HP Exclusive: Shamed IndyMac CEO/Mortgage Fraudster Michael Perry Gave $2,300 to Corrupt Senator Chris Dodd


The stench coming from Chris Dodd might be even worse than the stench coming from Angelo Mozilo and Michael Perry. And that's pretty hard to do.

And the one committee who should be investigating the downfall of Countrywide and IndyMac? And the one Senator who should have put an end to IndyMac's fraud and corruption years ago?

You guessed it, it's Senator Dodd and his
committee on banking, housing and urban affairs.

The fox is guarding the hen house folks.

And the nation is f*cked.

Seriously, you are surprised that politicians are corrupt? Dodd is a crook, but no different than 533 other members of Congress. ( Except for Ron Paul)

What's sad is the American people either don't care, are too stupid,or have lost faith in their government to the point that they know their vote doesn't matter.

This government is beyond repair. Both parties are corrupt and need to be dismantled.

When the average Congress person makes over $200,000 and has a net worth in the millions, while the average US citizen makes 1/4 of that, there is a problem.

We need to vote every single incumbent out of office. Every one. It could not be any worse.

An Open Letter to Michael Perry and his executive staff

Your actions during the last year have been sick and deplorable. You should be investigated by the government, tried and jailed.

For the last year, you have been lieing to your employees, investors public and your customers. You have continually painted a rosey picture of IndyMac and cheerleaded while the stock continued to move down further and further.

This fund was never fooled by your lies and shorted all the way down even when the stock traded at a little over a dollar.

Sir, you should be investigated and jailed for your actions.

Ron Paul is just as big a crook as any of the other members of Congress.

He's the biggest pork-barrel politician in the Houston region, by a large margin.

He sells racism and homophobia to his dim-witted white power constituents just like plenty of other Republicans.

He's been a federal employee for over 20 years, yet the stupider elements of libertarianism keep seeing him as some free-market god, rather than just another Republican who demogogues on gay marriage and blacks marrying our white women just as much as any other member of his party.

He also contributed both to Dubya Shrub and Kerry in 2003!

I have hated Dodds from the first time I ever laid eyes on him . I have a radar for evil . Talk about coming up with a plan that couldn't be more of a Obstruction of true Justice .Actually I think the bail out plan was conceived by Mozillo because if you go back in the record ,Mozillo was stating a lot of this crap when the market just hit the shits in 2006 and Mozillo knew he was the holder of tons of toxic waste . I DIDN'T BENEFIT FROM TAKING THAT MONEY. AT THE TIME, $2,300 WAS THE GOING RATE TO BUY-OFF A SENATOR. IT'S NOT LIKE I GOT AN ABOVE MARKET RATE BRIBE.

Keith, two days ago I read that Obama was checking Dodd's background to see if he is fit for a VP position! Can you imagine an Obama/Dodd ticket? The mere fact that Obama was considering Dodd as a potential running mate is enough to turn me off. I am giving up on all politicians and am planning to frame my voter registration card and hang it on my bathroom wall.

According to the United States 14th Amendment, it clearly states "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States.”

However, John McCain was NOT born in the US!

McCain was actually born to American parents but in the Panama Canal Zone, not in the US.

According to Prof. Chin, that is not enough to satisfy the constitutional requirement stating that our president must be a “natural-born citizen.”

News Flash: Many individual Americans, some of whom happen to own businesses, give money to polticians. One business owner's donation of $2,300 doesn't make the politician completely beholden to the donor nor does it make the whole political system hopelessly corrupt. There are politicians and organizations that take YOUR side. Find them. Give them money. Raise hell.

Those with multiple accounts under $100,000 are probably screwed. During the S & L mess I had a friend with three accounts each under $100,000 that totaled $230,000. She was reimbursed a total of $100,000. Those at the S & L assured her all the money was insured. There was another S & L across the street. She lobbied Congress to no avail

In my working career, I have been exposed to two major "messes". The foreclosures of the eighties, and now the shame of shoddy regulatory scrutiny of the
2000's.

I can't believe that so many "smart" people allowed this to happen.. All the safety nets were missing, they were too busy counting their money instead of minding the store.

As I was underwriting I couldn't believe the loans that were "acceptable". Common sense would dictate otherwise. There are guilty parties along every step of the way, and you know who you are.

Us old timers will wait until the kids and crooks are through throwing sand out of the sandbox, and we will return to build a castle based on logic and true work ethics.

Yes, I was also fooled by Michael Perry. I made the mistake of listening to a webcast where Michael talked about keeping the dividends vs. buying back shares etc. I think it was 2 months later and the dividend was completely eliminated. He had to know. He assured investors of the safety of IndyMac and the low percentage of risky loans etc. I bought his line and held on...and held on...all the way down to 19 cents. I would love to see Perry, the CFO and all of his Directors prosecuted.
