almost certain that all of you are lacking 2 fundamental things (not necessarily in that order):

1. A brain to think with
2. Home ownership (requiring a brain)

Renters just don’t get it. Renting a shit-hole 1BR apartment is not an achievement it is a statement of utter incompetency and lack of character.

Since I’m an employer I always look at the employment applications looking for housing status. If you’re over 25 and rent you can forget about getting hired! You sorry ass dip-shit imbeciles. You really don’t get it. I might as well talk to the garbage can. Unf*cking believable!!!
