I had thought the HP blog was off line. Have not been here in awhile but it seems like the same old crowd of misfits.

Clearly there's going to be a run on Money Market Funds, starting today. So, we move it to insured FDIC savings accounts. If FDIC goes under (because the money went to bankrupt brokerage houses and insurance companies) we're lost.

Time for cash. Where is that coffee can? Why is coffee sold in VF bags...I don't have a coffee can!!!

Well, Bennies inkjets will get him and his ilk out of this mess for sure. He's merely doing the same thing his kinsmen did in Weimar Germany so long ago.

The middle class, like the German working class of old, won't be so lucky. They will bear the brunt of it and will be bancrupted. The sad thing about it....... These castrated lemmings of modern America don't have the sack hold the guilty accountable.

Sept. 17 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. Treasury said it will sell bills to allow the Federal Reserve to expand its balance sheet, a day after the government agreed to take over American International Group Inc.

``The Treasury Department announced today the initiation of a temporary Supplementary Financing Program at the request of the Federal Reserve,'' the department said in a statement today. ``The program will consist of a series of Treasury bills, apart from Treasury's current borrowing program.''

The new bill program ``will provide cash for use in the Federal Reserve initiatives,'' the Treasury said.

The bills will not have a uniform fixed term, giving the Treasury the same duration flexibility that it has with cash-management bills.

RE: "...will Bennie & The Inkjets get us out of this mess?"

No, but Sarah Palin will! This renegade Alaska governor has promised that, after she is elected, she will turn the government and Wall Street upside down and inside out.

I think Sarah Palin will make a great presidential sidekick. She's fun and perky and she makes the cutest faces -- just like a cheerleader. The fact that she is totally clueless will further enhance her entertainment value.

Matt Damon recently pointed out that statistically there is a 1 in 3 chance that John McCain would not finish his term as president. Palin says she's ready to be president, and I believe her. Her economic recovery plan sounds great:

1. Tougher rules on Wall Street to protect your life savings.

2. No special interest giveaways.

3. Lower taxes to create new jobs.

4. Offshore drilling to reduce gas prices.

This girl will bring us leadership and experience, for the change we need!

President Palin! That has a nice ring to it.

You go girl!

As Emeral is fond of saying, LETS KICK IT UP A NOTCH.

New York City, led by a mayor right off of Wall Street, has been spending money since 9-11 at twice the rate of inflation, so that the city’s surpluses of the last few years will provide only the briefest of cushions in a long downturn, while the subsidy that a thriving Wall Street provided to the rest of a foundering New York State economy will disappear. Expect soon to hear calls from both the city and the state for federal help.

Guess you've never experienced starvation, have you? You will not only budge an inch, you'll be taking giant steps into a camp whose motto is "Work Shall Set You Free."

Stop fooling yourself, tough guy...

It's time for a crash. But it's been time for a crash for several years now.

At work today a guy came around to my desk and said "boy, there are some real bargains out there!" I just shook my head.

Then I realized he was right. "Yes, I said, silver and gold look pretty cheap".

The speculative mindset has such a strong grip on the zeitgeist that we look at a financial meltdown as a 'buying opportunity'. What's wrong with us?

Keith, it doesn't matter how much money they print. The U.S.A. is the greatest nation in the world and thus everyone wants to buy our treasuries. Case in point, today, 3 month treasuries are now yielding a grand total of 0.02 percent! So people still trust the U.S.A. and money is still flowing into our country.

Not to worry America! The cavalery is coming to the rescue in form of VP Palin. She knows how to field dress a moose. Seriously, what could go wrong?

And you would just sit there and watch him be taken away to that camp, huh? Some American you are.

Fact is, if you have guns, you can hunt for food...you won't be hungry in the first place.

Sad but true, that's the way it will have to be. We will all have to look out for ourselves.

There is no way America can go through another Depression. Our government, people and financial institutions are too great to fail. Perhaps a mild recession, but that is it.

I thought the same thing when I bought some silver today. Get while the getting's good. Ride the golden gravy train. I feel so much like trash, dirt, filth, garbage for having to buy the stuff.

We have such a wreckless federal reserve and policies. We sold our manufacturing to China and sent all the decent jobs overseas. And we are going to do what? Base our economy on shiny and yellow sh!t speculation? Yea. We have a real ownersh!t society here.
