Here's one Senator standing up against Fannie and Freddie and their army of lobbyists who bribed his peers to look the other way

He must not have gotten his check this year.

Both my Texas senators voted against the housing bill too -- Republicans. They should of fillabustered.

Well, it's friday and this post will probably not appear until next week so I'll go out on a limb and predict that Paulson does another one of his Sunday night rescues for Lehman. The taxpayers are already on the hook for trillions so what's another hundred billion or so. Or maybe this would be a rescue too far. It's going to be a tough call. To further complicate things he may want to save some of his ammo for a WaMu rescue, which seems inevitable.

He is against the bill which the Democrats rammed through. For once I would like to hear a Republican take ownership for the mess they created. This all happened because of Bush policies intended to shrink the middleclass and make us so debt-burdened that we can't have the energy to stand up against the establishment. If it weren't for these toxic policies that also funded the war, then we would be a much more stabile country instead of looking at the worst economic melt-down since the Great Depression.
