Why the hell are you commies voting on Tuesday?
I mean, almost every democracy in place schedule their elections during a week-end or call the day off.
The only reason that kinda makes sense to me is that doing it this way, ordinary people may not notice. Or the ones that are working their ass out all day end up not willing to freeze said ass waiting in line with all the peopple voting after work.
Since the new president is in place only in January, I see no point in doing that, do you?

Seeing the lines to vote is inspiring at the same time it's disgusting.

You shouldn't have to skip work to vote.

You shouldn't have to wait in line for hours to vote.

You shouldn't have to make the choice of working and making money, or voting.

We're better than this. Or at least we should be.

No more lines. They have things called computers now. And elections should be on weekends, not work days.

Now that the GOP is gone, the first thing the Dems should do is reform our voting system. The GOP didn't want that, but it doesn't matter anymore what they want or don't want.

Americans should be able to vote, freely, easily and swiftly.

The reason voting is on a Tuesday goes back to the days when America was an agrarian nation.

Church was on Sundays and people took Monday to travel to the polls to vote and then used Wed. to travel back.

It should be changed but that's why.

No talking about what will come next until the winner is declared.

We don't want to get ahead of ourselves just in case McCain ends up as presnit somehow.

It's completely possible.

Don't count your lizards before they're hatched.

Voting for McCain(Mcinsane)in NY. He's the closest thing to a decent republican in years. Unfortunately NY's two corrupt senators are not up for election, the most faithful to the Realthors being Schumer.

You gotta be kidding me:
I just heard Mc Cain saying he was supported by Aliens. The extraterestrial type ones. Like, from outer space...

What the hell?

I want someone who'll make me feel good about America. Here's a Rick Monday video:

If the Titanic got a new Capt after it hit the iceberg, it still would have gone down. I see no difference between the Titanic and the USA.

Things will only get worse. Obama is a typical politician who believes that govt is the solution.

$500 billion stimulus package is in the works. Despite having a budget deficit of $1 trillion next year.

Obama wants to increase the size of government. He wants to add 500,000 positions in Americorp, Peace Corps, Foreign Service, and the military.

More spending is exactly the wrong thing. Bill Clinton shrunk the federal govt when he was in office and had budget surpluses. People invested their money in business not US treasuries. Govt is a wasteful organization. More and more money is going into US treasuries and being wasted in an unproductive govt endeavor.

Don't expect an economic turnaround.

Govt is not the answer, govt is the problem.

The stock market is what I am watching right now. No change for now....but mark my words. Obama gets the win and there will be a dump like never seen. Only a stupid investor would leave his cash in the market when Obama has came right out and said he wants to repeal the Regan capital gains tax reforms. They are gonna sell everything and move their money to protect it.

If Mccain wins I predict cautious gains.
Obama will result in <8k by the end of the week and quite possible to dip into the 7s in the following week. Or worse.

Enjoy your messiah.

Dear El Presidente Boosh,

Today, the United States is going to elect a socialist, black man with a lot of baggage as its president. If Barack were truly "The Messiah" this would not be a big deal. But he's not. He has close ties to terrorists and racist ministers. The fact that he has a chance at all reflects on you and you alone. Your illegal war, and a housing bubble that was allowed to occur are all on you. Pelosi, Frank, Dodd et al will all be re-elected. God help us all.

Worst President in the history of this country indeed.

Went down at 6:30. Felt so light on my feet. About 100 people in front of me,100 or more behind in just a matter of minutes. This is a white liberal neighborhood in Alabama, but at Legion Field the lines are REALLY long and they have been lined up since 5:00. Just saw it on the news, black people pushing people in wheelchairs. And I don't care if this is the Titanic, there will be so much support behind Obama, it won't sink this time.

I for one am very excited for this change in the administration! Whether that mean for republican or democrat my hope is that it will increase consumer confidence! In turn, that will help our economy and housing.

My home town screwed up my absentee ballot- so I don't get to vote as an expat (US Citizen) in this election. Taxation w/o representation.

Anyway I'd vote for Barry and he'll win in a landslide. Plus I was from NJ, and that state is 80% BHO.

"If the Titanic got a new Capt after it hit the iceberg, it still would have gone down. I see no difference between the Titanic and the USA."

Yes, but a good "new" captain would have made dam sure that every single lifeboat would have been filled to the max. capacity and would have done it ASAP.

Lives would still have been lost but he would have done everything in his power to prevent the greatest loss of life.

So what is your point?

Anonymous said...

They've only been at-it for two years now, and I still can't believe in "either" of them.

I must be dysfunctional.............!

Go Obama.

Great Point Keith.
You forgot to mention that democrats need to bring back the fairness doctrine, something good old Reagan stopped.
That would mean an end to Rush, Sean and Bill O and all the hate and lies they spread.

Anonymous said...

Why vote? The winning republicrat has already been elected. Notice all the fear mongering about how close the election is, and how this year is more important than ever to get out and vote? The more one side screws up the the more support the other side side grabs through fear of the alternative. Why buy one party when you can have them all for twice the price? So yes, by all means, get out and vote for the messiah and the hero, just don't piss and moan when the ship is listing even further in another four years.

Anonymous said...

Wonder who Herb, the schlub who got bullied by his wife and Suzanne, is voting for. Probably Obama. Guys like Herb like to get screwed.

Bend over Herb cause here it comes again. Unless we have mercy and save you from yourself.

Today is a sad day. The reality is the real issues are tabled and agreed too.

1. Both candidates advocate massive immigration.
2. Both candidates voted for the bailout.

More bailouts. Then they vote on a massive amnesty. There has been no course correction on the critical issues.

Just an FYI, more marines died in motorcycle accidents than Iraq this year. The war has been over for more than a year -- thats the ground truth.

The NBPP will patrol election sites nationwide to counter voter intimidation and other threats of violence against Blacks.

AND

Fox and Rush just reported a Black Panther with a night stick blocked the door to the polls in PA for about an hour. He was 'removed' by law enforcement.

Is this isolated or just the begining? Just posting, don't care who wins. We are an Oligarcy as of September 18, 2008, so matters not the election, imo. The Republic is no more, we are debt slaves to the Private Bankers.
Hail King Paulson.

-----------------------------------

uh, we tried the computer thing before.....

Here in oregon there aren't any lines. they mail you the ballot 2 weeks beforehand. personally I think the dyeing of the thumb (like iraq did) is a good idea. easy to keep people form voting multiple times.

i sure hope the dems don't get filibuster proof majority. if they do, be afraid, very afraid. they will absolutely legislate our freedoms away. Like the "fairness doctrine". no discussion about making msnbc give equal time to the right.... just about making right wing radio give time to the left! the left has talk radio, not the right's fault nobody listens to it.

Obama wants to increase the size of government. He wants to add 500,000 positions in Americorp, Peace Corps, Foreign Service, and the military.

don't for get he wants to create his own personal security force, um, uh, i mean "civilian security force". their first mission will be to secure the elections in 2012.

maybe with the fairness doctrine reinstated we will get the liberal media to finally print the truth about how well iraq is doing now.

At my polling place, I was astonished by the number of utter and complete morons that populate this country (and who always seem to have a hand in my wallet)

Seriously, and I am a supporter of the Constitution, but we need to limit this so-called "right" of the people to vote. For example, if you are not a US citizen and do not pay anything in income taxes, you are nothing but a leech and should not get a say in how this country is run.

Or maybe we should just test the populace. I mean, we now have public education, so there is absolutely no reason that people should not know the various candidates' positions on the issues. If you fail the test, it is because you are just plain lazy, stupid or both or stupid. If you are just plain lazy, stupid, or both you should not get a say in how the country is run.

If you have been on public assistance for 1 year or more in the previous 4 years, you do not get to vote. As the old saying goes, "beggars cannot be choosers," and you should not get a say in how this country is run.

Heck - if they want to move homes/keep them out of foreclosure then they should just bring back the laws wherein only landowners are allowed to vote.

However, if you ever served in the US military in a combat unit, you get the right to vote for life. And, by combat unit I mean, combat unit - not you lame clowns sitting in the rear stroking your puds.

Mammoth said...

O.k.,good - so nobody here believes that Obama will fix all of America’s problems.

However, ask yourselves this question: What do you do when you get to the bottom of the barrel?

Answer: You quit digging. You try to turn things around.

This is why Obama is considered the candidate of hope.

The only ones who do not want the fairness doctrine to be brought back is the lying, cheating, disgusting, disgraceful neo-conservatives. I am a a republican who wants the fairness doctrine brought back into law. Don't every compare me to
Rush, Laura I., Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity...They are nuts.
I am a republican who is proud to vote for Barack Obama...
I will start writing to congress with petitions to bring back the fairness doctrine. If you are against this you are the one with a problem.

Oh yeah, the fairness doctrine is awesome!! Let's have a media that is as heavily regulated as the Chinese press while we're at it!!

The point about being an American is that you believe in individual liberty and freedom of speech even if that liberty or speech appears scary to you. The point is that being an American means you understand that the government can not solve your problems and typically will make them worse or even create the problems.

Case in point: The Housing Bubble.

Most of you losers can't call yourselves American. You don't even know what it means. You think being an American means waving a flag, drinking Coors Lite and tearing up when you sing the national anthem (or tearing up when you hear a speech about "hope and change" from Obama).

The Founding Fathers would spit on the lot of you.

after eight years of listening to right wing douche bags and after two years of listening to them here on this blog, it will finally be a relief to see them all eat crow and it will be even more enjoyable seeing them refuse to unite behind the new president.

They aren't capable of that because they are not real Americans.

Then again there is more to the republican party than right wing nut jobs. Maybe they will learn from obama's example and reform. Let's hope the democratic party does the same.

you are delusional if you think obama won because of what he has done. he has won in spite of himself because he is not bush. he would have lost by a landslide if he had run in 2000.

When Will Bower, an ardent Hillary Clinton supporter and lifelong Democrat, founded PUMA, Party Unity My A**, his mission was to express frustration in the Democratic Party. Fast forward six months to Election Day, and he is proud to say he's cast his ballot for the candidate he "trusts" most: John McCain.

"I see Barack Obama as essentially being the Democratic George Bush," Bower said. "It's a reactionary movement. People like John McCain and Hillary Clinton represent mores stability and sensibility to me."

spot on. obama is the dem's bush.

so true. obama is going to be more polarizing than the clintons or bush.

Illegal immigration and the US. I never understood this, the majority of Americans are illegal immigrants (hint: there's "native American" and there's illegal immigrants and descendants thereof, most people fit into the second category).
