The end of the world as they know it for realtors is now here: Ramen costs set to soar

Here's the bad news from South Korea - coming soon to America.

RamenPANIC is here!

The Lee Myung-bak administration has laid out a series of measures to fight inflation, including eliminating or reducing import duties on grain and oil products.Still, the price of ramen soared 12.8 percent from a month earlier while bread jumped 8.8 percent.

Without ramen they were nothing. They built a house of straw. The thundering machines sputtered and stopped. Their leaders talked and talked and talked. But nothing could stem the avalanche. Their world crumbled. The cities exploded. A whirlwind of looting, a firestorm of fear. Men began to feed on men.

On the roads it was a white line nightmare. Only those mobile enough to scavenge, brutal enough to pillage would survive. The gangs took over the highways, ready to wage war for a tank of juice. And in this maelstrom of decay, ordinary men were battered and smashed.

Except for one man armed with an AK-47, and a Honda full of silver.

Damn you Keith, I clicked on the link and I got about 10 alerts requiring me to install the Korean language pack to fully view the page.

OK so ramen goes up 12%. Now instead of 10 for a $1 you are looking at 9 for $1. This has to be expected given it's made from rice flour, no?

Thomas Malthus was right. He was ahead of his time, but his theory was sound.

First we got saved by exporting our population surplus to the Americas, then it was the green revolution. But we cannot very well export people to Mars, and the green revolution cannot be repeated.

Moving forward mass production of artificial fertilizer will become impossible as the ingredients run out. The cost is already going trough the roof.

But to quote Karellen from 'Childhoods End' by Arthur C. Clarke

"...no one of intelligence resents the inevitable."

Top Ramen is the Lexus of Ramen packs. Muruchan Ramen is the equivalent of a Studebaker with a thrown rod...

No comparison.

Joe RealWhore and I approve this message.

Keefer,

The REIC has already blamed you for causing the housing crash. Now, they'll blame you for causing a run on ramen!

Run for the hills, man!!!

MadMike--ROTFLMAO!!

What a picture you paint!! But, alas, the guy in the Honda can't eat his silver, so that is worthless too. The AK might come in handy.

Seriously--I am truly truly worried about the state of our economy and world right now to the point where I believe your scenario may not be far off.

Work for a big lender still, but I can't bring myself to do jack shytt, because I just dont believe in the company anymore, so I will sit at the computer in my jammies today past noon, sipping my coffee in a fog.

WOW...What to do?!! The world is going to hell faast. Thank God my wife and I never had kids.
