90% of those reading on this board are renters....We Rent from the land lord, rent money from the bank, rent the right to remain on the property through payent of property taxes from the police powers behind the taxing authority.

No one ever owns property. Everyone is a renter, everyone is to a greater or lesser extent, a vassel and serf.

to happy jack: I don't think he spent the $ on a statement; he spent it to travel the world. Without knowing any more about him than that he has done his silly dance far and wide, I imagine he'd make a better president than most of our candidates and 100% of our senators. Something tells me this dude wouldn't be for bailouts, or screwing the middle/lower classes, or protecting the corporate stranglehold on both major parties (not to mention the media).

Thank you to my renters, a BIG thank you!

Over the last 20 years you have paid for my condos with your hard-earned rent monies.

Now that they are sold, my profits invested and the tax I paid on the sales wasted by Bushco-Cheneyburton on their phony oil-war to enrich their friends, I think of you fondly and often.

I wish ever one of you nothing but blue skies...

It's nice being semi-retired at 50.

Thanks again.

bye BYE, buy BUY!

Suckers.

Renting = Freedom

I would take a life of world travel over working my ass off to pay off a house I couldn't afford in the first place

Nice!

Hate to do it to you but I'll be travelling again Friday through Wednesday with no internet... you heard it here first...

I should have shot video of everywhere I've been the past few years. This dude rocks.

Relax Happy Jack, don't be a hater. A little love goes a long way.

Good f*cking God, we white people have NO rhythm whatsoever.

So, if everyone should rent, then who the hell owns anything?

I will admit, I rent from the bank. I did it responsibly by saving for my down payments and obtaining good credit. So if i have to rent, it may as well be in a form of renting with the ability to own.

Your video is the epitome of what is wrong with America. If everyone rented and no one owned then we would surely be over consuming in travel and all things related to it.

Further, I have two properties, and when they are payed off well before the thirty year notes are mature, I will be dancing.

Keep in mind Keith, that travel expences is one of the main reasons credit card debt is out of control in this country.

If you can afford to buy or rent from a bank, you cannot argue that in the long run you are better off to just simply rent.

I am not a bitter home owner, I am bitter about what current trends have done to the housing market and to the economy.

AHHHHHHHHHHH, LIFE WITHOUT A MORTGAGE!

I loved that. I don't think it is lost on anyone the contrast between the DMZ of North Korea compared to everywhere else pictured. The guard was probably itching to get his dance on but knew KJI was watching.

That was the best freakin video I have ever seen!
Some people just know how to live.

I retired at 30 because in my 20s I put my savings into starting a profitable business instead of using it to "buy" a house.

Who's the sucker now?

remember folks, you're all gonna die

life's too short to spend all your money on a mortgage

go travel, if you still can

Well, for all we know, the guy could have paid for all the trips with a HELOC . . . and counting on you to pay the bills through the government enforced robbery called bailout.

Hey Frank Got a deal for you. I only have 100K to my name. I will pay my flight out there, we will get a gym and I am 53 years old right? I am an attorney who was a pretty good athlete in my time, but screwed up on drugs, lost pretty wife, homeless, etc.,. Now to the point. You and I get in the ring, box 5 rounds, winner takes 30K. What do you say Frank? Take me up on it? Or, back down??? You pick a judge, I pick a judge, they pick a third judge. No rig, just nice sweet clean sweat and contact.

Love,

ATE-UP

Interesting twist on that whole garden gnome thing. Instead of taking a picture of a garden gnome in various places you take a video of yourself dancing. It looked like fun.

Personally, I don't take pictures when I travel, never have. I'll be honest and admit that it wasn't really a conscious decision at first so this justification is somewhat given in hindsight.

But I feel photography detracts from the moment, detracts from the experience. The camera is also often a shield or a barrier that travellers preserve between themselves and their surroundings. It lets the locals know that they're there just to amuse someone somewhere else.

I'd rather put the camera down and jot down some notes about whatever I'm thinking or feeling at the time. Read some of that stuff a year or 2 later and you will blow your own mind.

Sir! Keep away from the mushrooms.
