San Francisco, get ready. The China Propaganda World Tour (aka Olympic Torch Relay) comes your way on Wednesday. Make it the last stop.

I've gotta give "The Worst Marketers in the World" title now to China. The National Association of REALTORS had it for the past few years, but the monkeys running China have snatched it away, as they continue on with the "Rage Against China" world tour this week.

If they wanted to draw attention to their evil ways, if they wanted to stir a worldwide boycott of their goods, and if they wanted to hurt their US distribution chain (Wal-Mart), they've done a great job. An amazing job as a matter of fact.

People of California, do America proud on Wednesday. Make London and Paris seem like a day in the park. Put an end to China's Propaganda Tour. Send 'em packing. Free Tibet. And after the flame has left, boycott Wal-Mart and any retailer who sells Chinese goods.

San Fran is about to erupt folks. Enjoy the show. Participate if you can. Once in a lifetime experience.

By the way, please tell me today's events in Paris are dominating the American news

Please tell me that

Paris? Ohhh you mean Paris Hilton! Yeah she was on the news today, seems as she has a new boyfriend! I better go back and see what his name is and when the video of those two crazy kids comes out.

Never heard a word about it till you Kieth - thanks

PS in the US we are just concerned about gas prices

From SF gate:

"Wang, who has opposed the protests during the torch relay, said the contrast between how the torch is received in San Francisco and other countries will "embarrass not just the disrupters but sully the image of San Francisco - and America." "

In light of the events in London and Paris, it seems like anything but loud protests would constitute such a 'contrast'...

Always glad to help you, Keith.

In Paris, Texas today a few disgruntled, old members of the Klan got together at the Daylight Do-Nut shop to talk about the possibility of McCain choosing Condi Rice as his running mate.

They decided to kill themselves by tying their arms and legs to a good, American made, green as grass John Deere tractor, pulling themselves and each other apart.

Their disgruntled old wives were busy squeezing out stinky little farts in the kitchen while they opened cans of Cream of Mushroom soup.

The smartest kid in town, whom I happen to know, is working at the local Home Depot. Too bad he's black. He could have been a contender.

right, like we are goingt top paris. nothing will happen in san fran. this is america, nobody gives a shit. heck we don't even watch the olympics anyway. i do agree with the sentiment, the chines govt sucks

Do you think, the good people of San Francisco can repeat what happended in Paris? I surely hope so, but I'm not sure- the Parisiens are experienced protestors and demonstrators, hardened in many mass gatherings and street blockades.

It could happen as Wang said:
> the contrast between how the torch is received in San Francisco and other countries will (...) sully the image of San Francisco - and America
...if the San Fransicans don't live up to deeds of the French.

In seriousness... The Paris protests have made CNN's front page on and off today, and most of the Chicago AM stations at least mentioned it once per news rotation.

Get the Fu*k outta here..

I can’t believe you are suggesting indiscriminate punishment to a Billion Chinese innocent men woman and children, because of a small minority of terrorist.

So most Muslims are nice…. but most Chinese are bad?

Is it the air in Europe?

Disclaimer: I personally have yet not met a nice Muslim and have yet not met a mean China man.

Anonymous said...

Aint gonna happen.

Europe has been sugar coating the most grotesque human atrocities in Arabia for the past 10 years; no one here is going to trust Europeans judgment on issue if good and bad.

It’s almost like; if the French think the Chinese are bad.
Then the Chinese must truly be angels.

look at drudge. it's the top story. people scaled the golden gate, and put up "free tibet" signs.

The stinky French don't have eggs to egg that entire bus as it moves? Egg everyone and everything in sight.

F*ck the billion Chinese and f*ck you too, Communist troll.

I don't like Chiese Government, but I don't like the way you guys treat Olympic either. Keith, I can't understand why you hate China? Chinese worker work so hard, exploited by Nike or Wal-Mart, make the inflation much lower in USA than it should be, save money for all the family and company in USA as well, I believe you also get benefit. Keith, can you say I don't have any "Made in China" stuff at your home?

If USA lost some blue collar job because of China, don't blame China, it's globalization, if China worker don't do it, other country will do it. Microsoft, Intel also get so many job from Chinese IT workers, have you complained them?

If you keep hate China, you are making enemy. You are no different from neo-cons, who made a big mess in USA, and you will make a bigger mess if you keep hostile to China in the future years.

At least, see what the other side has to say before casting accusations ...

Wow that is very well articulated, did you come up with this answer all by yourself or did you get it from the BBC.

OK admit it, you read the FT.

Do Chinese people enjoy what we in America might call God Given Rights?

If God has given these rights, who shall take them away?

America needs to put up or shut up.

At least Judas held out for physical silver; we aren't even rising to that level.

SF protesting against Communists? But everyone in China has free health care. What's the problem?

@Keith,
Perhaps you might include this link detailing the SF Bay Area Tibet events scheduled for April 8th and 9th.

keithard,

Thank you for reminding us all European History.

With that picture of Hitler, most of us have stronger feelings against Europe then we'll ever have against China.

I'd expect San Franciscans to support China since they all hate America so much and want to impose Communism here.

Eggs,

great; no an egg bubble?

just what we need

"Sully the image of the US?" George Bush has already done that. If the US will point to Tibet, maybe the Chinese will point to Iraq and our illegal war based on lies. Maybe that's why we're not hearing from Mr. Bush on this issue.

Keith,

Why do you make it seem like China is the only Evil Empire out there? Hell - the USA did far worse.

Free Sioux Nation!

Free Cherokee Nation!

Free Blackfoot Nation!

Free Nez Perce Nation!

I could go on - and on - but you get the picture.

Americans have NO moral high ground to stand on.

Keith, if they come through Sedona, I'll give them a yoke or two! I'm an old hand @ egg-throwing. It's best to use your thumb and index finger...middle, if you must. Grip it end to end, with the larger end rested on your thumb, the sharper end rested upon the index finger. This way, the egg won't break in your hand as you throw it.

I work at a Sams Club warehouse and I have not seen any slow down. Believe me, I wouldnt mind if this place went out of business. Walmart sucks and treats everyone like S***

One good note though, the container business is slowing down. Maersk, COSCO, and another company are sharing ships to bring chinese crap over.

Viva China!!!!

Last time I visited San Francisco chinatown, I saw an Asian guy standing on a chair on the busy sidewalk cursing at all the Chinese dudes walking by. I wondered if he was from Tibet since he was holding up a Free Tibet sign. Also, how come I haven't heard from Richard Gere lately. He is really into Tibet. Screw all the Chinese. They should learn to live peacefully with their neighbors and stop stealing other people's land.

Is that the Chase logo behind Hitler ?

F-cking commies!

I hope San Fransicko can muster the wherewithal to kick their totalitarian asses back to China.

We fought a Cold War for fifty plus years to the tune of trillions $$.

For what? 99-cent Chinese underwear and shoes?

F them!

Remember Tianenmen Square.

I think that I just figured out why your web site is blocked when I am in China. :)

Keith:

Your an idiot. Boycott China!! How about you boycott America. We do much much worse than China ever does. Your so pathetic. China could be more generous with Tibet, but at least they aren't an imperialistic regime who unilaterally invades countries, killing hundreds of thousands of people (IRAQ). How many Tibetans has China killed? How was jolly old Tibet when the monks were ruling? Do you actually know anything? Didn't think so. Will this comment actually be approved? Didn't think so either.

China doesn't have free speech or a free press. Until they have that, I won't believe anyone who says the US is worse.

i will be surprised if SF mounts much of a protest. Heck, SF is nearly a communist state. I bet SF protests the bush administration support of China but not China directly.

remember, in SF, it is all bush's fault.

Personally, i am not going to boycott the olympics and all the sponsors this year.

6 months ago, nobody spoke about Tibet.

It's someone's agenda being served again with the propaganda-upset-setup with respect to China.

If people cared, Walmart would not exist. Hard truth: people don't care, especially not about some country far away.

Did Iraq matter...?

Tibet was a backwards, loser theocracy, stuck in the middle ages. China is an advanced, and advancing, nation. The Dali Lama is nothing but a cynical politician, like any other cynical politician, he just managed to capture the fancy of the Prozac-sucking drones in the U.S. middle class who wanted to inject some exotic drama into their dull lives when "Desperate Housewives" wasn't on TV.

Screw Tibet. It's brought nothing of value to the world.
