When liars, conmen and frauds went on Meet the Press, they got reduced to looking like pot-smoking idiots.

Who amongst today's corporate-sponsored 'journalists' will do the important work of The Fourth Estate, now that the one and only is gone? Are any of them even capable? Sean Hannity? Rush Limbaugh? Keith Olbermann? Chris Matthews?

I'm still reeling from Tim Russert's untimely death. In the middle of the most important and most exciting presidential election in a generation, we lose the one person who still asked The Questions.

It's just not the same. And without the fourth branch of government, as we all know now, we get this.

Hash brownies no doubt about it

Wow, that video was really butchered up. The original poster must have been deleting all the "nine elevens" from Rudy's responses. Probably save 20 minutes or more.

Russert was a fine journalist. He didn't lob softballs like Larry King, yet was likeable. He asked hard questions, but wasn't a prick like Chris Matthews.

Most politicians are good honest folks looking out for our behalf, I don't know why we need to question them in the first place.

I hear Tim Russert is being replaced by Tucker Carlson.

they're all in it together! Obama has the same tricks up his sleeves I'm sure!

"I don't know why we need to question them in the first place."

indeed! especially since "good honest folks" elected them!

yes and russert never asked bush any salient questions about iraq. he participated in the cover up of why we went over there and so did all of the news media. why do you think he was mean to ron paul? its about the business that he was in and who his bosses were.

i think tucker carlson is finished as far as television is concerned. he showed his approval of ron paul too readily, imho. so he got canned.

No need to make pot-smokers look bad by comparing them with this idiot Giuliani.

But yeah, I agree - Russert's death is a big loss for serious political journalism. We need more like him...

Awfully convenient for the politicians. Hillary Clinton did remind everyone about the Robert Kennedy assassination happening in June. People just assumed she was making an implication about Obama.

the most important and most exciting presidential election in a generation

Between a cranky old man and a charming young empty suit, neither of whom knows the first thing about either economics or the Constitution?

We are screwed either way. What's exciting or important about that?

RE: Rudy Giuliani on Meet the Press.

Some of the hard questions were edited out of this video. Fortunately, I have access to the transcript and have been able to restore some of the questions which were put to Mr. Guiliani, followed by his heartfelt responses:

Question: Mr. Guiliani, there are those who say that you knew beforehand that the 9/11 attacks were going to occur. What is your response to this?

Rudy Giuliani: Ha, ha, ha! Boy you got me there!

Question: The World Trade Center was a crime scene after 9/11. Why did you so adamantly participate in removing all of the evidence that would show that the buildings were brought down by explosives planted before the planes hit?

Rudy Giuliani: Ha, ha, ha! Wow, you've really done your homework on that one! Snicker, snicker!

Question: Why did you assure the 9/11 workers, firemen, policemen and the people of New York City that the air in and around the 9/11 crime scene was safe to breathe? You must have known that the air was contaminated with asbestos and many other poisonous compounds contained in the fine dust created when the explosive charges were detonated?

Rudy Giuliani: Oh my goodness! Ha, ha, ha. You caught me good on that one. Ha, ha, ha, ha!

Question: Mr. Giuliani, are you aware that all of the 9/11 search dogs are dead? Are you aware that many 9/11 crime scene workers are also dead and that hundreds of others are suffering from respiratory and other health problems directly related to their exposure to the contamination from the 9/11 crime scene?

Rudy Giuliani: Ha, ha, ha! I don't get caught very often, but when I do get caught it's always for something big. Yuk, yuk, snicker, snicker!

Question: Did you know that a lot of people think that you're a real piece of sh!t?

Rudy Giuliani: Ha, ha, ha! You've got me there! Ho, ho, he, he!

Tim Russert was a fairly good reporter but was too soft on the most important questions of the day and therefore was often scooped by Bob Shiffer. Bob, however, was at his worst when he interviewed Bush in the white house a year or two back. Boy was he star-struck that day. So in Tim's defense, I guess it happens to all reporters and overall Tim did a great job. He seemed like a really cool guy!

God Almighty, say it isn't so!

Russert's shoes will be hard to fill. I think Matthews will pick up the slack in terms of political comentary on MSNBC. Don't know who will be replacing Russert on Meet the Press, but it would be interesting if they hired Dan Rather. I personally think that David Shuster has the makings of a fine journalist, just don't know if he's seasoned enough to fill the Russert void.

Russert was a decent man, no doubt. But his only tough questions were to conservatives. Liberals he had on his show got softball questions...they were more like discussions than interviews. With conservatives, he did real interviews.

Like I said, a good man and nice guy but he lobbed softballs with the liberals.

C'mon Keith - are you really that naive? Expand your mind a bit.
