Money disappears

"Now, with the collapse of big banks, we see that money disappears, is nothing and all these things that appear real are in fact of secondary importance.

"Those who build the house of their lives on sand, are those who build on things that are visible and tangible, such as success, career and money"

- Pope Benedict XVI, October 2008

WOW! I actually DO agree with the pope! (For once)

Sure, easy for him (the pope) to say!

POPE BENEDICT VIX?

Couldn't of said it better myself. First smart thing an ex-nazi has ever said. With the collapse of banks this is the first big break the church has in a while. I can see it now. Everyone is broke the atm's are dry and they are still passing the collection basket!

What A World, What A World!

Send a few more fat little boys his way...

After suffering through the Catholic School hypocrisy and those vicious evil nuns, I nominate this years Best Movie as Bill Mahers Religioulous.

Fuck the Pope. He is irrelevant. Let him sell that bullshit to someone who needs it like Bushco.

Bless me father for I have sinned, but you are a hypocrite, which is far worse.

Note to Pope: Get a new unmarked copy of the Book of Revelation and study it. It may come in handy soon.

Amen.

ummm, does the pope think that we're stupid? look at how he lives in Rome! and look how he built up all those McChurches over the years and called them holy places and, essentially, people were building their own holy places and now he's condemning them. what a hypocrit!

How to save your nest egg

EXCELLENT advice from our overlords: we MUST "...cut back on spending and put more into your retirement accounts...work a few more years..."...Working more is what really makes a difference."...

...every extra year of work means one less year you have to live off your savings..."

Anybody SEE WHERE THIS IS GOING?

You may be out of money but the Fed isn't:

"Oct. 6 (Bloomberg) -- The Federal Reserve will double its auctions of cash to banks to as much as $900 billion and is considering further steps to unfreeze short-term lending markets as the credit crunch deepens."

I ask again, where does the Fed find over $500 billion every week or more for the past three weeks?

I guess that means that we shouldn't expect a papal retreat going up on any of the barrier islands of the Gulf of Mexico, or the Outer Banks of North Carolina or......(insert popular sandbar of choice) anytime soon, right?

I live in the Bible Belt, near a bunch of sandbars where people build everything from luxury condos to cottages to mansions. I have always found it ironic that in this supposed stronghold of Christian piety, one never sees the following scripture hanging in anyone's front yard:

"But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rains came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash"
(Matt. 7:26-27).

I don't cite this to attack anyone who lives in these areas, or belittle their suffering, unless they are hypocrites who use scripture only while it suits them while pretending to be the image of piety. Given the politics of my area and all the homes built on sand, I think there are at least a few such people out there.

I also use it because it is implied in the papal message, and it may help toward putting Pope Benedict XVI's comments in a clearer context.

What an ironic statement from a man who has hseltered and protected pedophiles en masses. Who is conducting an active smear campaign against a rogue polish priest Father Marok(well he WAS a priest before the pope excommunicated him)and the polish congregation at Saint Stanislaus Church in St. Louis MO. The parishoners of St. Stans have millions in their coffers that the church wants St. Stans won't let the church have it, so the Pope removed their priest from them. Faather Marok came and said "I will give you communion" so the Pope excommunicated him.
Teh Pope should check the "sand" under his own feet before he opens his mouth.

What money? There wasn't any money in this mess to begin with. I don't see why everyone makes a big deal out of what's been going on in the last few years. I don't care personally. I say screw the middle class!!!!

Note to Bush, Cheney and Mozilo:

Here's how the Big Boys write.

Stand Back.

"And I gave her space to repent of her fornication, and she repented not. . . . Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they that repent of their deeds. . . And I will kill her children with death. . . ."
-Revelation 2:21-23

... so says the worlds greatest hypocrite. lets see him show the way by example, by moving out of those fancy palaces at the vatican and moving into a simple home.

Conspiracy theory or reality?

Search the Net for "Reinhardt prediction" (and maybe "Legatus"). According to this guy, who seems to have been nailing the market crashes to a "T" (either to the day or very very close) **months in advance**, the Pope is the one that's partially responsible!

And I will kill her children with death. . . ."

There's another way to kill em??

Where will the Pope sleep tonight?

Aren't the religious supposed to be compassionate?

Pomp and Circumstance?"

No. Pump and dump by Paulson.

Punishment.

The pope is trying to say that riches lay or lie in the afterlife; that gold on earth is not in line with a golden heaven.

I think this situation has/is a big wakeup call for many americans. Frankly, our "lifestyle" is a disgusting mess of overconsumption.

While you can agree with religion, or choose not to like me, the pope is speaking the truth. Those who place thier "worth" in terms of dollars are really empty.

You're an idiot.

"Although his family was staunchly anti-Nazi, Benedict XVI was a reluctant and brief member of the Hitler Youth, as mandated by the government. He joined the seminary in 1939 and was drafted in 1943. He served in an antiaircraft unit and in the regular military before deserting in 1945. He was captured by U.S. troops and was held as a prisoner of war. After World War II he returned to the seminary and was ordained in 1951. He turned to academia, earning a doctorate from the University of Munich in 1957. He spent about a dozen years writing and teaching dogma and theology . . . ."

Note "as mandated by the government." To call him an ex-Nazi is outlandish.

You poor, misinformed, prejudice people! The pope meant building our lives on any foundation except Christ is easily shattered. Grow up and educate yourselves!
