Sarah Palin weighs in on the bailout

"That’s why I say I, like every American I’m speaking with, were ill about this position that we have been put in where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health-care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy, helping the—it’s got to be all about job creation, too, shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track. So health-care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans. And trade, we’ve got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, scary thing. But one in five jobs being created in the trade sector today, we’ve got to look at that as more opportunity. All those things under the umbrella of job creation. This bailout is a part of that."

The bail-out is about health care and jobs creation?

Either she read a different bill than I did, or one of us is bat-sh*t crazy...

In this case, reading it is better than seeing it. Here, the talking points come through loud and clear. Good to see she's done her homework. She understood she'd have to give an oral report, right?

Is this really happening?

Is her brain connected to her mouth or is it Paulson trying to remote-controlling a puppet.

I saw the real interview and then I saw Tina Fey do her thing on SNL.

The US has become a fu@king joke. People around the world with money are probably pulling their money out of here so fast the computers can't keep up with it.

HPers. We ARE NOW a Latin American country, with Latin American style leaders and a Latin American economy.

Forget the popcorn, better get use to fried beans and tacos.

We on Wall Street do not deny our part. We created these securities, we rated them triple-A, we traded them without understanding them. Now that they have gone bad, we are real close to getting the rest of the country to take them off our hands.

Thanks, D.C. None of this would have been possible without you.

Very truly yours,
Wall Street

people in this country are becoming more and more stupid and our presidents are a representation of that. What do you expect from someone who has changed colleges every 6 months and does not have any solid Education. Did you know McCain has NO College education!! Welcome to America!

Actually the funniest thing lately is watching the die hard GOP shills unflaggingly stand behind her. Watch Fox news reports about her, it is priceless to hear them try to recast her unprecedented stupidity to make her look less like the village idiot.

The bailout is about health care reform? Genius.

In other news of the ridiculous the Dow is down almost 300 points at 10am. It's the market's way of crying for a bailout. It was supposed to get it last week, and now it's really upset. They'll get it soon enough. And watch the market soar when that happens.

Sounds like a case of "Buzzword Therapy" to me, what does this sound like to you?:

"Tax Relief"

"Helping middle-class families who are struggling with health care, housing, gas and groceries"

"Job creation"

"Shoring up our economy"

"Health Care Reform"

"Reining in spending"
----------------
You can just imagine her advisors telling her to pepper thr response to ANY question asked, with the above terms.

Are Americans really so stupid that they can be fooled by this idiot?

It's a video, so you'll need a flash plugin, and it'll take about 15 minutes to download on dialup.

we REQUIRE a 'Helicopter Ben' picture.. once again..

http://gregmankiw.blogspot.com/2008/09/physics-101.html

SEPTEMBER 29, 2008
Physics 101
From a freshman physics quiz given at Princeton a few days ago:
Problem 1. A famous thought experiment in economics involves dealing with a financial crisis by dropping money from a helicopter.

Ben Bernanke, Federal Reserve Chairman and former Princeton Economics Professor, decides to try this out over his old hometown. With his helicopter flying 1.0×10^1 m above the center of Fine Tower and in the direction of Nassau Hall, Ben gently releases a briefcase containing $1 million. Using the information that (i) Fine Tower is 6.0 × 10^1 m high, (ii) Nassau Hall is 1.5 × 10^1 m high and (iii) the centers of the two buildings are 3.0 × 10^2 m apart, and ignoring air resistance as you normally would:

a. [2 pts] How fast should Ben’s helicopter fly so that the briefcase lands in the center of the roof of Nassau Hall?

b. [1 pt] How long is the briefcase in the air?

c. [1 pt] How fast is the briefcase moving when it hits the roof of Nassau Hall?

d. [1 pt] How much faster would the financial relief have reached Nassau Hall if the briefcase had contained $2 million instead?

Thanks to Princeton Professor Shivaji Sondhi for sending this along.

This is the result of idiotic GOP campaign advisors trying to brainwash another idiot into spewing idiotic party platitudes.

Ignorance on parade.

Anybody with a high school education reading her nonsense reply is laughing and should be crying at the state of US politics.

Americanos, you are indeed FOOKED!

This bail-out has nothing to do with health care, job creation, or export and import of goods or services. We the people are in for a lot more problems. I feel sick to my stomach, our country has been taken over by monkeys. IQ tests needed badly!! Everyone should read the book the Rise and Fall of the Nation State. This is right on track. The fall of the Hegemon.

I am blown away most of you guys here actually think Barry is going to be better for America..
C'mon..

Palin had a bad interview. Guess what, no politician, CEO or common jerk is perfect. Everyone has a bad day.

McCain is not a bad choice.. at least he has a history of speaking up when he doesn't agree with his party. He seems like a leader.

Barry/O Bama seems like an "intellectual" and not at all clued into free market or what it takes to turn this country around.

Let's all just agree that this f-ing bill is WRONG and not going to work.. and our govt will vote for it - bi partisan.. and guess what.. McCain and/or Barry is going to inherit this Mess...

now tell me again.. you really think Barry is going to rally our government to try and turn around this mess? Seriously? He was in bed with ACORN, Freddie Mac, Fannie etc.. just do some research people...

vote McCain.. he's our best hope at this point..

Reminds me of that wise old saying:

"What a terrible thing to have lost one's mind. Or not to have a mind at all. How true that is." (D.Q.)

Do you think our favorite Fascist, Frank-Who-Hates-Scottsdale will weigh in on this? Sarah Palin is THE perfect Scottsdale Cougar prowling around for 30K millionaires to pay her bills.

Anonymous said...

Did you guys saw another interview with Katie Couric? This Sarah Palin brought her grandpa John with her. When asked by Couric if she was sorry about her comment to the voter question on Pakistan, grandpa John came to her rescue and she kinda look to him for some comfort. I'm afraid that if the president of Iran (Ahamadinejad) looks her straight in the eye, she might go looking for grandpa John for help.

Biden's comments on the bailout make Palin look like a genius.

Newsflash to Biden: There was no television in 1929. And you might want to double-check who was actually president.
