HousingPANIC Stupid Question of the Day

Given the housing crash, Iraq quagmire, entitlement bomb and $53 trillion debt of the United States, will it make a hill of beans difference who wins the US presidency?

It seldom does.

Of course it does. Is it better to have someone with interests 180 degrees from your own or only 90?

Unknown said...

Probably not. A more positive international image would be helpful for the US, but it's likely too late for that to make much difference. It's more like a contest for who gets to be this century's Hoover.

After a period of decline, someone will invent something new to rock the world like they always do...and everything will be ok.(Like I KNOW. Am just trying to keep from hitting the bottle again.)

voted for Ron Paul in PA on Tues.

There were brain dead obama zombies and mcCainiacs all over the polling place...

they were all women and all have not clue...not one ever took an econ class.

i tried to talk to them and they were talking about abortion, terrorists and all wanted to give me 'literature'

they were lucky i was not in the mood to punch them in the face because they are so dumb... they are such a threat to my life, my nation and my way of life, that i ought to have beat them in self-liberty-defense.

tell these zombies off.

teach them the truth.

get involved...because they will vote for OUR own destruction with Obama or Mccain.

Exactly. The dominoes are already tumbling; its too late to avoid disaster now.

I'm with Joe and Anon 12:56,

The only difference is that it will determine what we call our suburban shantytowns:

Hillaryvilles
Obamavilles
-or-
McCainvilles
(or Bushvilles for my police-state conspiracy friends out there)

It's too late - middle class wages have been stagnate in real terms since 2000, and are starting to decline. Ron Paul was our only hope. Now you just have to settle in for the decline of our empire and hope that our standard of living doesn't fall too far or too fast. Based on the three choices, it doesn't matter who is at the helm - the results will be almost identical.

However, some sheeple will claim 'victory' as their standard of living declines. Other sheeple will bray at abortion, gun control, the drug war, Paris Hilton's undies - or lack thereof. Same program on all channels.

Anonymous at PA polling place- your story kind of reminds me of that part in the movie "Airplane!" when the Hare Krishnas were messing with Rex Kramer in the LAX terminal... although he unloaded on them.

That's a gosh darn good question!

Bill Clinton said, "Once you get into power, you discover that somebody else makes all the decisions."

Rest assured that all eligible candidates have been carefully screened by those who see to it that their interests are protected. And once the poor sod is elected, it's simply a matter of keeping him on a short leash.

NO CONTEST.

Meet the WORST PRESIDENT IN UNITED STATES HISTORY:

George W. Bush

Bush makes Hoover look like an Apostle and a Sage.

Bush Legacy: Shame, Failure and Corruption.

Enjoy it George, you earned it.

Yes it will... but not to American citizens.

At least not right away.

Right now, most of the world is watching in utter amazement as the country which was supposed to "show the rest of us how it's done" is going to put into power people who wouldn't be trusted to shine a pair of shoes in some of the world's seediest brothels.

For God's sake... EVEN NIXON WAS BETTER!!!

My... but how the mighty have fallen...

Anonymous Ron Paul voter, we are outnumbered by low IQ sub-human retards. You should have punched away.

George Soros is funding all three. He will be the big winner no matter what.

Anonymous said...

No. The President gets too much blame when things go badly, too much credit when things go well, just like sports coaches.

The President (like the Fed and Congress) can only work at the margins to make things better; each of these entities does have more power to screw things up, but even that is limited.

Anonymous said...

Hmm, hell yeah it makes a difference. McCain = 4 more years of Bush and I think everyone here agrees that Bush has been the worst president in moden times, hell maybe ever.

Anybody else at least means something different.

The country will feel sorry for neglecting the message of Ron Paul.

Let me just say that I will vote for the Democrats with an eyeshade.

Hopefully everyone does, even you Keith. Its either:

MORE OF THE SAME - McCain

A SHOT AT SOMETHING DIFFERENT - Obama, Clinton.

I hope that this is a different year.

The only difference will be that the PTB will have to bribe / coerce Obama. They already own the other two.

.....will it make a hill of beans difference who wins the US presidency?
-----------------------------------
Probably not. But I hope the Republicans lose and join the Whigs in oblivion. The Bush-Cheney crime families have bankrupted this country and corrupted the currency. If the people who voted for Bush in 2000 and 2004 would abstain from voting for the next 20 years maybe the country will recover. But I wouldn't bet on it.

Yes Sir!

Hillary will bring back prosperity to the USA.

Very much looking forward to the next 8 years with Hillary as President!

Unknown said...

This time it does not matter. The next President has no ammunition to help thanks to he Bushies.

Realize that almost every major politician is a multimillionare. They have health care and security. If all hell breaks lose they could simply go to a safe haven and be just fine.

Every head of a household needs to prepare their family the best they can. Eliminate debt, and educate the kids in fields that can survive a very bad economic downturn. Also raising kids that are not very materialistic would help.

Future generations better learn to be happy with walks in the park and playing board games with family because the luxuries for many Americans are going to be few and far between.

HERE'S WHAT YOU BUSH IDIOTS GOT US:

$3.75 a gallon gas, home values falling -25% to -45%, food and heating costs increases, a fake paranoid "terra campain" to drive FEAR into Americans, massive loss of jobs in America, $-2 trillion dollar war, 65,000 injured American soilders, huge failing banks, all time high bankruptsies, highest rate of forclosures and a corrupt "paid-off" group of elected officials and representatives that's watching the SHIP GO DOWN! (as they smile, cash in their chips and wave good-bye!)

And what's worse? Nobody can stop their path of destruction, lies and cover-up's. Nobody.

Can't anyone see that the spectre of WAR is most likely the great occupation of the next president of the United States with internal disorder as well due to economic forces around the world?
We will be dealing with a crisis in the middle east and at home. The next president will have to face the consequences and unless they have new ideas to solve problems, revolution will be on the horizon with a Civil threat.

Ha - not even close! Not even close during my lifetime.

Carter by far.

There are lots worse if you look back in time. FDR was certainly worse than Bush on the economic side: his New Deal created both short term problems that turned a bad downturn into a depression, and then we have long-term US bankruptcy as Social Security (and later New Deal derived) Medicare chickens come home to roost. That said, he was a good war president, other than getting us in quagmires in Asia and Europe. (jk)

However, in times like this, we don't want an economic dunce as our President (McCain).

Then you better not vote for any of them. Have you listened to Hillary's and Obama's plans to "save" housing? Like it is some poor drowning child?

They have no knowledge of economics either and are no better than McCain in that regard. Hillary wanted to "freeze" interest rates on mortgages for 5 years. Anyone with a shred of knowledge of economics 101 knows that would be a disaster since it would cause massive legal ramifications in the derivatives market. Not to mention shooting the LIBOR rate up.

SELF-STYLED REPUBLICAN “reformer” John McCain is right now positioned as one of the top figures in the race for the GOP presidential nomination. But one thing about McCain that the mass media chooses not to report is his family connection to the organized crime-connected interests that have run the state of Arizona (through both major political parties) since at least the 1940s.

To understand McCain—in particular his devotion to the interests of Israel—it is necessary to recognize the little-known fact that the powerful Bronfman family empire, based on its Seagram’s liquor fortune and its controlling influence over the Time-Warner media conglomerate, has been the primary behind-the-scenes force dominating Arizona politics.

While the Bronfman family first came to power in Montreal in the 1920s under Sam Bronfman, a foremost partner of U.S.-based organized crime chieftain Meyer Lansky whose so-called “Mafia” henchmen peddled Bronfman liquor in the United States during Prohibition, the current head of the family, Edgar Bronfman, spent many years as president of the powerful World Jewish Congress.

The Bronfmans, along with the Rothschilds of Europe, the Oppenheimers of South Africa, and Armand Hammer of the United States—all patrons of Israel and the global Zionist network—constituted what has been dubbed the “Billionaire Gang of Four.” But the Bronfman family has emerged as the virtual royal family of American Zionism, and their tentacles reach far and wide throughout the United States through a vast array of holdings little known to the public...

...McCain’s home state of Arizona has long been under Bronfman control. While most Americans perceive Arizona as a paradise of cowboys, cacti and wide-open spaces and a conservative stronghold independent of the corruption and intrigue found in the big cities like New York, Miami, Chicago and Los Angeles, Arizona ranks right up alongside the great crime capitals. That status can be traced directly to the influence of the Bronfmans.

The Bronfmans are the “godfathers” behind the political career of John McCain.

oh come on now. mccain would make a excellent president of the united states. he is just what we need, doncha think????? Please do not vote ladies and gentlemen. It doesn't matter who you vote for. Its all a big lie...

Kudos to the mealy mouthed apologists. Keeping your eyes and minds closed for so long is quite an accomplishment.

Good luck to you. You are going to need it.

The most important issue to me is that failed housing gamblers do not get any type of bailout whatsoever. I believe that out of the 3 remaining major candidates McCain offers the best chance of no bailout..That is who I will vote for.

It will if Obama or Hillary get in. They're far more socialist than McCain, and Obama is the absolute worst of the bunch.

McCain is nowhere near conservative, but a RINO - but at the very least, he shouldn't start bloating more entitlement programs and selling us out fast than the other two idiots would.

The loser will be the winner this fall. In one years time we'll be waiting 8 hours to buy 10 gallons of gas and another 8 hours to buy a few groceries. Won't be a very good time to be president.

i find it interesting how you make excuses. isn't it time we do not have to make excuses and hold our collective noses when we vote? isn't it time yet? how long do we have to continue to vote for people who could not tie george washington's shoe laces? how long? is there anyone out there that is worthy? yes there is one.(ron paul) but no one can hear him. and the question begs to be asked? why is that?

How do you read my mind so. I said the same thing just yesterday. None of em can do anything about the mess all these admin's started. This mess started during the Clinton admin with the free trade, and it would have been the Bush admin if he had won. The stock market crash, the falling of housing prices back in the early 90's. Sometimes it takes a while before an illness shows it symptoms. It appears this one didn't show up until it was stage 4. I am at the point that I probably won't even bother to vote, as I say why I don't vote they don't do anything for me so who gives a damn who wins, I know I won't.

Ron Paul wouldn't have been able to get a single thing accomplished which would mean at least 4 more years of failed Bush policies.

Of the three remaining, I hold out the most hope for Obama. He seems like the only one with any common sense at all. He hasn't been torn apart and rebuilt into a mindless political robot like Hillary and McCain were. A friend of mine was recovering at Walter Reed last year and spoke with Obama one on one for a good thirty minutes. He said Obama was completely down to earth and "gets" the situation in Iraq.

People who should be ignored: anyone who quotes Bible passages as prophesy or compares the candidates to Hitler.
