Passport:yes ... and I've taken vacations outside the States . If I could live anywhere it would be in a country that isn't under the intense Zionist influence we have shoved down our gullets here ... believe it or not I'd love to live in the Middle East .... Lebanon in particular would be my top choice followed by Dubai.

1) Do you have a passport?

Yes.

2) What countries have you visited?

Costa Rica.

3) If money were no object, in which country would you like to live?

United States.

4) Do you feel travel enriches your life?

Nope...relationships do though. When Helen Keller was asked if she could choose blindness or deafness she chose blindness. blindness just takes you away from things she said, while deafness takes you away from people.

5) Would you like to travel more?

Not really.

6) What is your favorite city in the world?

Don't really have one.

Passport? Yes, I lived in other countries for 11 years. I would most definitely like to travel more. I do not feel that I have been to enough countries to know what is my favorite city. Although, I used to like Hong Kong (before China's pollution made it nasty). London is great and so is Copenhagen. I also like Chicago.

Passport, yes.

What countires visited. France, Dominican Republic, Aruba, Mexico, lived 1 year in Quebec. Here's a tip, visit Quebec City. Great food, the language is French. It's like being in a small French town. Fantastic.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quebec_City

If money were no object, in which country would you like to live? Might need to just keep moving in that case.

Do you feel travel enriches your life? sure.

5) Would you like to travel more?
definately.

6) What is your favorite city in the world? Gotta go back to the Quebec thing. Liked it better than Paris.

Jersey Girl

1) Do you have a passport?

Yes. Just got one again after 15 years as a stay-at-home mom.

2) What countries have you visited?

Netherlands, England, Ireland, Spain, Mexico, Canada, Belgium, Belize, Honduras.

3) If money were no object, in which country would you like to live?

Ireland.

4) Do you feel travel enriches your life?

Yes, but there's also just as much happiness in your own backyard.

5) Would you like to travel more?

Would be nice.

6) What is your favorite city in the world?

London/Boston

bobanddoug said...

Yes on the passport. I have lived in Canada, Seoul, Singapore, Istanbul and Paris (and now Miami). Visited Japan, China, HKSAR, Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Turkey, Greece, Germany, Italy, the UK and Taiwan.

If money were not object, I'd probably live in Singapore.

Travel make me a better man.

I'd like to travel much more.

Fav city is either Osaka or Seoul. Probably Seoul.

1) Yes

2) All of east Asia (except for if-fy places like Cambodia, Laos, and Burma), Brazil, Argentina, England, Holland, Australia, NZ, and of course, Canada, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic.

3) Australia or New Zealand

4) Yes, absolutely, it really sharpens the mind and dispels this sort of insularity of a treadmill of a scheduled life in one's hometown/city. Also, American women are no fun; none of these seminars on eastern meditation/yoga have changed the overall manipulative, mean-spirited attitudes of these "seven sister school" type of professional women that you see these days in NY, DC, Boston, etc.

5) Provided I was a millionaire, yes. It's too expensive for a regular working person to be living it up on the road. It's important to be free to spend the cash and not always be on a budget because otherwise, one tends to be a burden on people they meet. I don't believe in couch surfing nor expecting friends to always be there, people are busy around the globe.

6) Amsterdam a/o Montreal for living life to its fullest but to prevent any type of pseudo-homesickness, Sydney would do the *Anglo-American* trick. And I'd never want to leave there for any American city. Montreal is convenient, for the obvious distance factor, but you're not really a resident there until you're fluent in Quebecois French.

All I can say is that this is complete
horseshit

In the good parts of LA, NY and Hawaii

32 MM for a mansion

are you fucking kidding me ?????

THIS MARKET NEEDS TO CRASH FAST AND HARD RIGHT NOW

Anonymous said...

1) yes

2) Antigua, Anguilla, Mexico, Panama, Guatemala, US (over 30 states), Canada, UK (Scotland/Ireland/Gibraltar/England), France, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Macau, Costa Rica (Home)

3) Very very curious about Australia but can't say 'live there' until I spend a lot of time there of course

4) Of course

5) Yes but probably won't, trying to save as much as possible

6) Hong Kong was very nice, London full of stuff to do (but if I lived there I would be very busy merely trying to come up with enough money to pay those outrageous prices)

Anonymous said...

1) Do you have a passport? - Yes

2) What countries have you visited?
England, France, Netherlands, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Jamaica.

3) If money were no object, in which country would you like to live?

Maybe Australia, but I'm very happy here in America.

4) Do you feel travel enriches your life?

Absolutely.

5) Would you like to travel more?

Absolutely.

6) What is your favorite city in the world?

It's hard to say. Sydney, NYC and LA are certainly at the top of the list.

Anonymous said...

>Hotel rooms are 1000 a day

I'm with you brother. Sometimes (hell, all the time) it seems to me like people must be printing money in their basements. But I think I do know who's bidding up the price of hotel rooms LA and NY.

It's the fucking corporations. They give perks to consequential employees rather than larger paychecks, because they don't want them to actually gain financial freedom, but at the same time remain content.

The rents, yeah that miffs me too.

Yes I have a passport. I have visited Mexico, Jamaica and British Honduras. I would like to live in France or Great Britain. Absolutely travel enriches my life. (How can it not when you get outside of yourself and see other people and cultures.) I have one regret and that is I haven't traveled as much as I had liked outside of the U.S. The current economy has been the number one reason why. My favorite city would be Paris. Even though I haven't been there sometimes I read about it and dream of how amazing it must be. Hope to turn that dream into a reality sometime soon.

Don't use 'travel is too expensive' as an excuse not to travel

For the sheeple, on tour packages, paying rack rates at hotels, eating at tourist restaurants, doing things the rest of the tourists do, it is.

Find a better way.

There is a better way.

And like almost everything else in life, don't follow the crowd. Don't be a sheeple.

Be free.

Favorite city, Favorite city...Must be New York because I lived there for 20 years, but I really love Paris. But, I think my favorite place is a small town called Warwick, New York (in Orange County).

BONUS...I really want to go to Yorkshire after re-reading all the James Herriott books.

I really enjoyed that video...I need to get out there!!!

Mark in San Diego said...

Love the video. . .really captures my spirit too. . .my "home ports" - San Diego/Zurich - home - world. . .I only wish I knew then what I know now or I would have been on the road at 18 rather than waiting till 35 to start traveling and living abroad. . .I truely envy the younger generation who are living and working all over the world . . .I have a friend staying this weekend who is just as much at home in Dubai or Mexico City as in Boulder Co (his home). My friends in Zurich work all over Europe, and Asia - all they need is a phone and laptop, and they are in business. . . a great time to be mobile.

My favorite city?? Hard to say - I still like London a lot - Paris has great food, and I have a soft spot for NYC because I went to grad school there and still have friends. . .

"Don't use 'travel is too expensive' as an excuse not to travel"

Keith, it's true but not for the reasons others have stated. I mean no one has to stay at a five star hotel in Sydney CBD to have a good time in Oz. Nowadays, as oppose to let's say 6-7 years ago, taking a contigious 2.5 weeks off to see HK, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore could cost me my job. Employers expect at most, one week holidays and the rest of the time, even if you'd accured a month, four day weekends. Our standard of living has really gone downhill.

Anonymous said...

"What is up with american women? They sure seem pissed off at the world."

It's true.

In particular, they're upset at men because on on hand, they browbeat them but then once the dude is completely pussywhipped (see "Greg/Dharma" or "Everyone Loves Raymond"), they don't find him attractive anymore and then they spend a lot of time in yoga/meditation, Tai Chi, and wiccan (a.k.a. witchcraft) classes complaining about men and screwing around with some hi-roller Rapper or H-fund trader who doesn't care about women himself (see Annette Benning's persona in "American Beauty").

All and all, if an American guy hadn't found the right girl by the end of high school, it's pretty much over in the urban/suburban USA. There are no date-able college-educated women after the age of 25. And even if there were, the ratio is ~10 compatible, decent men to that one perfect (using that term loosely) woman.

Afterwards, once he's experienced that big divorce in his early thirties, if he wants to maintain his sanity, he'll be pen pal-ing with east Asian (this excludes the Middle East a/o India, since those ladies also have weird hangups) or Brazilian women for the rest of his life. Hopefully, he'll be prudent if he decides to settle down again but with these women, his chances for happiness is a lot higher.

Anonymous said...

Keith, I think you need to write a travel book about doing it "a better way". It's obvious you know what you're talking about.
After all the excitment of Obama winning in November dies down, please do us a favor and write that book. I will be the first one in line at your book-signing at Borders.

Anonymous said...

What is up with american women? They sure seem pissed off at the world.

Average Americans both men and women in general are pissed of at the world. Americans standard of living has gone down as the rest of the worlds has gone up.

Women have been screwed even more than men due to the vast majority of them believing that debt=wealth and house prices only go up. Also, very few of the beneficiaries in Bush's screwed up economy such as stock brokers, corporate executives, Military contractors, etc are women.

Here's why both Obama and McCain are a scam:

Democrats endorse the “Global War on Terrorism”

Seriously, does anybody that has spent a minute thinking about the idea of a "global war on terror" think it makes any sense - except as a reason to give carte blanche to the military industrial complex to justify massive defense spending and as a veil for US imperialism and global dominance?

1) Do you have a passport?

No, If I did I would have to travel to garden spots like Iraq and Afghanistan, I have one half of that t-shirt already don't need the other - No thanks.

2) What countries have you visited?

Mostly from my time in Uncle Sugars Canoe Club. Canada, Mexico, Germany, France, Bahrain, UAE, Singapore, Hong Kong, PI, Guam, South Korea and Sri Lanka.

3) If money were no object, in which country would you like to live? Non-English speaking, probably Germany, English speaking, Right here in US if that wasn't an option then Canada, Australia maybe New Zealand.

4) Do you feel travel enriches your life?

I agree with previous poster, people and relationships enrich life, but by traveling you get to meet many more people that could enrich your life. It gives one a sense to see people and places for what they are minus the MSM spin. I think more people should get out just to broaden their mind a bit. I just love listening to someone that has never been farther than 25 miles from their birthplace spouting of about things they only know from the MSM. Sad.

5) Would you like to travel more?

Not really, never really liked airlines, like them even less since 9/11. I like being other places I hate getting there by airline.

6) What is your favorite city in the world?

I tend to shy away from Cities, smaller hamlets/villages quieter more intimate peaceful settings. Cities have a way of homogenizing people. Cities generally suck. :)

I don't really enjoy travel much. That's why I chose to live in my favorite place, so I don't have to travel. The exception is when my pilot friends invite us to hop on their jet and tag along with them. Much nicer than the ghetto airport and TSA crap :)

If and when the airlines improve service and we can go through the airport without being disrespected by pimple-faced $8/hour TSA dirtbags, I'll travel more.

Hopefully rising airfares will weed out a lot of the trash that ruins air travel for the rest of us.

1. Do you have a passport? Yes, I have 2 passports from different countries (dual citizenship). I had a passport since I was ten years old...and used it a lot back then.

2. What countries have you visited? I've lived in France, Canada, Brazil, and the USA. I've visited most countries in Europe, South and North America.

3. If money were no object, in which country would you like to live? Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, Zurich

4. Do you feel travel enriches your life? It depends how you travel and where you go. I find that many people pose as a world traveler, even though they're incapable of learning a second language fluently. They're too dumb or lazy to learn.

5. Would you like to travel more? Nope, I travel a lot already. I usually don't do those 3 nights in Paris type of trips. I like to go to a country to explore it for a month or more. I don't do 6 European countries in 10 days type of trip either. Those trips are pathetic, used just to stamp passport to show off.

6. What is your favorite city in the world? Visually and for cultural events, Paris. The French people sucks though.

1) Do you have a passport?

Yes, on my 4th actually. No, I don't keep the old pages and put them into the new one. If there were any unexpired visas, then I would keep those, but this has never happened, at least not yet.

2) What countries have you visited?

Too many to list individually. Nearly all of Europe (Ireland, Norway, Iceland, Sweden, the Baltic States are the exceptions), most of S. America, India, Pakistan, and a couple of others in Asia, about half a dozen African, mainly in East Africa.
Some of the countries I've visited are no longer countries (East Germany, Yugoslavia). In still others, the country there now was not the one I "visited" previously (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, etc.)
Haven't gone to Australia yet. Or Japan, China or Brazil. Those 4 are among the ones I plan to see before I die.

3) If money were no object, in which country would you like to live?

That's a no-brainer if the USA is on the list. Hands down, I'd stay in the USA.
If you mean other than the States, then possibly Uruguay, Chile or Argentina in that order.

4) Do you feel travel enriches your life?

Among many many other things, yes.
What's your point here? Why ask such a facile question?

5) Would you like to travel more?

No, the rate at which I travel now is fine for me.

6) What is your favorite city in the world?

hard to say
San Antonio, maybe.
Buenos Aires, maybe.
Hamburg, maybe.
